Always love to hear Frank Sinatra singing our favorite Christmas songs! Here’s his official YT channel. Looks like they have a whole slew of Frank’s Christmas offerings on their home page…

Nice! I was listening to Christmas music on the TV yesterday. I started getting irritated because a lot of the modern songs sounded like they were almost screaming. It finally changed to some 40’s and 50’s Christmas Music and that was great,

Listening to the songs by the musicians and vocalists who originated them is happy-making at the holidays. Though I do like Sinatra’s version best, here’s the first ever recording of “Let It Snow”….

1st RECORDING OF: Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow – Vaughn Monroe (1945 version)

Video Notes: Not initially relegated to exposure just during the Christmas season, this now-standard wintertime tune by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn reached its peak of popularity during the months of January and February 1946, with the Monroe recording topping the best-sellers charts. Note that there is also a much later Monroe stereo re-make of the tune commonly found, but this ‘40s post is the original hit.

Billboard Chart Peak: #1 for five weeks on the sales, radio, and juke box charts

The original 78rpm single was issued on Victor 20-1759 – Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! (Sammy Cahn-Jule Styne) by Vaughn Monroe & his Orchestra, vocal by Vaughn Monroe and The Norton Sisters, recorded October 31, 1945
