Our old dog, BD died yesterday. She was diagnosed with lymphoma last September, but was really fine until Sunday morning when she started having trouble breathing.
Czar found her by the side of the road, almost dead from starvation, October 2008. He fed her cat food to build her back up, and she took on the job of guarding the edge of the lake from visiting fishermen. And also the left end of the couch. She was not an alpha dog, never bothered the cats, big brown eyes (the song “she’s got Betty Davis eyes” is where her name came from).

How fortunate that Czar found her, for all of you. She found a good home and a purpose. Sorry that you lost her, glad that she was part of your life.

Aw, heart aching for you, Czarina. Fifteen years…what memories you must have! Our hearts get crowded over the years, with all the sweet animal souls we have loved and lost.

Afternoon All. We are up to 6* now, and overcast. That is supposed to be the way it is all day today.
My son came over yesterday with the two older granddaughters and replaced my shower head with a new one my friend sent me for Christmas. The girls were so excited to get to be here and Loki was practically out of her mind. She just wanted to play with them and let them pet her.
The snow has piled up around my car a little bit. I am wondering if it will hurt the tires to put the snow melting stuff around the car? I guess I will call the tire company here and ask. It builds up from them clearing the driveway and I can’t back out. Also, it is hard to get in my car because the doors won’t open.
Hope y9ur weather is better than it has been in so many places and that you all stay warm and dry.

Maybe someone knows if there is a substance you can put on your door handles or edges to keep from freezing shut.

Silicone spray or WD-40 on the rubber weather stripping around the doors, not the windows. If the windows freeze shut just let the radiant heat from the car loosen them or you chance tearing up the weather stripping of worse the guides.
I’m very sorry about your dog, Czar gave her the gift of life and you both gave the gift of love. That’s a win….for every one.

Yes mom, spray it on a rag and wipe the rubber weather stripping around the inside of the door frame. If you try to just spray it you’ll only make a mess…..been there done that.

Received this portion of a subscriber-only blog from a friend today. Sorry I can’t post a link. Much food for thought about the 100% danger of allowing China access to our government (Biden, et al.) and to the American people (+ all peoples around the world that China wants to conquer without firing a shot). Besides using bioweapons such as the manufactured Covid virus and fentanyl, TikTok is a brainwashing tool that needs to be outlawed. Since that is not happening, we should see that our families know the truth and refuse to allow TikTok in their homes.
