That kind of fig is called a banyan tree in Miami, and they planted them in every front yard in the 60’s. Grew fast, looked nice, but the roots went into the sewer pipes and made every house have to regularly get plumbing service. Also buckled sidewalks and streets. And you had to trim 5e “air roots” or the trunk became larger and larger. When my family took ours out it was most of the front yard. Side note, as I dragged a big branch away after my brother cut it an iguana grabbed hold of my leg! He was living in the tree and we were tearing his tree down, much to his fright.

He scurried off to another nearby tree. Mornin’ all ya’all! Another gorgeous spring day. Admiral Semmes yellow azaleas are in full bloom down the east to west upper part of my driveway, white and pink ones along the lower part. With a few Tung tree blooms on the middle section.

Beautiful! Our azaleas are pink – I’ve not seen yellow ones before! Carolina jasmine’s in bloom here, too.

Mornin’ all. Our Favorite Sunday Columnist has a take on a recent SCOTUS case and the free speech rights of POTUS 45. Enjoy! Coffee’s on the way. 😉

Here you go. Back at Rancho el Gordito for the week. Watching my humbirds, and saw a bunch of wildflowers on the drive up. All those pictures the last week or so made me homesick, Stella. 😉

Southern MS and LA have purple and white clover blooms densely covering the roadsides of the interstates. Delightful!

While I would not be accused of being a big fan of the LBJ presidency, this is one good thing that came out of it.

I knew about that! Mornin’ Tex.

Howdy, Miss Stella. Most adults are aware of what Lady Bird started, but not many under 50 have a clue why the Interstates look fairly nice this time of year. Not that this sort of thing is on that Top 500 of things to know, but we used to be taught a little bit about how we got here, and why some things are the way they are. Not earth-shattering stuff, but interesting bits of information.

Late mornin’ you all. Cool but the temp is climbing fast here. I am spending a lot of time on the Internet looking for a place to rent in Montana. So far it isn’t producing anything. Every time I get on to check for vacancies, the price of rent has gone up another $100. This is very concerning. There is one place that would be perfect for me, but I can’t get the owner to call me back. My DIL was supposed to go over and check it out but the meeting fell through and the owner has not contacted her either. I am beginning to be afraid that even if I find something, things are going to be so bad politically by the time I can go that I won’t be able to travel. I am trying not to worry, but it is hard.
Well, hope your Sunday is nice and calm.

Thanks. I have become pretty discouraged. It appears they are building all kinds of apt. buildings, but they fill up before they are finished. And, the rent keeps going up.

Mornin Aus….sending prayers and encouragement your way…

Aus,
Sometimes we need a little encouragement along the way. You are attempting to be near those you love.
You believe it’s the right thing to do. Let God work in you, with inspiration both for you and you daughter to find a special place for you!
Psalms 37:4-5
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
KJV
I’ll add my prayers along with Stella’s.

The first time I ever heard the term – Uniparty was from next door. It is now a commonly heard phrase in our circles. This is a good piece about how we’re fed up and keep pushing back against “our” own team. Not sure how long it may take, but people are continuing to wake up and push back.
