I’ll say “Good Morning” to everyone early, dose up on some bone broth I had pressure canned earlier in the season, and toddle off and try and get some sleep.

I like to surf the “This Day in History” type websites from time to time. Dec 17th, 1905 was the inaugural flight of the Orville and Wright in Kitty Hawk, NC. Sadly, reading through the list, December 17th is also a day noted by acts of terror at various times in history all over the world.

Keep your head on a swivel, all.

17 Arrests Result From Ongoing Investigation Into Murder Of Jessica Chambers

JACKSON, Miss. — An investigation into the death of a teenager burned alive last year has resulted in the arrests of 17 men — but none has been charged with killing Jessica Chambers, the FBI said Tuesday.

The crimes were uncovered as authorities probed the 19-year-old’s death, and that case is continuing more than a year after Chambers was doused with gasoline and set afire a little after 8 p.m. CT Dec. 6, 2014, near Courtland, Miss., about 150 miles north of Jackson.

She got out of her car, was found on the road with burns over most of her body and died hours later at a Memphis hospital.

Sometimes when you don’t see immediate results, it’s because they want to double super pluss up the evidence against the slime so they can’t slither away on technicalties.

This is good news, as these slime are now off the streets (for now). I will continue to pray that the people who tormented Jessica will be found and brought to justice but this a good step towards that goal.

Just some fun information for people reading history….

    The 1752 Calendar Change
    http://libguides.ctstatelibrary.org/hg/colonialresearch/calendar

The changeover involved a series of steps:
•December 31, 1750 was followed by January 1, 1750 (under the “Old Style” calendar, December was the 10th month and January the 11th)
•March 24, 1750 was followed by March 25, 1751 (March 25 was the first day of the “Old Style” year)
•December 31, 1751 was followed by January 1, 1752 (the switch from March 25 to January 1 as the first day of the year)
•September 2, 1752 was followed by September 14, 1752 (drop of 11 days to conform to the Gregorian calendar)

George Washington, for example, was born on February 11, 1731 under the Julian Calendar, but afterwards recognized the date February 22, 1732 to reflect the Gregorian Calendar.

I read a lot – and have read that this screwed peeps (alive at the time) up for the rest of their lives, as they had to think “both ways.”

Naval aviation still follows and enters their logs using the Julian calendar. I think that’s the last time the Navy ordered new aircraft too. /s/

              WeeWeed,
The Mighty 8th Air Force was one of the most hard core organizations in American military History.
              http://mightyeighth.org/learn/history-of-the-mighty-eighth-air-force/
They apparently lost about half the manpower assigned to them. They epitomized the application of logistics, industrial production technology and serious amounts of fortitude upon a designated enemy state.
The movie “Memphis Belle” captures some of the feel of a Fortress in combat, I’m told.
Curtis Lemay (the cigar guy who ran with Goldwater) was a hard charger. When faced with plummeting morale due to massive losses in combat, he personally flew lead on missions. Those who refused to fly were court martialled.
His leadership by example with such consequences is likely not to be seen in the Bergdahl (swap a traitor for 5 serious Jihadis and call it good) era. LeMay did not have an EEO rep or a commisar pestering him, he had a war to win.
I say this not out of mindless patriotism. An uncle of mine died on a B-24 over Nazi Germany. The stakes were, and are, real.
The Nazis would have done it to us if we had not done it to them first. To bad for Western civilization that FDR was such a water carrier for Stalin and the global progressive movement (Plan Morgenthau was a real genocide as well). Patton was right. Then he died, too.

It’s snowing. An old neighbor I once had claimed he could tell how many days it would snow by the first snow. I had not thought of that in years until my SIL called and said it was snowing and it popped into my head, 17 snow days this winter.lol He asked if it was accurate, I told him I had no idea because I had never tested it before. I don’t even know why now after twenty-something years I suddenly remember it.
