Last night’s Nightline details that flawed background checks allowed Iraqi terrorist into the United States as part of a refugee program. The story centers on two men who settled in Bowling Green, KY, living on public assistance. They were part of an Al Qaeda terrorist group that had killed American soldiers in Iraq, and were actively seeking weapons and explosives to kill again.
This is a fascinating and compelling story – particularly the way in which they used forensics to discover proof that the men had killed Americans in Iraq.
The FBI is currently investigating. They believe there could be dozens of other terrorists that have been approved to enter the United States as refugees. The screening process is completely flawed.
