  1. Woo hoo, start of a new month…another 30 days to listen to the swamp drying.

      1. Looks like my ‘low area’ along the road except not as densely treed. I use it to soak up drainage from uphill on either side but with the bust beavers out damming up the drainage ditch I have lots of standing water like that.

      2. My folks’ lake in FL is normally a lake. Now their “dock” is an observation deck, looking out at a pond, 30 feet away.

        He giveth, and he taketh.

        1. The only place lakes stay at one comfortable level is Disney World. Ours has gone from feast to famine and back, just one of the things that keep life interesting.

          1. My mom thinks the lake is low because of all the orange groves and their gigantic deep-well water pumps sucking all the water out of Florida.

            I told her, authoritatively, that the wells they use are more than 1,000 feet deep, and not even part of the same water table.

            But, like Sharon said here the other day… do I really KNOW that? I don’t. I probably read it somewhere, or my cousin, at his new orange grove with his own giant pump, told me that when we visited them two Christmases ago. But I don’t really know.

            1. Yeah, when I was in Florida as a kid in the 50s we had sinkholes, developers digging huge canals to dewater swamps to created development land, water flow to and from the Everglades. I look at it like I do southern Louisiana, the pols took the oil interests’ monies and letnthem do whatever they wanted to do and a lot of what they did went a loooooong way to destroying the coast.
              Louisiana’s coast, Florida’s water supplies, all that selling of public properties for political gain and now the pols are all pointing guilt fingers in different directions, blaming everyone but themselves and demanding Federal money to ‘solve’ it.
              Therecused to be a huge swamp area west of West Palm Beach, really huge, and it served as a water holding area that fed the aquifer. As we were leaving in 1960 we watched the dredges move in and dig huge canals to dry it out, build houses and hundreds of little strip malls. I look at it on Google Earth and I’m amazed at how so many square miles can be dried out and paved over…all the while residents wondering why that delicate Florida water system’s not working.

        2. Our lake/pond normally has water up to the grass. Now we have about 10′ to 15′ of “beach”. The fish are all going to die soon.

      3. I have seen enough rain for a few weeks. All this rain this year has sure caused lots of problems. Every time we plan on working on our drive that washed out and is worse than a cattle trail getting up we get another 5 inches.
        My yard keeps looking like a jungle because we can hardly find a dry enough day to mow. Then when we do it only looks like a yard for a day or two before we’re hoping it will dry up again.
        Come July and August though we’ll be praying for rain. 🙂

          1. Because we live on a hill we don’t have much standing water, but because we live on a hill everything gets washed downhill, which in turn has washed out holes big enough to swallow you on our drive. Most of our gravel is on the dirt county road at the bottom.

            1. A portion of my childhood chores was spent refilling both the driveway and the crumbling edge of the back yard. Yup. Dad built our house on a sand dune. Kind of funny, looking back. That’s when he had us all going to church and reading the Bible and stuff. You know, that book that talks about not building on sand?

              2. It’s going to take more than refilling this time, that’s why we need at least 3 days of no rain to repair it this time. It’s going to take digging out the ditches and a front end loader and a dozer.

                If we lived on sand we’d already be washed away. lol

            My local schools’ last day is June 16. It depends on the district. There are a minimum number of days required by the state, and the end date varies depending on the number of days off during the year.

    I’m going to be watching this series with interest. Thry say they are going to give this series sort of a free teign but as the subject impacts heavily upon the Hollyork glitterati’s actions and cannot be addressed hobestly without getting deeply into politics, especially the actions of some Hollyork political darlings.
    Sort of on that subject the Tom Cruise movie ‘Mena’, a Hollywood biographical treatment of Bsrty Seal is now scheduled to be released September 29, 2017. At one time it was suppised to be released around last year’s election but got mysteriously pushed forward to a point
    where any reactions to it, regardless of who was elected, would be moot. I already saw one recent biopic on a DEA agent’s life that totally threw Seal’s murder into far leftbfield, let’s see if Cruise want’s to put the truth out there or help cover up the Seal issue and the American drug industry in particular. Ain’t as if a goodly portion of the illegal drugs in this country don’t go up their noses, into their lungs, through their veins…

