Today’s Edith Wilson – or worse?

Edith Wilson took over when President Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke, and the American people had no idea at the time. Is Jill Biden making decisions for her husband in order to create a negative public opinion of Kamala Harris? The desired result may be to keep her husband in the White House as long as possible. Remember this strange tweet?

Some believe that Kamala’s remark – “I haven’t been to Europe either” – may have been a reference to this, and to her losing-proposition appointment as the border czar.

    I sure wondered about that.

Interesting point, especially about Harris’ snarky comeback. But probably many people still believe 44 is running the show (all of his staff are back in place, right?). Joe is the crash test dummy for the donkey party. (And, no, he doesn’t deserve more respect than that ~ the serial predator, child molester, rapist should be in a dark room somewhere).

How is it correct to say that the wife of an elected official is a “United States government official”? Are senators or representatives spouses “governmental officials”? First Ladies have staffs because someone decided we the people should pay expenditures for the projects/causes the wives support. And personally that’s OK by me. But the role is ceremonial and not “governmental.” Did Jill think that up or did Twitter?

I read on Twitter that the FLOTUS account always said “United States government official” (when Melania had the title). I haven’t verified if that is true.

I checked Michelle’s archive. This is the wording prior to the 2016 election:

Pssst! We have big news about the #ItalyState visit. Flag of Italy

And Melania’s after the 2020 election:

As the legacy of #BeBest comes to a close at the @WhiteHouse, we must continue to give a voice to our Nation’s children & the issues that impact their lives. It’s the values & spirit of the American people that inspired Be Best & it’s those values that will carry on its mission.

Whether they cut the line off, I don’t know. That doesn’t seem likely, though, since it would be part of the record.
