The Islamic State (ISIS) (Yahoo via Reuters) claims that an IED in a Schweppes can was used to destroy a Russian plane last month over Egypt’s Sinai. 224 passengers and crew lost their lives.

“The divided Crusaders of the East and West thought themselves safe in their jets as they cowardly bombarded the Muslims of the Caliphate,” the English language Dabiq magazine said in reference to Russia and the West. “And so revenge was exacted upon those who felt safe in the cockpits.”
This confirms what Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier this week, although the Egyptian government has not confirmed that their investigation concludes that a bomb was used. Isis claims that they found and used a hole in the security at the Sharm al-Sheikh airport to smuggle the bomb on board.