      1. I’ve posted this a number of times – if the War on Drugs was being waged with great vigor how come the price of a kilo of coke has dropped over the last few decades? Ain’t me, you can go to the DEA site and dig thru thier reports and find that. Also the price of opiates, meth, you name it, and the availability is such there’s really no rural area in the US you can’t find them.
        We have drug components delivered to your door by the USPS from China…geez, USPS and DEA can’t even scratch that? The pressure from the illegal drug industry and politicians to make illegal drugs legal, starting with marijuana, a gateway drug to full immersion in altered states. How about the Mex cartel operating a drug distribution system out of Chicago that supplied the entire US midwest and brought in more in yearly profits than the Chicago Mercantile Exchange? DEA missed thst one? Oh yeah, theybfinally busted the head of it but have you heard that stopped the flow of drugs enough to reduce their availability?
        Forget the little foibles in crooked third world countries, they are distractions, how ’bout dem drug issues here and who’s profiting?

                “It’s nonsense for anyone to now try to suggest that Bono died after crashing into a tree,” Gunderson said in an a piece posted in Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper on April 4, 2008.
                Ted Gunderson was supposedly poisoned later on for saying chemtrails are dangers and real.

                Said Gunderson: “There’s zero evidence in this autopsy report to show such an accident happened. Instead, there’s powerful proof he was assassinated.”’

      1. Phone pic. Cheap old ZTE phone, cruddy camera compared to the phone I had before this one. The last phone I had could take a pic of a leaf 1/4 the size of my pinky fingernail, and have it fill the screen in high-def. It was a microscope, essentially. I could literally focus on an object less than one inch from the lens. I could make Lincoln’s face on a penny fill your whole screen in high-def with that thing. My current camera stops focusing at about 8″ away, but I guess it takes pretty pictures otherwise.

        I can’t complain.

        And I have the luxury of being able to fully edit the photos with Photobucket’s editing features. Which is why the color in that one is so vivid.

  7. At the risk of revealing myself to be a total nut job I became mildly obsessed with the Hillary atrophied excuses for losing the election interview and watched the entire thing with great delight. Watching her try and spin the election loss on anything other than her being a horrific person was bigly entertaining.

    So here we go 😎.

    “Look, I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that’s not why I lost, so I think it’s important that we learn the real lessons from this last campaign,” Clinton said during a question and answer session at the 2017 Code Conference.

    Here are the reasons that Hillary Clinton stated she lost the election.

    I kid you not she said each and everyone of these things.

    Hillary lost because;

    Hillary refused to weaponize Tech.

    Hillary refused to lie.

    Hillary refused to let the Russians help her.

    Hillary inherited nothing from the democratic party.

    The democratic party was bankrupt on the verge of insolvency.

    The democratic party had data that was mediocre to poor.

    The DNC data base was wrong.

    Hillary had to inject money into the DNC to keep it going.

    Donald Trump did nothing to help the RNC data operation yet inherited the RNC data that raised 100 million dollars between 2012 and 2016

    The RNC data information was tried and true and simply gifted to Trump.

    Cambridge Analytica/Mercer (the source of money and impetus for Brexit was on Trump’s side).

    The Mercers came to Jared Kusher and said that they would marry their money to Trump if he picked KellyAnne Conway and Steve Bannon to be on his team and Trump said “Fine who cares?!”

    The RNC was better at harvesting Facebook information.

    Hillary lost because;

    Breitbart ran false stories, untrue tales and lies about Hillary Clinton.

    🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
    The Russians.

    The Russians ran an extensive information war campaign against Hillary’s campaign to influence voters in the election.

    The Russians influenced the campaign through paid advertising, through false news sites, and through a thousand agents all working against Hillary.

    The Russians colluded with Americans so that the Russians would know who to target to take votes away from Hillary.

    The Russians created the story about Hillary’s email server being a security breach and against protocol even though it was perfectly ok to do what she did it and she never ever endangered any information 😇.

    The Russians stole Podesta’s emails.

    The Russians weaponized information.

    Guys in Macedonia 🇲🇰set up fake news sites to go after Hillary that looked like a low level CNN operation.

    The 🇷🇺Russians were guided by Americans who had polling information.

