I don’t think that has been proven to be a lie.

Not yet, but they sure seem to be working on it. Lord Willing, it will turn out more true than not.

As you know, I am generally a proponent of vaccinations. I will point out here that every medical procedure, drug or vaccination has a percentage of bad outcomes.

In addition, as pointed out in the article:

“Some of these individuals may ultimately be excluded from this list due to continuing to test positive from a recent infection prior to being fully vaccinated,” Lynn Sutfin, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Health and Human Services, said in an email Monday.

More than 3 million people have been vaccinated thus far in Michigan, a fact that isn’t included in the article. 246 equals .000082 of 3 million.

Oh, I’m right there with ya, Stella re: vaccines. The scare headlines can prove anything true or false, according to the journo’s intentions. Would be nice nice to know which vaccine each of those people took, for instance. Would they have become ill anyway due to health probs? Flu vaccines don’t stop every flu case, nor flu deaths.
Being hermit by choice for most of my life, I would be one of the last people to need or want a vaccination for flu or CCP Virus.

I do think they give kids too many vaccines at the same time too early in life, and should be spaced out more like we had.
And yet, Wicked Son and kids his age had to be re-vaccinated in high school. What does that mean? I dunno.

I’m still going to wait. I get all other vaccines, so I’m not an anti-vax guy, but this happened rather quickly in the whole scheme of life.

Ya know, Stella, been thinkin’, which is always a dangerous endeavor..

The CCP Virus/vaccine rollout is the only thing for which Tuh Selected One has high poll numbers, which bring up his other poll numbers, which are all below 50%.

However – it is in their interests to keep people housebound and isolated due to “covid-fear.”
What better way to control the populace than to increase their hopes over vaccines, followed by vaccine failures which is all Orange Man Bad’s fault, precipitating the need for a new vaccine which will go through the normal Fauci timeline and takes years?

Yup, ima crazy and paranoid. Plain ol’ noid works, too (my first inet association).

I prefer not to think that way. In any case, there isn’t much we can do about it except to shout repeatedly and loudly and keep attention on government intrusion into our lives.

How ’bout it is racist to call this the China Virus (EU, Brazilian, other variants)?

Sadly, vaccine passports are on the horizon! Tell me again why I should inject a poison in my body to fight a cure rate of 99.7%! I.m having a little trouble with that number today! I have already had this China virus.

If you have already had the virus, I would say that you don’t need to be vaccinated. And I wouldn’t call it “poison”.

The cure rate is that high for younger people. Most of the people who have a serious illness or die are over the age of 55.

In summary, I believe in telling the truth – all of the truth that can be determined. In that way, each individual can make up his/her own mind whether or not to be vaccinated.

IFR (Infection Fatality Rate) by age/sex:

There are several observations worth noting. First, as we have long known, people of college age and younger are very unlikely to die. The 5-9 and 10-14 age groups are the least likely to die. (Note that an IFR of 0.001% means that one person in that age group will die for every 100,000 infected.) The 0-4 and 15-19 age groups are three times likelier to die than the 5-9 and 10-14 age groups, but the risk is still exceedingly small at 0.003% (or 3 deaths for every 100,000 infected).

Second, the IFR slowly increases with age through the 60-64 age group. But after that, beginning with the 65-69 age group, the IFR rises sharply. This group has an overall IFR just over 1% (or 1 death for every 100 infected). That’s a fairly major risk of death. (The red line in the chart marks where the “1% threshold” is crossed.) The IFR then grows substantially and becomes quite scary for people in their 70s and older. People in the 75-79 age group have more than a 3% chance of dying if infected with coronavirus, while people aged 80 and over have more than an 8% chance of dying. That’s roughly the same chance as rolling a four with two dice.

Third, the virus discriminates. Beginning with the 20-24 age group, men are about twice as likely to die as women from COVID. This pattern remains in each age group through 80+
