    The following video makes me very happy. Whether you’re an opera fan or not, you’ve likely heard Luciano Pavarotti sing “Nessun dorma” and his has become the definitive version in many eyes. Indeed, his rendition of the aria at the Roman Baths of Caracalla in July 1990 at the first Three Tenors concert is supremely beautiful and remains my favorite.

    This version, however, is sung with such heart by Jonas Kaufmann that for me it runs a close second now to Pavarotti’s…and I love his joy of accomplishment shown at the end plus the audience and orchestra reaction, too….

      Mornin’ Lucille. I knew my father liked music, but I got a big shock when I found out he enjoyed some opera. I got an even bigger shock when I found out he was a big Willie Nelson fan. He didn’t like Willie’s looks anymore, though.

        Good morning, aus. Neither of my parents were opera fans, although both loved to hear excellent singers. I doubt they even knew who Willie Nelson was. Big band and jazz were their interests. They always encouraged and supported the musical aspirations of family members whether vocal or instrumental and attended our performances.

      Beautiful! I know very little about opera, but loved this. What a fine voice.

    Mornin’ All. Well, prayers please, that my son’s planes are not cancelled. I am nowhere near ready for him to load the truck. I think he is going to be appalled at what is left to do. He is used to his wife now and she is a real worker and also 45 years younger. I got a babysitter for Loki for when they are packing the truck. That way she won’t be so traumatized by all the commotion and I won’t have to worry about her getting out the door or under anybody’s feet. She is familiar with this lady and her apartment and the lady is really, really good with dogs. Hers is older and hates Loki, but she will be good in her crate. Well, enjoy your day.

    Stella, what a beautiful sailing ship on today’s banner! Do you know her name? DH sailed a very similar one as a cadet at the US Coast Guard Academy, the USCG Barque Eagle. We have a model of it on our mantle and both enjoy looking at it. Such graceful things, sailing ships. Currently we are re-watching (for the umpteenth time) the Horatio Hornblower series with Ioan Griffudd. Swashbuckling fun! DH practically knows the entire dialogue by heart.

    Here’s hoping all you Stellars have a great week, and special prayers for Mom’s move.

Kilmeade had previously gone on the record against Trump’s claims of any wrongdoing in the 2020 presidential election, but he took that a step further as he suggested the president was flying off the handle without “any evidence” to justify it.
