I won’t be driving today, they have high water barricades set up across the county.
I sure hope next year is not quite as wet as this year has been. On the bright side, the county still hasn’t fixed our washed out road, so we won’t have to pay to have it all redone as the dimwits are just redoing it the same way.

We are supposed to get “ice pellets” tomorrow afternoon (1″ or less), then snow next Saturday (1/2/16). Just cloudy the rest of the week, and average temps.

Okay, I have to ask. What is an ice pellet? My friend in Jersey has taught me a lot about snow and ice on the roads, but I don’t remember pellets?

Ice pellets are a form of precipitation consisting of small, translucent balls of ice. Ice pellets are smaller than hailstones which form in thunderstorms rather than in winter, and are different from graupel (“soft hail”) which is made of frosty white rime, and from a mixture of rain and snow which is a slushy liquid or semisolid.

It’s starting to sound like some ice is mixed with the rain now. Guess I’ll find out in the morning. I just hope it doesn’t start snowing as the wind is howling.
We really need the rain to stop, even my hill is starting to look like a lake.
It was such beautiful weather Christmas day, the sun was shining and we were outside in short sleeves, then yesterday morning the skies opened up and it hasn’t let up since.
Reading the road conditions it appears the entire state is either dealing with flooded roads and highways or slick roads and highways.

Still just sheets of rain, roads are closed down all over. Water is going over the top of the dam about 10 miles from here.
Internet and cell phones have been spotty all day, don’t know what’s up with that.
All the ice and snow though is west, but they keep claiming it’s going to get here.

Here is an absolutely fascinating series on the Bethlehem star, and if you follow each post, it takes you all the ways through the crucifixion and Pentecost, the end premise being that God, when he created the Universe, knew from the first moment of creation when He would enter human life as Jesus, and when he would die and send the Holy Spirit. Bookmark it because there are a series of posts to read, each detailing celestial events that actually happened, and how they meet the predictions in the Bible.
This was utterly fascinating.
