Butchart Gardens has a wonderful story: it was built by a woman on an area which had been an industrial quarry. She turned an ugly mess into such a beautiful place!

An account by a father of a wounded Marine says Joe Biden tried to visit his son last night but Biden was not welcomed by the family. So far that appears to be the only report on Biden’s visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The White House has been silent on the visit with no photos released, accounts of visits or even reports of Biden awarding Purple Hearts.

Good day to you, WeeWeed! Like California’s disasters, folks aren’t leaving because of natural occurrences but because of the disastrous political climate. I miss the great weather, for sure. And the lakes around northern Idaho are beautiful, but the Pacific Ocean coast holds my heart…such as this scene from Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur….

Mornin’ Lucille, Wee, everybody. The sky is overcast but the clouds are burning off quickly. It is a little cooler than it has been, by a couple of degrees. My DIL brought the granddaughters down from Mass. to see their father in VA. He is back from overseas and has been in quarantine for almost two weeks. I thought she wasn’t coming until next week. I am glad I didn’t know because I would probably have ended up in the hospital or the looney bin worrying about them getting past all that flooding. But……..everything is fine. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Good morning, aus! So glad your son’s wife and his girls were able to visit him. A lovely treat for them all.
We’ve got another beautiful day, with the sun shining but not too hot at 71 degrees right now, heading to 82. Little Gee is laying on his back on the floor beside my desk. I gaze at him and say, “Look at that tummy,” and he actually gives me one of his trembly meows which makes it seem like he’s laughing. What a darling boy!
