Someone asked the other day who he should call if he spotted voter fraud. I mentioned True The Vote, and it appears that some people are unaware of the good work they have been doing. I found out since then that they have a smartphone app, called VoteStand, to report voter fraud: http://www.votestand.com/
Here is information from True The Vote’s “About” page:
Our Republic flourishes when citizens are confident that their vote is free, fair, and secure. Yet, according to a recent survey 81% of Americans believe that election fraud is a very real problem. This growing concern jeopardizes our entire system of government, eroding our trust in elected leaders and undermining our confidence in the system by which they govern – beginning at the polls and rising up through the highest offices in the land.
True the Vote was established in 2009, after a small group of volunteers worked at our local polls and witnessed firsthand both the need for well-trained election workers and blatant, undeniable acts of election fraud. Since then, we’ve continued to grow – and now we’re a national organization, providing comprehensive, state-specific programs of education, research, and support for volunteers in all 50 states. We have empowered fellow citizens, increased public awareness, advocated for continued election improvements and reforms, and spoken out about the misleading messaging of those who insist voter fraud does not exist. It does.
As you read through the pages of our website, we hope you will gain a better understanding of who we are and what we do. Our purpose is really very simple – to remind voters that they are the safeguards of our representative democracy. Together, we can ensure that our voting process truly does reflect the will of the People. Together, we can True the Vote.
Catherine Engelbrecht, the founder of True The Vote, is a small business owner in Texas who wanted to do something about voter fraud that she had observed as a polling place volunteer. She became known to the general public when she testified before a House subcommittee regarding IRS treatment she received when attempting to obtain non-profit status for her organization. Although you may not remember her name, I am sure you will remember what happened. She was subject to Congressional investigation by Elijah Cummings regarding her organization’s activities during the 2012 election. What she has said about her experiences with government agencies since founding TTV (TOWNHALL):
President and founder of the election integrity group True the Vote Catherine Engelbrecht testified in front of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs yesterday about the IRS targeting of her group and her personal business. Before 2009, Engelbrecht was not part of the political process, but after volunteering at the polls during Texas elections, she saw instances of fraud and abuse that she didn’t think could go unexposed. Her decision to found her election integrity group would get her multiple visits from a handful of federal government agencies.
“My life before I spoke out for good government stands in stark contrast to the life I now lead. As a wife, a mother, and small businesswoman working with my husband, raising our children and participating in my church and PTA, the government collected my taxes and left me and my family in peace. But when I helped found and led True the Vote and King Street Patriots, I found myself a target of this federal government,” she said. “Shortly after filing IRS forms to establish 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations, an assortment of federal entities including law enforcement agencies and a Congressman from Maryland, Elijah Cummings came knocking at my door. In nearly two decades of running our small business, my husband and I never dealt with any government agency, outside of filing our annual tax returns. We had never been audited, we had never been investigated, but all that changed upon submitting applications for the non profit statuses of True the Vote and King Street Patriots. Since that filing in 2010, my private businesses, my nonprofit organizations, and family have been subjected to more than 15 instances of audit or inquiry by federal agencies.”
Engelbrecht was audited by the IRS, ATF and received multiple visits by OSHA and ATF.“I found myself a target of this federal government,” she said.
As an example of the kind of work they do, here is an email update I received today:
How the Obama DOJ enables noncitizen voter registration
For weeks now, we’ve been exposing the quick-moving strategy of progressive interest groups that are litigating to remove citizenship verification measures in a small handful of states — before it spreads to others. Last week, the country saw that even the Obama Justice Department is willing to carry their water, despite the DOJ’s responsibility to defend federal laws and regulations. By now, you know the who and what of the story. Let’s look at the how.
Unlike most federal agencies indexed within the Executive Branch, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is an independent office. Its members are appointed equally by Congress and the President. This framework was designed to engineer compromise and cooperation, regardless of who controlled the other branches of government. Under normal circumstances, any litigation directed toward the EAC would leave the DOJ duty-bound to represent the Commission in court.
Last week, the DOJ went out of its way to advocate for the plaintiffs’ positions, while serving as defense counsel. These actions led the EAC to demand its own representation in court to defend recent actions while it continues to face stiff pushback from the Administration’s lawyers. TTV Advisory Board member Hans A. von Spakovsky’s latest column on the matter further explains just how far the DOJ is willing to go to block citizenship checks in voter registration; read it here. Then, stay tuned. The next court date is set for March 9 to iron out issues of discovery and a preliminary injunction.

Good post Stella.
Seems everyday my eyes get opened a bit more. Unbelievable to most, me included, that our government, which is put in place to serve the people, is so opposite to what its true purpose is. To serve and protect, the citizens of THIS country.
I’ve known for a long time that I was just a “glorified” slave. That yes, I could live in a higher or lower level according to my level of desire. Could have a bigger house, newer car, swimming pool etc., if I really put the effort in. Or choose to be satisfied with less, my choice.
There are “elites”, true enough, todays royalty. It is well known, possibly even acceptable to most. But to have our own government, which is elected by us, and “constitutionally” bound, to behave in this manner, and so many others as I learn daily, is not only an outrage, but totally unacceptable. It is thinly guised tyranny.
It is probably the “why” we are drawn to Mr. Trump so fiercely, and also the “why” those in control are against him so fiercely. As so many have stated, he may not be perfect, but he is headed in the direction that all of those who care to see, are choosing.
Thanks, and I am so glad ( and mortified ) to have found you all. Good to know that there are many wise, informed and like minded souls out there. You all have become “family”, in all of your diverse ways.
