    Good Morning, Stella and Crew,
Thought I would share the latest update is things are taking a turn for the worse for Treepers YTZ and PZ, please lift them up in your prayers, words of encouragement left for them over at their house would probably be appreciated. It seems that more of the old time Treepers have found a home here, so hope this is okay to leave a message for others who read (lurk) rather than write.

Who is your money on Derk? I think poor Spieth may have lost his confidence after falling apart yesterday. I’d like to see Smylie (just because of his name 🙂 and youth) Spieth or Day get the Green Jacket. Or the old guy Langer.

        • derk's avatar derk says:

Well, think you are right on Spieth. Like to see him win, (‘Merica), but he seems to be getting more unsure on his shots, so think he will stumble while hoping he does not.
Would love to see Langer, just a tad older than myself, what a story that’d be. But, in using that long putter still, really bending the rule, and I’d have to discount a “miracle” win if he does pull it off.
Smylie, hmm. Good story, good kid, but believe he’ll fade. Not enough info on him to say either way.
Rory could do it, if he gets out to a good start, look out.
I am DJ fan, but putting is going to be the key, so nope.
Day is good bet, he too will have to start fast and get the swag going. Good putter as well.
But actually my gut is saying Matsuyama the Japanese lad. Tough, proven, great iron player.
Willet and Snedeker could sneak up as well. Westwood will fall.
This is going to be soooo GREAT!!.
          My prediction:
          Matsuyama
          Day
          Spieth
          Willet
          McEllroy
          Snedeker
          Langer
          Johnson
Think holes 1-5 are key, get a couple of birdies, avoid any bogeys, get the confidence and blood flowing. Hope it is as epic as it portends to be. Enjoy!!!

Wow! Nice predictions and analysis. I’ll go with Day or Smylie for the win.

Early is essential, as is a fearless mindset, one of the tennis greats once said, “Most games are won and lost in the shower before you step onto the court.” I think a lot of sports are that way especially individual sports like golf and tennis.

My prediction for Bubba, very hot top 3 finish or very cold and drops like a rock.

PS I don’t think Langer is old in the real world, just on the Master’s course. I refer to Roger Federer as an old man all the time and he is only 34, I’m just barely old enough to be his mum, but he is an old man in the world of tennis.

And away we go! Have fun!

True, and as they also say, ” golf is a game of inches, and the most important are those 4 (5 if you are a LargeBrain) between the ears. Golf to me is life in readout. What is going on in your mind/soul/spirit comes out through your hands
This is my Super Bowl, love this tourney, this venue. I spend a lot of time just taking in the course, so beautiful. I get a map app going and follow them around the course to see where they are at. My kids know and leave Dad to be. The U.S. Open always falls on Father’s Day, and my gift is allowing me to just immerse myself for the day in golf.
Wind is going to be down, so fantastic shots a’flying and roars through the Georgia pines a’thundering.
Anticipation builds! I do love me some golf.

Kind of did a Karl Rove on my Matsuyama pick. Sorry to see Spieth throw up all over himself, he had it in the bag. Love Dustin’s game, if he could putt a bit better, he’d be the best. Rory and Day had opportunity early, but fizzled. The drive by Rory on the 3rd was epic. Westwood impressed, but just not quite enough oomph, although a fantastic eagle on 15. Poor Smylie, held in there for the longest of time. Langer as well, one last hurrah before riding that long putter into the twilight. THREE holes in one on the 16th, the last one hitting another ball and still goes in!
And then there’s Willet, very deserving, very talented. And he had all of the right ingredients to make himself a champion, even his wife/son cooperating. Great day, not exactly as I hoped nor predicted, but that is the beauty of it all.
Good talking some golf with you Lovely, hope you enjoyed it as well.

Spieth really did implode and even though he wasn’t vey gracious in his loss he is only 22 and he did the best he could after totally disappointing and mortifying himself so I hope he can shake it off. I thought he did a good job in putting the blame on himself, after he had some time to gather himself and did end up as gracious as one could expect under the circumstances. The twelfth hole, tough one to leave behind.

