Mary, let me quote Retire Marine General “Mad Dog” Mathis: “I come in Peace, I didn’t bring any Artillery with Me, …….and if you $$$$ with me I will kill you All”.
Now, it’s time, time too stand with our fellow Christians. We must defeat this Evil, within our country first restore our faith and Christian values, then with a firm base, we will defeat these people by making an example of ISIS, when this is done, our children and grandchildren will have peace in their time.

Sigh…told ya so some months back. Syria wants Lebanon bavk and Iran’s had Hezz there for years. Russia equipped and trained Hezz, I believe they even favilitated more IRG Hezz troops being sent to the Syrian front ( lotsa reports of them fighting with Assad forces forctwo years or more), may ecreason Russia stepped in was to land a few body blows on ISIS and anti-Assad forces while Hezz was rebuilt.
Hezz (Iran) has wanted to draw Lebanon into its web for years – if for no other reason than the strategic position it would give Iran vis-a-vis Israel. With Russia and Iran firmly situated in an already Israel-hating Syria…you donthe math. There are trade and evonomic reasons too but the proximity to Israel, at least to me, would be the prime reason Iran would like Lebanese real estate.

Since though that is a waste of money and work never killed anyone, we’ll get the trees cut up and the brush burned when we have a day without 30 mph winds. lol

Michellc, did that a couple of weeks ago. Most of my ( I did not plant ) hard woods were planted in the ’40s-50s. The red pine was for local saw mills, or just for burning in wood stove/fireplaces only with a mixture of other wood due to the creosote/sap. Though Great for outdoor fire pits.

We had an old oak tree that had a branch blown off, but when I say branch it’s bigger around than I can reach. That entire tree after looking at it this morning needs to come down, it’s a bit too big for us where it’s located, so we have no choice but to have the professionals with the right equipment to come take it out. I don’t want it falling on my propane tank. Then we had a few smaller hickory trees blown over and a lot more branches here and there.

Is there a fancy foreign word for hillbilly? They may call me what I am, and make of it what they will. And I will sit in my hills with my eyes open and sights on them. It is what it is. We are enemies.

However, man has been dividing themselves into tribes, if you will, ever since Cain slew Abel. We identify, all of us, with something or somebodies, and we allow that identity to drive our pride and fuel our fears. We all do it. Some of us just are a little more rational about how we use it in our life than others are.

Only God was ever able to say I AM and leave it at that. The rest of us are frantically trying to be.

Despite the relative lack of moderation compared to here and CTH, I still love the comments at American Thinker. I don’t even comment there. The comments, on a balance scale, more than half the reason I go there, and because of the many long-time, very astute commenters. Sure there are trolls. That’s what happens when you offer a product that is in demand, like Truth. (Ask Sundance and Crew.) But the rebuttals are a reason to stick around.

Another thing I like about conservative sites. We don’t go hog-wild deleting comments. We rebut, intelligently, cogently, and coherently.

HuffPo, Kos, Polygon, and many more sites just delete anything that stinks of Conservative. Because “delete” is their only argument. Ask Mao.

Hopefully he’ll be home-schooled, so that he can remain an intelligent and quick thinker.

I’ve known 3-4 year old boys who were remarkably intelligent, insightful, and quick-thinking.

Then five years later, they’re not, and they exude ADD and ADHD from their very pores. It is amazing how well the public schools and media can turn a genius kid into a zombie, in such a short time. No more thinking after age 7 is the goal. And they achieve this goal, because parents let them, by giving their kids up to the federal department of de-education, and to the television.

They do it well, what this cabal have set out to do. It’s a good thing I’m not their final judge, for what they’ve done to our nation’s kids. Incarceration would be the too-kind sentence. Because they did it on purpose.

    Afternoon, Stellars! 🙂

Strange you should mention this. Took us two years of fighting the school/district to get my GGS declared ADHD even after we had him tested by a certified professional at a major hospital. They responded by losing all of the year-one paperwork, forcing us to start from square one this year. A threat of getting a lawyer involved does wonders and last week we got his next year’s IEP for review and approval.
The schools do everything they can to NOT get a student ADHD diagnosed abd the Fed law assists them. Our ggs’s school first suggested drugs and I told them to write it up so I could submit their proposal to our lawyer. That discussion ended quickly. The schools have a Federal mandate to give services to all children with learning disabilities, even get money to do so, but it’s easier to drug ’em than educate ’em.

The latter just makes stuff up. I like reporters. Not a fan of “journalists”.

He’s a Breitbart. He’s an O’Keefe. Well, almost. He’ll come around, because he has a unique product that is in great demand: Truth. I’m not speaking of his opinions, but of his investigative style, which highlights truth in the end. The edited final product shows more truth than his opinions, usually. Nobody can say that about a “journalist”.

