The John Wayne press conference was very telling.
Chuck Launder slapped the press right across the face and Trump tells them he and Launder like John Wayne better than they like the press because “He was honest unlike you.” 😀
And Holy Moly! The press is reporting 120 caucus trainees as 12. I really hope Trump runs the table.
Reporter “Why do you sue people in the press?” Trump, “Because you are the most dishonest people I have ever met.”
And then Trump went for Rove and Reince’s jugular by simply stating that the serious establishment types are begging to get on the Trump Train.

Support of biofuels is a mistake, in my opinion, but I’m sure it plays well in Iowa.

I haven’t been able to watch. I thought burning corn was a big fail. Is that what they are talking about? I think the hucksters still run around here trying to get investment clubs to pay for into the lifestyles of board members.

That’s what they are talking about – ethanol. The group he spoke to here are the ethanol producers, and I don’t support the pandering to them here. I know it’s politics, but with fuel prices at a 12-year low, and a glut of oil on the market, it’s pretty hard to justify supporting ethanol. It’s expensive, and it is corrosive to engines.

I thought all the companies trying to make a product to use ethanol went under (except for perhaps decorative bathroom fireplaces).

Ethanol is still in gasoline, so somebody must be making it.

Oh they make ethanol by the bucket, they just don’t have anything that was made to use it exclusively. All the products failed. As I recall they are forced to add it to gas by some law in the last 10 years.

Federal mandates. See link (below).

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn someone with a lot of money invested in ethanol helped write that mandate.

Yup. Renewable Fuel Standard set forth in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. There is no market for ethanol so they forced one into existence.

And Trump stated today that he supports Renewable Fuels.

supporting an idea is different than supporting a specific conspiracy. While Trump is good at what he does, I’ve heard him say things about the tech industry that made my eyes roll.

So what I got out of it was that he’s not going to rock the boat and stop anything, in fact he’ll ease regulations so they can make more on their investments. I didn’t take that as support so much. More like he has immediate priorities to deal with and the economy will stabilize if the government gets it’s fingers out of things.

Trump calls for higher ethanol mandate
http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/266339-trump-calls-for-higher-ethanol-mandate
Donald Trump said Tuesday that federal regulators should increase the amount of ethanol blended into the nation’s gasoline supply.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, Trump, a real estate mogul and the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ought to follow the ethanol volumes Congress set in 2007.
“The EPA should ensure that biofuel … blend levels match the statutory level set by Congress under the [renewable fuel standard],” Trump said.
The mandate is popular in Iowa, which hosts the nation’s first caucuses.

I despise ethanol and as someone who loves her old vehicles with their old engines finding 100% gas is very difficult.
So I do not support Trump on this issue.
Then again I’ve said since the day I started supporting him, I’m a one issue voter this year and that is immigration. We can worry about all the other stuff later, we have to save our country first because if we don’t do that, the other stuff will no longer matter.

Not to mention giving to corn farmers takes away from other farmers and it has a large role in my feed costs.

It’s merely the old “friends of friends” payback bull. The entire biofuels bs is payback to those that supported whomever and it’s where it is today. THEY know it won’t work, WE know it won’t work – even with federal mandates. But those that owe try hard to pay back knowing that they won’t pay the bill, WE will.
Those idiotic giant windmills hooked up to nothing is the biggest scam I’ve ever personally witnessed in my life. Total bullshit – turning round and round impressing the press and morons, and doing….. nothing, except killing wildlife.

Just ask that rent-seekin’ POS, T. Boone. Built a jillion whirly-gigs in West Texas that the rubes in SA and HOU are payin’ for in their electric bill every month and now he’s back on the NatGas bandwagon again, trying to stir up money…..er, support for gubmint cheese with that. Bastige! 👿

The whirly-gigs aren’t hooked up! Little known secret – they’re built ALL over God ‘n creation, but few are hooked up to anything. Unbelievable bullshit – I see a future in removing scrap metal (and a LOT of it) from peep’s ranches in the form of rusting, unworking whirly-gigs – I hope to live long enough to see it.
Ya’s can’t STORE wind-power. It’s nuts and these assholes that push it should rot in hell.

They won’t be torn down until the ranchers quit gettin’ paid their monthly rent check. Once those stop it’s gonna be a race to the bottom.

They turned the windmills off in Eastern Washington a few years ago. I don’t recall the reason given, just that the public noticed and demanded to know why. They could be running again for all I know.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Um, I would posit because 1) they weren’t hooked up to anything, and 2) IF hooked up, at best they’d only work while the wind was blowing. Kinda like that experiment we did with miniature windmills as kids.

I like that they get upset with the dams hurting fish, but birds getting chopped up is ok.

The bird murder is horrible. Plus, if you’ve ever seen one blow up, flying debris, blades does quite a number on cattle, livestock (whatever), deer – these greenpeace-thinking-save-the-earth asses are murderers.

Again, according to more than one book written in the late 1790’s, the scientific revolution got coopted by people of the time of enlightenment to prove there is no God, and therefore no anointed Sovereign was legitimate.
So all the climate change, tree hugging, fish kissing, evolution stuff is a driverless wagon rolling down hill for the last 200 years.
