Somewhere there SHOULD HAVE BEEN a fence…LOL!
“RORY MCILROY lined up to take a putt just YARDS from ‘a sleeping alligator’ on Thursday night at the World Golf Championships in Florida. And the Northern Irish star seemed to be completely unaware there was a reptile loitering close by.”
Luckily Mr. Gator was slumbering in the sun and was not interested in golf or golfers.

I was in Cade’s Cove on Saturday. It’s one of my favorite places.

How fun! I thought you might know the area seeing as you love the Smokies.

Menage, there’s an interesting discussion next door on the Open Thread between two long-haul truckers, rah and Jay1776, and a few others about some of the many challenges truckers face, as well as the rewards of their work. Made me think of you and your son the trucker, and I figured you would enjoy it. A lot of detail I’d never heard of or thought about.

Good morning everyone. Rainy day started here, with at least seven consecutive more to follow, according to the forecast. We had three days of sun, with temps near or above 70, and Tennesseans were outside, active, and loving it.
We live in an area of great natural beauty and all around us there are so many opportunities for fun physical activities. Hiking, biking, walking through the whole city along the riverwalk, rock climbing, kayaking and canoeing, just to name a few. Plus, we are so close to the Ocoee and Hiwassee rivers, where there is whitewater rafting, Olympics held some years ago on the Ocoee. And, as I mentioned earlier, the Great Smoky Mountains, truly one of God’s most awesome creations. It’s become a great draw to the area, all these offerings.
And across the little pond and road, a mountain rises up right before us. There is a big lake, a man made reservoir up there, hiking, biking, picnic areas, views of both the city on one side and the majestic Tennessee River canyon on the other side where you go around the lake. I’m really lucky to live here, right on the edge of the city, where we have a pond, a mountain before us, fields where the deer feed behind us, and woods around as well.
Except for the perpetual problem, with the influx of all these new people, progs have taken over the city. I spent almost twenty years in a little town where educated citizens worked hard and fought hard for liberty. It chafes me now to move back under a regime, and live among fat, contented sheep.

Good morning, Menagerie! I envy you the beauty of your surroundings, since I do not have them. I do have the progs, though. Count your blessings!

Enough progs to go around, huh?

With sadness, we left a paradise like that in California 13 years ago; but – although now in a blue state – we live in a red county the size of Massachusetts in the high desert where temps fall to zero and below in winter. Summer days are longer, winter days shorter and the wind blows a lot here; in short, a place where progs frankly would be hard pressed to survive. But…it has a beauty all its own and abundance of wildlife along with clear and healthy air, and we would be hard pressed to find somewhere we would be as happy (including where we left, interestingly enough).

Mornin’ All. Sunny and slightly cool here. I wanted to see some of the CPAC goings-on, but got distracted and forgot to even look at it. Will try again today. Hope the weather where you are is good. So, have a nice day.

Mornin’ mom! High of 41 today, and rain overnight, so snow should be significantly diminished. Enjoy your day!

My daily prayer now: Dear Lord, let Truth be revealed. Let the American people, and the world, see it and understand it. Let the guilty be punished. Let Justice prevail. According to Your will. And please keep our true President, Donald Trump, safe. Amen.

Here’s Why Trump Drives the Left Absolutely Nuts
Dinesh D’Souza – February 26, 2021
“Trump enrages the Left because he has a more creative, innovative mind than they do. I prove my point by focusing on one of Trump’s earliest business deals.”

Another good column from Kurt Schlichter….
The Important Thing Is No Mean Tweets
February 25, 2021
Americans are a spoiled people who do not understand just how good they have it – sure, the economy is tanking, our kids are locked out of school, and President Badfinger is handing the Chi Coms our country on a platter, but that ignores the big picture.
There are no more mean tweets.

In case any of you were wondering, no…………I did not go see that man while he was in HOU today. I’m pretty sure that Queen Sheila took up whatever air was left in the room, so they probably had him sitting on the sidelines hooked up to O2 and B12 machines. 😉

I have a question that I have not heard anyone ask. Why are the teachers who are refusing to go back to work………being paid???? Other people who have lost their jobs are not being paid unless they are on unemployment.
LikeLiked by 2 people
It’s in their union contracts. For leftie teachers, the students don’t really matter. They are a means to an end. What matters is how much power they acquire. Narcissism on overload.
It’s similar to how it used to be in the auto workers’ contracts. For them no work meant they still got paid, except the auto workers had to go to an office and sit all day in case there was a job that came up, but it seldom did.
Same kind of mindset.

Actually, the auto workers would go to the union hall and kill time playing cards or watching tv. Later on, there were volunteer jobs they could do.

Thanks! I didn’t remember the details of where they went. But actually that’s even worse–not to even be on the premises.
These were contracts that the car manufacturers signed without much protest, likely because they thought their prosperity would never end. They thought paying folks for not working was a small price to keep production on schedule. It’s almost as though they never heard the adage, “Nothing lasts forever.”

The clause at question is that they can decide or the Union can decide if the school is unsafe. I am not sure what qualifies as unsafe. I thought this would disappear when Biden became president. I thought it was because it was an attempt to make things difficult for President Trump.

Been watching Rebekah Rhodes as she approached her due date for her fifth baby. She’s in her early 40’s and this is her last. She has been in labor off and on for several days, and it seems that the baby wasn’t descending, so they were taking her to the hospital instead of going ahead with a home birth. She didn’t make it, and gave birth in the car at a gas station!

I read this earlier this evening, and have been digesting it and trying to formulate my thoughts. Rush was a man of history, and while dedicated to conservatism in practice, I don’t think the author is too far off.
I don’t consider it flipping, or changing his beliefs. I view it as understanding the pulse of the people, and how to we carry on the principles that keep this Country on the right path. Ideology can become a trap. We view those on the other side of the aisle as an ideologue, and that is a pejorative. Not a positive.
FTA -” Limbaugh, the self-proclaimed “mayor of Realville,” was constantly trying to see around corners. What he saw was a political movement that offered more staying power and strength against the left than the ideological one he’d been associated with since 1988. That calculus wasn’t based on election outcomes”

Two articles on the Equality Act which passed the House yesterday…
These Three Republicans Voted for the Pro-Abortion Equality Act, Betraying Pro-Life Values
By LEAH BARKOUKIS February 26, 2021 | 12:13PM WASHINGTON, DC
The Equality Act, which critics argue is the “greatest threat to religious liberty,” passed the House of Representatives Thursday, 224-206. Every Democrat supported the legislation along with three Republicans.
Reps. Tom Reed, R-N.Y., John Katko, R-N.Y., and Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., joined Democrats in passing the bill, which adds sex, gender identity and sexual orientation to the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
