    THOUGHTS ON THE CHAUVIN TRIAL AND VERDICT

    I watched most, not all, of the Derek Chauvin trial and have followed the story closely over the last year. These are some of my thoughts on what has proved to be one of the most consequential criminal prosecutions in American history.

    * This entire case could not have happened just 10 or 15 years ago. The prosecution was driven by the global phenomenon of a bystander video that was posted to social media. In years gone by, there would have been no controversy. George Floyd would have been recorded as the 5,000th or so opioid death in Minnesota.

    Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.
    When they get there, St. Peter says, ‘We only have one rule here in heaven; Don’t step on the ducks!’
    So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.
    Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.
    St. Peter chains them together and says; ‘Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!’
    The next day, the second woman accidentally steps on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn’t miss a thing.
    With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.
    The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps.
    She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St.Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on …. very tall, long eyelashes, muscular.
    St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.
    The happy woman says, ‘I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?’
    The guy says, ‘I don’t know about you, but I stepped on a duck.

    Mornin’ All. Just sunny and beautiful here…….again. Loki seems pretty much back to normal today. Maybe she did just get something bad to eat and it took a while for it to ago away. I had to laugh, though. I had put her favorite toy, and just about the only one she plays with, in the wash and hadn’t given it back to her. Surely that didn’t make her depressed. 😯 Anyway, hope everyone has a nice day.

      Good morning, aus! The behaviors of our house pets can be inexplicable.

      Before my parents moved in with me and when I went on vacation, they would stay at my house to take care of my dog. He loved them and always had a good time with no behavioral problems. One time, though, he seemed to miss me a lot and moped around. But when I came home, he ignored me. Wouldn’t come when I called. Wouldn’t sleep in his bed or on mine, but instead slept in the walk-in closet. He did this for two weeks and then apparently thought I’d been punished enough and went back to his old routine. LOL!???

        LOL One time we went on vacation and let the neighbors take care of my little doggie. She seemed so happy when we came home. Now this little doggie was very small and never got on our bed, I didn’t think she could. But after a little while she disappeared for a few minutes. Later that night I found she had gotten up on the bed and wet between the two pillows. She let us know she was not happy that we had left her.

    Morrow is on Bannon’s show right now.
    Morrow is investing the LEO killing in New Mexico. Murder-execution, really.

    The NM LEO was working with the Feds. Apparently the LEO was not told details, very important details, about the guy the Feds told the LEO to pull over. The killer was a drug runner considered armed and extremely dangerous. Allegedly.

    The feds were approx 1/2 mile behind the LEO. The feds were there at the dead LEO in seconds, recorded by the LEO’s dashcam and cut from the vid released to the public. Morrow got it from the deceased LEO’s family’s attorney.

    I’ve always liked McCarthy as a person even though he certainly could be a bit more forceful and could certainly have done more regarding the 2020 stolen election and in supporting President Trump during the January 6th incident accusations. However, it’s always interesting to see how he conducts himself….

    Well, well, whatever the motivation (there has to be something gained by this move since Dems never let a crisis go to waste), a couple of lefties are actually talking against the horrible treatment the January 6th detainees are receiving….