And Smylie 😞poor kid, that was rough.

It didn’t play out like I expected with the front 9 giving no clue to the implosion coming on the back 9 but it sure was fun! I was pleased to see Willett win, he played well and he was willing to give it up if his baby was not born before the Masters so I really admired him for being a dad and husband before he was a Master’s golfer. 1.8 million will buy a lot of diapers 🙂

With the three holes in one on 16 I had a hope that Spieth might hit it but it wasn’t to be. What memories those guys will have though.

By the way, did you notice how much Davis Lovie looked like Chief Justice Roberts?

I had to do a double take.

Yes. Was considered a hazard area, yet was almost impossible to determine visually, spectators had been standing and walking through the area, and the course was kind of grassy/sandy everywhere. No intention of breaking the rule, but did. Sad.
Then last year at the US Open, he hit the two most fantastic, pressure filled shots (again). but couldn’t two putt from about 10 feet away. Heart breaking, could be spirit crushing, yet he still comes back, although close up is best he does in these majors.
Like his style, his power, and I’ve always been an underdog/badboy fan. Yes, I grew up and remain an Oakland fan, both Raiders and A’s.

Lights Go Out On Solar Power After British Government Cuts Subsidies –

A fall in solar power was expected following a 65% reduction in government incentives paid to householders, but the size of the drop-off will dismay green campaigners who want take up on clean energy sources to accelerate.

Data published by the energy regulator this week shows there was 21 megawatts (MW) of small solar installed in February and March this year, after a new, lower incentive rate came into effect. By contrast, energy department figures show that for the same period in 2015, 81MW was installed.

The cuts were announced just days after energy secretary Amber Rudd helped agree the historic Paris climate deal, and have bankrupted several solar companies. The government says the changes were necessary to protect bill payers, as the solar incentives are levied on household energy bills.

More power news: FBI Warns of Cyber Threat to Electric Grid – DHS intel report downplayed cyber threat to power grid

Three months after a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report downplayed the threat of a cyber attack against the U.S. electrical grid, DHS and the FBI began a nationwide program warning of the dangers faced by U.S. utilities from damaging cyber attacks like the recent hacking against Ukraine’s power grid.

The nationwide campaign by DHS and the FBI began March 31 and includes 12 briefings and online webinars for electrical power infrastructure companies and others involved in security, with sessions in eight U.S. cities, including a session next week in Washington.

I’m honestly surprised terrorists haven’t already did this. I remember awhile back a construction worker cut through a line with a backhoe and shut down power, power lines, cable and it totally shut the entire town down, even WalMart closed. People were in a panic, you would have thought it was the end of the world. They got it repaired and everything back up and running in about 5 hours, but during those 5 hours it was hilarious for those of us not in town.
All they had to do was drive about 10 miles from town and they could find electricity and working cell towers. I never was 100% sure if the cell towers were because of that or a different problem.

I think that was the first time I ever saw an entire town come to a standstill. Just a few short years ago stores would have remained open for cash sales, but I guess nobody has cash anymore. I also realized how the city isn’t that smart to have so much tied together that one cut in a line could cause so many outages.

For what it’s worth, went and worked on the home of the assistant/aide to our local congressman up here in NorCal earlier this week. Was’nt sure how it’d go, was pepared to go toe to toe in support of Trump. But, as we got to talking and I voiced my support, she blurted out “Me too!” .
We had a lively conversation, she is all in! She is dismayed that her employer, Doug LaMalfa the congressman, was leaning Cruz, but said it was party “motivated”, and she was working on him. She was a delegate last election, a Mormon and backed Romney, but now despises the man. She is on board and working to be a delegate again. Said if Trump is ripped off she was going independent, even if it costs her her job.
Anyways, made my day and gives me hope my state will be a part in Making America Great Again.