All they do is show their bias. That’s their goal: change the world. Limbaugh said this years ago.

College: “Why do you want to go into this field?” J-School Student: “I want to change the world!”

A great thread at Vox Popoli spawned this great comment by Markku:

Let’s imagine a fairy-tale world where the entire “international community” is a high-trust environment. Where you can assume that it will be an exceedingly rare event where someone would use trade strategically, to the other party’s detriment. In such a world, such a nation would immediately invoke the wrath of all the rest, so it would be a bad play. And it wouldn’t be done. In such a world, free trade would be a GREAT idea. Nations could concentrate on what they manufacture best, and trust not to get stabbed in the back if they focus their production on just those things. So, in a naive understanding, free trade is a great thing.

Just like pacifism is a great thing – IF everybody does it. But announcing to the world that even if some nation seems to behave in a suspicious way, you will not under any circumstances penalize them for it, is precisely like the pacifist strategy before Soviet Russia of unilaterally laying down arms, trusting that USSR will be so impressed by this that they will do the same.

In the real world, free trade of any kind is precisely as damaging as that strategy, for precisely the same reason. And it is birthed from solipsism, just like pacifism.

I served tea to the richest people in Boston every day at 3:00., working at the most expensive condo in Boston. Because that’s tea-time. We had every variety of Twinings. And every variety of Pepperidge Farms cookies. And every variety of other hoity-toity crackers. And a samovar, which I polished every other day with Brasso.

They were like inklings. I listened, and served. And cleaned. If you were working for the richest people in Boston, would you speak? I didn’t. Ever. Except in the elevator, and only when asked a question. They disagreed with each other, and held forth as peers, and with deference and respect, during tea time. I saw this every day, and was impressed. People like us, I thought at the time, just get angry with each other when discussing things upon which we disagree. These people never did. They just held forth, and calmly opined, even in the face of disagreement.

I don’t argue politics or religion or social ills with people any more. They mostly just get angry, and are incapable of polite disagreement and opinion-speaking.

It’s also informative when sites that normally allow comments turn off that functionality on “certain stories”, because they know too much truth would be presented in the comments. CBSLocal sites come to mind. Riot in a Chuck E Cheese? Better close comments. White guy shoots up a school? Keep comments open.

In the Soviet Union, people began to know the truth by what was omitted by State-run press.

You can do a whole lot with cream cheese and a nice KitchenAid. So much.

Me, personally? I’d do that and then put kettle-cooked potato chips on it, so we could continue calling it “crunch”. Unfortunately, I don’t think our clientele would like potato chips on their sammich.

Sittin’ here awatchin’ the local nightly news and up pops a piece on Kerry visiting Hiroshima and planting wreaths with Japanese officials. He came within inches of apologizing for our nuking them, ignoring not only the millions the Japanese murdered, including US and Allied POWs, but civilians. Ignoring the fact that the Japanese have not formally apologized to the countries they invaded for the war crimes they committed in them. Ignoring the fact the Japanese have never apologized for or compensated victims of their violations of the Geneva Conventions. I could go on but you get the idea.
I slso noticed how much Kerry looks like Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Then again Odo was a Changling and Kerry bears a heavy resemblance there also…

If I hear Hotel California one. more. time. Or Brown Eyed Girl.

Good songs. You can just have your radio station say “Number thirty-eight!” and I hear the entirety of Born to Run. Or, “Number twenty-five” and I hear Riders on the Storm. Because I’ve heard them all fifteen thousand times, and don’t need to hear them ever again.

God help us if I’m ever allowed to manage a radio station. Actually pray for that.

      Someone has to intervene.

I may have to find me a clock tower near a FM radio station if I hear any of these songs ever again, unless they’ve been remixed with a dubstep beat, and been made something new again.

I’ll be listening to new music when I’m 90, God willing.

So…… (Trump voice) the radio (NOT pirate) is playing “Sundown” by that Shiite Gordon Lightfoot. Whom I used to adore. (but they already did Supremes and Creedence, so I’m calm, ok?) My child was born on the same day as that Shiite Gordon Lightfoot and in the 6th grade (couple ‘a years ago) they had to do a report on some personality that had their birthday and to write to them (letter or note + birthday card,) and include a copy of their Pulitzer Prize winning report. Which ours was. The appropriate trophy was presented.
Do you think the report/birthday card/pictures of the Pulitzer exuded thank yous and effused eternal gratefulness for reviving his career from aforesaid has-been??? It did not.
          The End.

Don’t disparage him. He got me through 2 years on Midway Island. I am surprised that the one record I had lasted being played every day all day long.

And, I saw him two years ago. His voice is older, but it was still a good show.

You know how they say, “Youth is wasted on the young?” It’s true. I just wish I had been older when I was there.