    The Russians dumped the John Podesta emails within an hour of the Trump 😽 grab story and then the Russians and Info-wars immediately began to weaponize the Podesta emails.

    The Comey letter which was based on Russian 🇷🇺disinformation.

    MSM was against Hillary.

    Trump people were screaming “Lock her up!” 🔑

    Google searches were very high in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for Wikileaks.

    Wikileaks is synonymous with 🇷🇺 Russia.

    Trump campaign officials colluded with the🇷🇺Russians.

    The marriage of the fake news operations and the capabilities of the Russians 🇷🇺 was rough on the Beast.

    Hillary lost the election because;

    Guccifer.

    DC leaks.

    Info Wars.

    Facebook was against Hillary.

    Putin 🇷🇺 has animus 😡 toward Hillary because she had run ins with him in the past.

    The attacks on Hillary were unprecedented 😭.

    The press refused to help Hillary get to the truth.

    Hillary was the victim of the broad assumption that she was going to win 🍾.

    Donald Trump is trying to turn the clock back on all the good things that have been achieved by Hillary and other liberals and Americans were on board with turing back time ⏰.

    Hillary lost the election because;

    Continuous assaults on the integrity of sources of information such as CNN and the Washington Post 😄.

    The Networks liked Donald because he made them money💰for them through advertising so they favored Trump and gave him more time on the TV .

    Hillary laid out serious plans for fixing America but Americans were not interested in her expertise 😜.

    Hillary did not get a fair amount of airtime in fact during 18 months she only got 32 minutes of airtime even though she gave tons of speeches 🤗.

    Misogyny.

    Hilary lost because she didn’t look like previous presidents 👴🏽.

    (Ha ha! As an aside the women host said neither did Obama but he was likable! No one there seemed to catch the humor.)

    But back to why Hillary lost the election;

    Hillary couldn’t get angry because our society doesn’t like angry women. Misogyny.

    Hillary couldn’t pound the podium 😡. Misogyny.

    Hillary got hammered for giving a hot 🤔speech about health care for children. Misogyny.

    8 of the top 10 documentaries on Netflix are screeds against Hillary or Obama 😏.

    Democrats aren’t giving enough of their money to the cause (The Cause = Hillary) 💰.

    Republicans are much more willing to cross the line than the good willed democrats 🙄.

    Did I mention that Hillary lost because she needed more money💰from donors to help overcome the horrible DNC data deficit ? Hillary will still take money💰 even though she is not running in 2020.

    Hillary lost the election because;

    Barack Obama saved the economy and he doesn’t get the credit he deserves and that hurt Hillary personally 😞.

    Hillary was swimming against a historic tide.

    Americans are an itchy people .

    Barack Obama was a two term president and people like change.

    Because people wanted to vote for someone who stirred them up rather than got the job done 💪🏽.

    Oh Snap! It was Obama’s people who failed Hillary in the IT department, yep she threw Obama right under the 🚌.

    Hillary lost because the other side lied.

    Hillary lost because of a 1000 🇷🇺 Russian agents.

    She lost because of the bots supporting Trump and people believing the bots 🤖.

    Hillary lost because she wouldn’t lie 🍒.

    Because Americans hate women 🙎🏼.

    Hillary lost because republicans own local television, the own radio, they’re better at the internet and they got cable going.

    Hillary lost because media forces on the republican side are entrenched and effective they are so entrenched and effective that a brute who was triggered by a simple question about healthcare became enraged and beat up a little reporter but then went on to win a Montana seat the very next day. This is proof of right wing media bias. PS. According to Hillary the media didn’t cover the Montana story because it was a liberal reporter and Hillary finds this terrifying!

    Hillary lost because;

    Bezos is hands off on editorial pieces whereas rightwing lunatics control their editors 😂.

    Trump gave a blank check to the Saudis and Russia.

    Hillary was unwilling to turn on our NATO allies 👩‍❤️‍👩.

    Hillary cares about history.

    Hillary believes in manmade climate change 🔥.

    Hillary thinks the Paris Agreement is good.

    Hillary is not stupid.

    Hillary is a fan of wind power.

    Covfefe <<< I almost laughed myself silly that Covfefe was brought up and TheBeast said something snide about how only Trump’s inner circle knew what it meant and rolled her eyes 😂.

