Oh my! That carpet of flowers reminds me…………when the boys were about 9 and 11, we were backpacking in the Sierras in the spring, just when the spring bloom was going crazy.
As we were unpacking and setting up camp, I reminded them, “Hey, when you lay your sleeping bag down (we always just slept under the stars, no tents because no mosquitoes at 8-9,000 feet), remember not to lay it on any flowers.”
A moment of silence as I went on with my own unpacking, and then then the youngest one said, “But Mom, there’s isn’t anywhere there aren’t any flowers….”
So that night we slept under the stars on the flowers.

Actually, I think it’s very capitalistic. They want you to pay to join their site in order to see the comments. The content is free to everyone, though. On a site that has a huge readership, it takes a lot of time and money to moderate comments – and they DO need to be moderated. I have experience with it (on Conservative Treehouse), and you wouldn’t like it there if the comments weren’t moderated. So, Red State wants to earn money, and that’s one way to do it without charging to see content (like the New York Times, for example.)

TCTH is where I live! I also see where they had to re-platform a few years ago. The Left just couldn’t handle the points of view. From what I picked up, lots of lawyers there commenting. As a retiree now, my days of donating are seriously cut back. I also have lots more time to be a lurker. I see new sites coming onto the internet and I notice MOST have no commenting. I see that just because they have a Conservative bend to the articles, they are not necessarily Conservative. Anyway, Stella, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this blog! You and CTH are my main hang outs. I’ve dropped FB and am close to leaving Twitter. BTW I was never able to totally disengage from FB. All I could do 10 years ago was make it inactive. Could not delete. I still donate, just not as often or as much as I would like. I see “father time” being more kind to you in the future. Thank you.

Yes, WordPress didn’t like CTH content. Even more important, they didn’t like that TCH was paying relatively little for a website with a huge viewership and lots of overhead for them. In other words, they were losing money on us. The WordPress platform is really designed for small blogs, like mine. The annual fee to keep a blog on WordPress is really very inexpensive. Part of their Terms of Service was probably why they decided to terminate CTH:
Will not overburden or interfere with our systems or impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, as determined by us in our sole discretion;
The costs to CTH are now much higher.
We didn’t start CTH to make money, but that doesn’t mean that money isn’t made. It is, via ads, but Sundance has turned down other ways to make money, like paid subscribers. And, as I mentioned earlier, we do the administrative tasks free of charge, which isn’t that common.
Every blog owner makes decisions based on what they think is fair. For instance, the Locals platform has two levels of involvement. You can see much of the content for free, but they have a subscriber level which gives you more content.

American culture has invented many thousands of items used daily in the U.S. and around the world. A percentage is attributed to those Americans of African descent. Should blacks choose to refuse use of any item created by Caucasians (thus showing the “black” power the whiney female indicates blacks don’t have), they are free to do so.

On obvious genius, Carver was among those inventors we studied in grammar school. One of the things I remember was that he worked with Henry Ford on finding alternatives to petroleum products…amazing!

Amazing how this works as well. Ford losing BILLIONS on the EV operations. I would not doubt that GM is bleeding red ink as well. I like Elon as much as the next guy, but how much money would he be making at Tesla if he wasn’t getting the cash from selling tax credits to other companies to play green, and other rent-seeking activities.

Afternoon All. Cloudy here and almost 50*. I actually saw a few snowflakes yesterday and some today. One lady at church said they got a foot or so. She must live at the base of the mountains.
I went to Urgent Care yesterday. I don’t have anything wrong with me, but I told them I haven’t been able to get through to a doctor’s office to make an appt. And, I am needing a prescription for my BP meds. They were so sweet to me. I was already in their system because I had been there twice before, but they looked up a doctor who had an opening and made me an appt. and told me to come back to them if I didn’t want to stay, it was very busy there yesterday, and they would be able to get me in to see a doctor and renew my prescription.
Well, hope everyone is safe and well today.

That word was a new one on me and I’m sure to many others. I haven’t read his SPARE book and don’t intend to. But I do watch those who are reviewing it.
One woman has been comparing a book by a pal of H&M to the revelations in Harry Windsor’s book. There are several versions of how H&M met. There is much evidence that a lot of negativity H says about William and Catherine being stand-offish to M from the beginning is false.
I could go on and on about the “information disorder” which possesses H. He’s an object lesson in how to ruin one’s life.
