PRIEBUS OUT: Trump names HS secretary Kelly as new chief of staff

July 28, 2017 5:37 pm

Many of us saw this coming, and I know that the decision will please most of you!

I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff. He is a Great American….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 28, 2017

…and a Great Leader. John has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security. He has been a true star of my Administration

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 28, 2017

I would like to thank Reince Priebus for his service and dedication to his country. We accomplished a lot together and I am proud of him!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 28, 2017

Business Insider:

Trump commented about the move further to reporters as he returned from Long Island after giving a speech there Friday afternoon.

“Reince is a good man,” Trump told pool reporters after he got off of Air Force One. “John Kelly will do a fantastic job. General Kelly has been a star, done an incredible job thus far, respected by everybody. He’s a great great American. Reince is a good man.”

The episode marked the end of a weeklong saga involving Priebus and new White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci. Priebus had worked hard to block Scaramucci’s appointment, but Trump decided to hire him anyway.

Immediately after Scaramucci’s hiring, White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced he was resigning. Spicer was Priebus’ closest White House ally based on both of their past work for the Republican National Committee.

  3. Interesting aside it is Paul Ryan’s district that has a 97% chance of getting Foxconn.

$10 Billion dollar factory, 13,000 jobs, just imagine the economy it will spark outside of the factory itself.

Keeping his enemies happy and busy?

I could not be more pleased that Reince has been kicked to the curb. Finally I feel like President Trump has someone on his team with nuggets!

    2. Okay, no doubt I’m dumb, but none of the explanations as to why he chose Priebus to begin with made sense to me. Why was he ever there?

Whatever the reason, clearly the President is learning.

      1. First you are the farthest thing from dumb Menagerie.

I was just thinking about why Reince last night.

I think that President Trump had to make the cognitive and active jump from the business world to the “Swamp of DC” world. In business whoever is better at the art of the deal is the winner, it shakes itself out once a purchase or deal has been completed. That I think is the mindset that citizen Trump went into his candidacy. I think Trump believed as in business deals there would be a clear line drawn once a deal was done, Trump won the election, and he honestly thought that people on the opposing end of the negotiations would not be happy that he won but they would put the best interests of America first.

Who would sabotage their own country/company? There is only one America so thinking logically those invested in America would want it to succeed regardless of who is the CEO. President Trump learned that America is being treated as the the Enron of countries by all the people on the the opposing team and many members of his own team. Trump is faced with a bunch of Bernie Madoffs.

So why Reince in the first place? My personal opinion is twofold President Trump wanted to see how entrenched the anti-Trumpers are and Trump wanted to get to know Reince and the underbelly of the Swamp. I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that President Trump learned far more about the Swamp than Reince learned about Trump during his tenure. Trump is looking at 8 years as president he is still negotiating. Still learning. He is probably a bit flabbergasted at the opposition and sabotage directed at him and his agenda but if we learned anything about him he is a quick learner and think several steps ahead of the game. I suspect things are about to calm down over the next couple of months and flies are going to drop.

There is no way Scaramuccci’s phone call was happenstance. Reince is a rat and now he knows that President Trump knows he is a rat. They will play cordial in the sandbox because Reince has been backed into a corner.

Scott Walker, Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus, Ron Johnson are some of the most powerful men in America because of the money and power that came to WI during the Act 10 and recall war. Business man Trump knows that he has to keep his enemies on his own team appeased to some degree this Foxconn deal is going to keep WI very busy and I can’t imagine where it would go other than Ryan’s district.

          1. Yep, Scaramucci’s phone interview with whoever it was, was a strategic move. Calling Reince a leaker and a paranoid schizophrenic had me laughing my butt off.

I saw a headline that read “Reince once called to the Oval Office by President Trump to kill a fly”.

            😂

I didn’t read the article (I think it was on NYP) as I didn’t think the article could be better than the headline.
