Mornin’ All. Sunny and still a little cool here, only 70*. My friend is really upset. She has another friend of about 25 years who has cancer and has been going through chemo for 2 or more years. Her friend’s daughter supports her and is insisting that my friend get the COVID vaccine which she is very afraid to get. I think the daughter would accept a test result showing that my friend has the antibodies, but she can’t find a place to test her. My friend is this woman’s only friend and she will have no one if the daughter gets her way. There is more to the story, and I don’t think much of this daughter or how she treats her mother. But, I need to stay out of it as much as I can.
Hope no one here is in this kind of situation. And, I hope the weather is nice all weekend wherever you are.

Any doc-in-the-box can do the bloodwork to test for the antibodies, Mom – perhaps that would be an answer for her.

We called around yesterday and could not find anyone to do the test unless she has symptoms of COVID. She sees her doctor on Tues, but from what I have heard of this doctor, I doubt she will get any help. Of course, it doesn’t help that no one ever answers their phone anymore. They just tell you to leave a message and they will call you back, maybe, at some future time, possibly.

Ah, you made my brain shift into gear and I did some more checking and found that CVS does the testing and it costs $38. That should take care of it. I also found that Publix might still be doing the antibody testing, but I am not sure about that. Thanks. 🙂

Good day, aus! Stressing out an elder, family or otherwise, is mental abuse. While I certainly understand that taking care of a family member 24/7 isn’t easy, a caregiver has to keep in mind daily that kindness toward an ill person makes everything so very much easier all the way around. I hope the situation works out properly for everyone concerned.

I have a lot of reservations about the whole situation. But, I have to be careful what I say.

I read this morning that she used ration cards to pay for the material. They married in 1947, so the UK was still on rations.

There’s the lovely story of Elizabeth being sent on a tour of several parts of the commonwealth because her parents wanted her to think twice about becoming engaged to Philip. She was gone for some time but when she returned Philip met her at the ship dock. The couple stood holding hands and singing to each other “People Will Say We’re In Love” from OKLAHOMA! which started its run on Broadway in 1943. Her parents obviously relented.

I read that, too! Afternoon JTR!

Good afternoon, WeeWeed! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. We’re at 40 degrees right now and overcast. The wind blew all night and I can still hear things rattling around out there.
This looks like a nice spot to catch a pleasingly mild tropical breeze while sitting on the leeward side…

Morning all! Tucker has been sick to his stomach all day yesterday, but seems a bit better this morning. Weather is beautiful, and everything green is growing like gangbusters.

Morning Stella. Hope Tucker gets better soon. I am in post grandchild recovery today! Sure is quiet here.

Morning, Menage! He hasn’t vomited yet, so there’s that. I gave him some anti-nausea meds that I had for Stella, so maybe that’s helping. He hasn’t eaten much, and that’s fine. Now my living room smells like eau de vomit, so I’ll be getting out the carpet shampooer.
Have a nice rest today! It’s fun to have the kids, but it’s nice when they leave too. The joys of being a grandparent.

Quiet is good. I love quiet, especially after raucous.

Sorry about Tucker’s tummy problems. Maybe he ate some exotic bug or secretly consumed a wad of Kleenex but left no tell-tale signs. Hope he’s better soon and the cause can be discovered.

He just ate chicken and rice for supper. He gobbled it right down and seems much better and more lively this afternoon.

Oh, excellent! Because of stomach problems, my little Shih Tzu’s diet was chicken and rice for the last year of his life (his 13th). He loved it and preferred a good canned variety rather than my fixing fresh meat. Luckily that saved a lot of time and trouble for me.

I did use canned chicken, since I have a supply in my pantry.

I’m sure Viva Frei will be doing a video about this. Basically, the police in Montreal are harassing and arresting Rebel News members because they plan to cover the protest against the lockdown in Quebec. There are several tweets, but here is one:

Frei did put out a vid, one of his great “Viva on the Street” vids. Frei is more upset than he’s ever been, imo, which is saying much about a guy who wouldn’t respond with anger over much of anything. The utter lack of logic, reason, and science is infuriating.

Frei put out a second vid, Stella, of himself down at the Rebel News/Ezra Levant protest.
Certainly out of Frei’s comfort zone. Certainly out-of-character, too. imo
Gosh I’ve been chatty tonight. Time to shut up.

Bad news about Dan Crenshaw. Let’s pray that he recovers with his eyesight (in one eye) intact.

For those who can’t read it, he suffered a detached retina and had to have emergency surgery. He will be face down and blind for the next week or so. He has a gas bubble in his eye holding his retina in place.

Oh, terrible. That is an awful recovery. Imagine not moving a stitch for a week. One of my friends went through that and said it was the worst experience of her life. Besides which, she had no living family and had to hire a nursing service for 24/7 care…about $2,500 out-of-pocket. Such care responsibility is something you don’t want to subject your friends to.

Prayers. But you know, I don’t think anything will stop Dan Crenshaw whether he has a half eye or no eyes at all.

Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger’s Amicus Brief Attempting to Prevent an Independent Audit in the State’s 2020 Election Results Includes At Least Seven False Accusations
By Joe Hoft – Published April 10, 2021 at 2:40pm
What is Raffensperger so scared about that he would intentionally disregard the truth in his letter to the court?

He’s scared of getting caught. Raffensberger broke the law and violated the Constitution. And that’s just for starters.
In-person voters had to show id, vote-by-mail voters did not. That’s unequal treatment.
And that’s just for starters.
Garland Favorito is on the other end of that lawsuit, and Garland’s been at this longer than most. Favorito won’t lose.
