Happy turkey day Wee! We failed to follow the advice of the experts, again. My son bought a big fat turkey and we are having all the trimmings. And so are most Americans, I hope. And as we make our pilgrim hat cookies while the last of the dinner preparations are finished today, the grandchildren and I will talk about the Mayflower, the Pilgrims, Squanto and the Indians, and hard work and sacrifice, upon which America was built.

Happy Thanksgiving all ya’all! Pretty day here, 51* rising to 70’s, supposed to rain over night and then get cooler. Just my brother and me, and of course the critters, to give thanks for our blessings. Thinking back, my family was just the 5-6 of us for most of my life, added a boyfriend-later-husband or two, but never those large family gatherings other people have. Czar and I had a few years with gatherings of friends, but mostly it was just the two of us and grandma, with GGS these last 11 years. Lots of leftovers, tho.

I told some of the grandkids that we were probably going to be a little light on the turkey this year, and that it was gonna be $10/head for all of the festivities! My first cup cooled, so I’ll take a little to warm it up… Need to start the apple-cranberry pie and put the pork roast in the slow cooker. Looks like we will be able to come in under $10 per person, with lots of leftovers to spread the cost over several days.

This………is a supply chain real problem. Glass bottles getting harder to come by for wine/liquor makers. This shall not stand! A travesty, that might just evolve into a tragedy!

Happy Thanksgiving all! Out here in rural WA. Cloudy but a beautiful day. Turkey on the smoker, pies ready and not a mask in sight. Family is coming over and I’m as happy as a pig in slop. Praise our Lord for this day! He blesses us all. I hope y’all are having a wonderful day. God bless!

Hi everybody! Hope your Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful – food and company. Mine was good, and it was a group effort, including a lot of help from my two grandsons, now young men. Both know how to cook and are willing veg peelers and potato mashers.

Well, my friend came over for turkey dinner that I had picked up yesterday at Bob Evans. We ate about half the food and so will have enough for another meal. It was turkey and dressing with all the trimmings and green beans and corn. Something I can’t figure out, though, is why she brought a pumpkin pie with her. Now I have more than a third of a pie as well as the big piece of pie that came with the meal. To be honest, one piece of pumpkin pie a year is plenty for me. It isn’t that I don’t like it, it just isn’t my favorite pie. Guess I will have a piece for breakfast and then figure out what to do with the rest.
Oh, we watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation after dinner. We both laughed the whole time. It is such a funny movie. So it was a nice day.