    Hillary didn’t push the birther lie.

    Trump really understands how to enflame people, over any grievance, resentment, point of anger whether it is sex, race, xenophobia, Islamophobia, whatever it it is, Trump has an ability to exploit it.

    Americans allowed Donald Trump to have his own facts ✓.

    Donald Trump is an outrageous liar.

    She lost because;

    Because enough paper thinking voices did not push back.

    Because the American public could not get good honest information so they were incapable of making a rational choice for president 😜. (So does this mean President Trump was elected by a nation of Forrest Gumps?)

    Hillary lost because;

    The Comey letter .

    Suburban women.

    Bad polling data.

    Voter suppression.

    Wikileaks.

    The republicans put party before the country.

    The republican party didn’t see Donald Trump as a burden.

    Folks didn’t like the surrogates that Hillary sent to places like WI 😠.

    Scott Walker ran a very successful voter suppression campaign the best estimate is that 200,000 votes were suppressed or “chilled” in WI during the 2016 election.

    People were worried Hillary was going to jail 🚓.

    People were obsessing over Hillary running a pedophile ring out of a Pizzeria basement.

    She lost because;

    Low information voters 😮.

    Some people thought Hillary was a lizard 🐊. << In all fairness the lady host kept pushing this line and the Beast just said “Yes, I’m everything!”

    As a man gets more successful he get more popular regardless of his personality, as a woman gets more successful she gets less popular regardless of her personality. Misogyny 👵🏻

    Twitter made her a victim.

    Not enough of the wrong voices were cut off.

    People were overwhelmed by all the news.

    Twitter-bots.

    People didn’t realize that Trump and his allies are a threat.

    Trump trends worldwide.

    People didn’t realize that Trump is a classic authoritarian who wants to influence their reality.

    The big nothing burger 🍔 about her emails which was exploited by Wikileaks, the Russians, the MSM, Comey and Trump.

    The MSM made her Goldman Sachs money💰look nefarious.

    And that is the world according to Hillary Clinton.

    The real reason Hillary lost is much more simple. She lost because she is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

    The real reason President Trump won is equally as simple. He won because he is Donald J Trump.

        I didn’t plan on watching all of it but I wondered why it was so hard to find, then I started watching it and couldn’t believe my ears.

        She was very animated hands flying, eyes twitching, cackling laugh, it was downright bizarro-world stuff.

        Only a little throat clearing but who knows what they cut out.

        I was also interested in the direction that the democrats are going to take and it is my opinion that all the big donors are going to be rather angry with Clinton after this interview where she blamed their stinginess as part of the problem with the DNC.

        I’m hoping between the Bernie activists, the Clinton loyalists, the Obama ideologues, and the big money interests we are going to see a civil war within the ranks of the DNC like we have never seen before.

        I hope the entire party implodes.

    “Indivisible”. These folks are so hypocritically obtuse, obfuscatory and Orwellian with their use of language. It’s like they’re saying “WE are indivisible. THOSE people can’t divide us.” “WE are Stronger Together… notwithstanding THEM. Those others.”

    When Trump, for instance, says “We”, he means ALL AMERICANS.

    When a Democrat or Democrat organization says “we”, they mean THE PARTY LOYALISTS only.

    1. Ask journalists when they were last in a truck stop on an Interstate, last in Boone, North Carolina or Barstow, California or any of thousands of such towns across the country. Ask whether they were in the military, whether they have ever talked to a cop or an ambulance crewman or a fireman. Ask whether they have a Mexican friend, when they last ate in a restaurant where a majority of the customers were black. Whether they know an enlisted man, or anyone in the armed services. Whether they have hitchhiked overnight, baited a hook, hunted, or fired a rifle. Whether they have ever worked washing dishes, harvesting crops, driving a delivery truck. Whether they have a blue-collar friend. Know what the Texas Two-Step is, have been in a biker bar.

      Now do you see why Trump surprised them?

      Amen.

    Every war has its acronymic infestations.

    As a veteran and Army brat I had never heard of COVFEFE, but someone said it means “Command Objective Verified, Fucking Enemy Fully Engaged.”

  23. lilbirdee12’s prayer:

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

    Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

    Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
    Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

    We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
    Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

    In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
