Good day to you, WeeWeed! This cartoon about water got me to thinking about which important world cities were NOT built on a fresh water source. These were what I came up with. There might be more, but my cursory search didn’t find them.

      Atlanta (was a railroad junction)
Timbuktu, Mali (was a trade route town near but not on the Niger River)
Johannesburg (was begun as a gold mining town)
Mexico City (a lake was there under the Aztecs but the Spanish filled it in)
Phoenix (original occupants–Hohokam–were there likely by 500 BC & built canals, some still in use)
Brasilia (founded in 1960 as the new capital city out in the tulies; people hated it at first)
Mecca (supposedly Islam’s god miraculously provided water)

      Not sure about DVDyke…
“Van Dyke is a Democrat and a vocal supporter of gun control. He publicly declares his approval for Bernie Sanders. As he was his choice for the Democratic candidate in the US Presidential Election 2016. Van Dyke who is a New Deal Democrat had not actively campaigned for a candidate since Eugene Mcarthy in 1968. Van Dyke said of Donald Trump in July 2016,

“He has been a magnet to all the racists and xenophobes in the country, I haven’t been this scared since the Cuban Missile Crisis. I think the human race is hanging in a delicate balance right now, and I’m just so afraid he will put us in a war. He scares me a lot.”

A regular soda drinking habit is one thing I never acquired. I actually prefer plain iced tea. Not so other bad habits.

My mother had a very strict rule that we could only have one coke a day. That was a habit I kept until I quit drinking sodas altogether in my 30s. I will admit I have had one here and there as a Rum and Coke on a cruise in the last 10 years.

“Pop” was always a treat in our house – like candy. Mom did give us little bottles of grape juice and, occasionally, Kool-Aid (not good for us either).

Not a surprise. My liberal family members transitioned over to the ‘Spring Fertility Celebration’ from the Christian one decades ago. Same with Christmas…Winter Solstice, don’t you know?

But he’s so Catholic! The only Catholic who counts, according to the media. Oh wait, not mentioning Jesus is the preferred version of Catholicism to the media. I guess I’m wrong to say this, but I’m seriously doubting Biden can speck knowledgeably about Jesus.

A couple of interesting articles on the Wuhan vaccines front….

    From Alex Gimarc – April 5, 2021 – http://interestingitems.org/
“CDC. If the Harris – Xiden administration is going to push for vaccination passports, I propose giving them what they want. Good and hard. The same people who are busily railing against any and all attempts to tie IDs to voting are demanding what is essentially a form of ID based on taking an experimental medical treatment, the COVID vaccines. The CDC fact sheets for the four vaccines demonstrate this nicely. The following language comes from the CDC Pfizer-BioNTech handout:

“The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine that may prevent COVID-19. There is no FDA-approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 16 years of age and older under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

“One of the limitations of an unapproved vaccine is you are unable to sue anyone for bad effects of taking that vaccine. Yet both the CDC and Harris – Xiden are on the precipice of taking your civil liberties away if the full course of vaccines aren’t taken. Solution? Pretty simple actually. I predict (but do not formally call for) a black market in fake CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards. Reproduction is on 3×4” card stock, printed front and back, with a name and birthdate written in ink with date stamps for the vaccinations on the front. That’s all it will take. And should Harris – Xiden insist on papers for travel (just like the good old days in Europe, the USSR and today in China), I will expect an appropriate response from the citizenry. When the inevitable bust of the forgery ring(s) happens and the very public trial takes place, I will never vote to convict the perp. Think of it a bit like Irish democracy, massive, passive resistance to governmental dictates and rules.”

Hopefully the more folks come to that conclusion, the less election fraud we’ll see. Perhaps then 2022 will bring the Senate and House back to the less insane side.
