Mornin’ everyone. We had a humdinger of a storm come through last night. It woke me up out of a sound sleep, It is still raining this morning, Yea. We have gotten over 2 inches. Loki was okay with going for her walk, because it was only drizzling when we went out, but it started getting harder on our way back, She is ready for her nap now. 🙂

Good day to you, aus! We had a passing-thru storm during the night here in the Idaho Panhandle…thunder and perhaps lightning but I groggily couldn’t tell. All dry now but overcast. We seriously need water from above.

I feel sorry for the darling deer who roam our neighborhood. If they can figure out the path around the fencing, though, they can get a drink from the manmade lake a block over from my place.

Have a nice evening! Kiss Loki for me.

We were supposed to get lots of rain yesterday and today, but they changed their minds Sunday night and it has been totally dry since. I had to water the plants on the porch. Still getting a nice tomato every other day, and my pineapple and single eggplant are looking like they may make it to maturity.

Plan to mow on my riding, zero turn mower in a little while since the lawn and open areas around the house are getting too tall. Probably a 2 hour job. Need to do it before the tropical storm in the Gulf arrives (weather guessers say Fri-Sun).

Here is a story Czar would have passed on to you all. In NewOrleans there is a building called the Municipal Auditorium. It used to be nice, and they held Carnival balls, concerts, etc. there, then it was used a a hockey rink for a New Orleans Hockey team for a while. But it got neglected and was barely used, then was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. FEMA money was used to renovate it, then it was allowed to deteriorate again: currently lots of broken windows and homeless people living there.

So the mayor and some others thought they should use MORE FEMA money to renovate it into a NEW CITY HALL!!! Imagine the changes needed to go fro an auditorium to a warren of government offices. But, the neighbors in the area are up in arms, saying it should be renovated for arts and cultural uses (of course, still using FEMA money). Of course, the neighborhood is rife with crime, so nobody wants to go there anyway…

Will keep you posted on any interesting details in the future.

This is actually a sort of feel-good story. Philanthropic, non-profit organizations are more concerned about being woke and making workers and donors feel good about themselves, they forget they’re supposed to be raising money for the cause. Get woke, go broke. hehehe
