Morning all! I just watched the new Downton Abbey Movie (A New Era) on the Peacock network. I couldn’t wait to see it, and didn’t want to go to the theater. If you are interested, the monthly subscription is $4.99, and you can cancel after a month. They have the first movie too.
The movie is excellent! The plot is great, costuming wonderful, locations marvelous. And Maggie Smith gives the best performance of all. The ending is smashing, but heart twisting.

Probably. I won’t stay with them, though.

Morning Lucille! Our family had a 1950 ford 4-door; my little brother and I used to sit in the indentations on either side of the hood and pretend we were driving a stagecoach. Ha…beats computer gaming all to heck!!

Good day, weather! Fun memories.
When I was a child, our family cars were always bought used. This 1947 Lincoln Continental was one of my Daddy’s dreams….
I’d love to have one today.

Great cars and great memories. I especially love the ragtops and the black truck (about 2 minutes in). I want that truck! Thanks Lucille!

You’re welcome, Tundra. I love old cars and trucks.
My paternal grandfather had a 1927 Ford truck (don’t remember if it was an A or a T)–red body with a white canvas top. He drove that truck until he passed in the 1969 (b. 1876).

I am seeing reports that the Social Security increase for 2023 will be almost 11%. Wonder if it is true. Here is one report from CBS News:
Millions of U.S. seniors and others who receive Social Security benefits are on track for a big cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, in early 2023 to catch up to the fiercest inflation in four decades. One group now estimates that the boost could be as high as 10.8%.
By comparison, a Social Security official earlier this month said he expects a COLA bump of about 8%, based on the current inflationary trends.
But if inflation continues at its current pace — the cost of goods and services in May accelerated to 8.6% — seniors could receive a COLA hike of 10.8% in early 2023, according to the new analysis from the non-partisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. If inflation grinds to a halt over the final months of 2022, seniors would receive a COLA increase of 7.3%, the group predicted.

Yep, they gave me a raise of 5%, then promptly raised inflation to 8.6%. My food is either getting slimmer or I gotta pay more! Nice job Democrats, you’re well on your way to destroy America as I knew it! If they can get the POTUS through fraud, why can’t we eliminate these idiots? Democrats DO things, while Republicans TALK things! What a wasted Party!

I think their decisions are more to do with the damage that would be caused by changing the filibuster rule, but it’s good to see that some democrats are still somewhat sane.

I’ve followed this guy for about a year. He shows apartments mainly in New York City and he’s hilarious…plus occasionally says things which give me hope he’s not a NYC Dem.
Warning: the apartment cost may cause dizziness or even a dead-faint-away….
Why is This NYC Apartment INSIDE a Parking-Garage?
