This week is dedicated to Michigan beaches. Here is a favorite video of mine, produced by Pure Michigan. And, yes, Michigan really is this beautiful.

Good morning, everybody! Another beautiful summer day. We could use some rain, though.

Not here! Yesterday it started raining just as I finished mowing the yard, came pouring down hard and rained like that for over 30 minutes. Had to walk from the shed to the house in it! Over 2.2 inches, then stopped, sun came out, thank you very much. Supposed to do that every day for at least the next week.

Friday night at 6 pm it was 98 degrees and I was sitting at my computer when there was a massive clap of thunder, (loudest clap I’ve heard in years)…5 minutes later, the sky opened up and a sheet of rain poured down.

I had to run outside to pick up a project that I had spray painted earlier. I was, maybe, outside for 45 seconds and by the time I got back into the garage, I was soaked to the bone….It poured for about 15 minutes and then stopped. I don’t know how much rain we got in that 15 minutes, but it was a pretty impressive show by mother nature.

We’re supposed to be in the high 90’s this week and no rain in the forecast with no rain, but sending up prayers that you stay dry czarina……

Please share. We could use some of that. It is bone dry and there is a fire going.

When Texas Was at the Bottom of the Sea
A hike to the “top of Texas,” the world’s most famous fossil reef, leads to a new sense of the sublime….

By Olivia Judson – January 2015

The rock beneath me, which looks almost white in the glare of the sun, is full of fossils. Zillions of them. Back when these life-forms were alive—265 million years ago or so—the Guadalupe Mountains were underwater, part of a flourishing reef that once stretched about 400 miles around the edge of a long-vanished sea.

Afternoon everyone. Got up late, took Loki for a walk, had breakfast (all without being soaking wet from sweat. 🙂 ). Then we went to Walmart to pick up some groceries. I cannot tell you how busy Walmart is! Their parking lot is always so full. I sneak in and out in the truck lanes at the back of the store to have them load my order. Now, more unpacking. It is going to be a busy week. I am going to try to find a used washer/dryer, visiting my kids on Wed., the preacher is coming Thurs., and a repairman in coming Fri. to fix the stove. And, as always, still unpacking. Hope your weather is good and you enjoy the day.

I’m of the opinion that God sent this man to this specific property. May God bless him and the precious puppy, too (how on earth did he survive!), plus the shelter personnel and animals….

Florida Tells Schools: Ignore Biden’s Transgender Policies – or Else
    By Ben Johnson – July 29, 2022

The state of Florida has instructed public schools to ignore a Biden administration executive action that would force schools to open girls’ showers, locker rooms, restrooms, and dormitories to members of the opposite sex, and to let males compete in women’s sports.
