Song from the play, Pippa Passes
The year’s at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hillside’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn:
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!
-Robert Browning

And good morning to all ya’all. Headed for 85* and humid, no breeze, low chance of predicted rain today. Really don’t want to do anything outside.

For this new morning with its light;
For rest and shelter of the night;
For health and food, for love of friends;
For everything thy goodness sends;

The first verse of poetry my grandson Conner memorized this year at homeschool. Turns out he loves poetry and art. Not at all something I expected of my wild little seven year old boy.
Good morning everyone!

Mornin’, kids. Looks like another EV company has some work to do before they go mainstream. While we b*tch and moan at our legacy carmakers, there are things that they do a little bit better than these newfangled guys. Newbie got his vehicle stuck in some snow, tried to get it out on his own and the car locked down because of some sort of “safety” feature, and it cost him a $2100 tow bill. What I wanna know is how a 24 year-old can afford the $85K set of wheels.

Sorry, I drive a six year old Ford Focus with standard tranny, and when necessary will replace it with something simple and similar. Don’t need to show off, go 100 MPH or have it park itself.

Now you’re just showing off. Telling these young’uns that you can drive a standard and what-not. I heard that some young fella had to abandon his stolen car the other day after he boosted it because he couldn’t drive a stick!

Another good reason to drive a car with a standard trans.

I like driving a standard shift, but I don’t have one now. Leased one of those fancy new keyless cars with auto. I like it okay.

My sister has a Prius, loves it. I can barely stand to ride with her because it constantly beeps when she drifts out of its preferred lane space, beeps when she is trying to park, beeps, beeps, warning beeps!!!

My car has that feature, but you can turn it off.

I should have said: You can turn them off.

My friend in FL has a new car and she couldn’t figure out why sometimes she couldn’t make it change lanes. It made me very nervous that she had to force it into the next lane and it was dangerous. I finally figured out that she had to put on her blinker to move to the next lane without a problem. I don’t think she would ever have figured it out herself.

I wonder why people don’t use their blinkers to change lanes. I admit that it annoys me. On the other hand, a car that won’t change lanes if the blinker isn’t used could be a road hazard!

It’s my observation that 90% of the autos used on Montana roads don’t have blinkers….these cars don’t even blink when a driver intends to turn right or left…..drives me insane :0)

I’ve had two vehicles with a standard. Drove them a combined 500k miles, and almost all of that in HOU or ATL. If I ever get another, it will only be if I don’t have to drive in town. 😉

Well, it’s like the 4-WD owners in Minnesota often said as they laughed at themselves…..”owning a 4WD just means we get stuck in deeper snow..”
This guy says, “I hit about 2 ½-feet of snow and it just stopped right there,…” Ya think?

Yes, snow falling from the sky is light; but anyone who’s ever used a snow shovel knows how heavy it gets when compacted!

Do ANY of them actually understand that we, the great unwashed, actually know that you can’t reduce any form of deficit unless you stop spending more than you take in……
I really don’t think that they know that we know…………they continue to behave as if ….when drape a handkerchief over their head and chirp, “You can’t see me!”–that we really can’t see them.

The problem is that many of our fellow citizens (and illegal residents) don’t care where the money comes from as long as some of it ends up in their pockets, and they don’t see or understanding what happens as a result.

I think that is the absolute truth.

Afternoon All. 35* and overcast white here. No news from up here. Everything seems quiet. Guess I will load up the car with things I want to get rid of. I finally realized I might be able to move in 4 months so I need to get this done.
Glad to hear you are all right, Czarina. Hope everyone stays safe.

The sad part of this is that She-Jack, or Queen Sheila Jackson-Lee is the best and brightest inside the city limits of HOU representing them in the DC swamp. The Queen just can’t hepp herself from sayin’ somethin’ stoopid every time she opens her pie-hole! This time it’s about the pistol braces. Who know what next week will bring.
