I truly worry about the future of our children and grandchildren and not just because our government is turning us into a 3rd world craphole. The majority of our farmers and ranchers are old and their children and grandchildren don’t have the desire or the backbone to carry on the tradition. The few that do the government and special interests make it almost impossible for them. Only a minority of our population truly know how to feed themselves.
I had to pull over yesterday and shed some tears when I saw them breaking ground for a new housing addition on an old farmer’s land. Years ago he owned an almost 2 mile section, over the years due to hardship he had to slowly sell off his land until he was down to 200 acres, roughly 100 for cattle and 100 for crops. He passed away and his wife was moved into a retirement community and the offspring sold his land to developers.
A neighbor said to me that people needed a place to live, so more housing was good and it gave people a job. I told her she doesn’t see the big picture, he was a truck farmer and pounds and pounds of vegetables now won’t be in the marketplace, pounds of beef that one less rancher will be providing. People need a place to live, but people need food and where is that food going to come from when all the farm land has houses sitting on it and the government has the rest set aside not being used?

Michellc, that the idea, small farm, farming will be history in the next 50 years. Large commercial farming, cheap labor, mass production of beef. Have you ever been to a “Veal” farm? Once I’m gone, this land can not be sold, held in trust. Here in PA the only true “small farmers” are the Amish………the real Amish.

Don’t worry, the Feds have plans to redistribute foods from the ants to the grasshoppers. Judt wait until the full effect of the Chinese ownership of US food production hits the store shelves.

FTA: If, through rules changes, subterfuge and faithless delegates, party elites swindle him out of the nomination, do they think that the millions who came out to vote for Trump will go home and say: We lost it fair and square?
Do they think they can then go back to open borders, amnesty, a path to citizenship, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and nation building?
Whatever happens to Trump, the country has spoken. And if the establishment refuses to heed its voice, and returns to the policies the people have repudiated, it should take heed of John F. Kennedy’s warning:
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable.”

That’s what I thought too. And they most probably will, and the sheeple will go back to pasture placidly. But at some point the most placid of sheep is going to get hungry.
I don’t think it will be until there is no choice though. The vast majority of Americans don’t want to be disturbed from their beer and reality tv life.

Every few hundred years it seem that ancient history is deemed worthless and is discarded, but the lessons contained within are what all the governments of today are based upon. Hiding history allows people to do with many things they would have been stopped and locked up for otherwise.
What has happened in the past has been that a few generations after total government corruption has been is in control, the young coming into power don’t know why history was hidden in the first place and restore as much of it as they can find for the sake of popularity.
It took about 500-700 years for Western civilization to come up with the US constitution from the last big dark ages and it only ran as created for about 12 years. It’s been under constant attack for about 200 years now.

At the Fox town hall in Milwaukee before the cameras were rolling Sean spent at least 15 minutes chatting with the audience. At least two different people said not so nice things about Megyn Kelly, both times Sean laughed and said something along the line of “What? I’m having audio problems and can’t hear you.” But he was smiling and laughing and it appears that he is not too fond of her on a personal level.
That Trump negotiated for Roger Ailes is very interesting.

Back before we got rid of satellite and I watched the Five, I never really could make myself like Gutfield, he’d crack some funny jokes from time to time but he just always seemed like a little smarta$$ with a spoiled brat streak who would take his ball and go home.
I always kept my opinion to myself about Dana Perino as well, because most seemed to think she was sweet. I always viewed her like the head cheerleader type who acted sweet to your face while she was sticking a knife in your back and I never liked her weak, whining personality. That was just the vibe I always got from her. Most of the time I liked Bolling, but he at times was very annoying as well. All of them just really seemed out of touch with the rest of the country to me anyway.
To be perfectly honest Fox had became unwatchable for me long before we got rid of satellite.

Yes. I was intrigued by that. For him to be brought in to something like that, not even being a lawyer, means he has a lot of trust and respect from these people in high places. I think it also means that they know he will do what he says he will do and that is why they are fighting against him so hard now. Another point, I think it also speaks to his negotiating skills.

It means Trump knows some of Ailes skeletons and more importantly Ailes knows that Trump knows, and Trump knows Ailes knows 😜. Remember when Trump was first campaigning how many times he said “Believe me. I know these people.” I said it it a long time ago but Trump is a master with words what he does not say is often as important as what he does say.
Trump is walking breathing safety deposit box.

I wonder if we could start a Geriatric Killer Gang and get paid more than Social Security to not kill and rob people. Like the Blacks in Richmond. Instead of paying the killers they should start a good gang for them. A chain gang in the swamp.
Gang members in Richmond are being paid $1,300 a month to stop shooting each other and even get to go on all expenses paid trips to New York (if they travel with a rival)

I’d mentioned the US peacekeeping troops as targets way back when we had the problems with Islamic smuggling rockets through the Sinai, and thst was a while back. Thing is we’ve had troops there with the UN bufer forces for decades and they’ve been an open target for as long. Problem now is that ISIS isn’t like the Palestinians or Hamass, they’ll take the chance of a US retaliation, limited as that chance may be, as the operation’s a UN one and the UN has proven over the decades to be as generous with throwing US lives away as the POtuS is.
They should have a method of responding to an attack, slow as it msy be, I just remember the Marines in Beirut and how little we did to respond to that Iranian attack.

Well, they both wear long white dresses. Truth be told, if I had seen the friar walking across campus, I would probably not have thought about the KKK, but that he was going to a costume party. I can’t remember when I have ever seen, other than TV or movies, a religious man in robes outside of the church. 😯

Our priests, although not members of a religious order, almost always wear a cassock. Two of them led a group to Rome this week, and Father has posted pics of them wandering the streets in their cassocks, even on vacation. Of course, that is just fitting in over there.

P.S. The first priest I ever saw was standing with my future mother in law in his cassock. They both had beautiful white hair, and for a moment I wasn’t sure who was who. That holy man later married us and baptized me and all our children. But I had never seen a cassock before, and I didn’t quite know what in the world it was. They fell out of use for a time among most priests. I find it comforting, reassuring to see them about the parish and downtown in their black robes.

I read it was the rosary. If you look in the picture you see that they have a very long rosary tucked and hanging from the belt, all five decades.
