Beautiful. You can just hear the quiet. It’s one of the things I love most about fresh snow. The first photo is stunning. Thanks Lucille.

That first photo truly is beautiful. I tried to find the name of the photographer, but it was found at one of those wallpaper sites which does not list such info.
Seems to me that Stella might have used it as photo-of-the-day some time back. But I thought it deserved another go-around because it is so…well, heavenly. God’s lovely world.

Foxes use the Earth’s magnetic field as a targeting system
By ED YONG – January 11, 2011
It’s winter on a British meadow, and a red fox is on the prowl. The snow-covered ground masks the sight of its prey but the fox can still hear the telltale rustle of a mouse. It creeps forward slowly, listening intently with erect ears. Once it pinpoints the mouse’s location, it leaps into the air to surprise its prey with a strike from above. This pounce, known as ‘mousing’, is a common sight but there’s more to it than meets the eye. Jaroslav Červený has found that when red foxes pounce, they mostly jump in a north-easterly direction. He thinks that they’re using the Earth’s magnetic field to hunt.

We had a Rottweiler who trenched after salamanders (I call them gophers) and he had trenches all over the yard. It was dangerous to walk back there. The trenches were about 4 to 6 inches deep and the same wide.

Cher Chez and LuckyDog used to dig up the yard like that. The Ag agent said it was voles they were after.

Maybe it was voles. They called them salamanders, though.

This morning I was remembering a joke my mother told when I was young about the little boy whose parents were hosting an adult formal dinner. He smeared his mom’s ‘vanishing cream’ all over his body and paraded naked around the dinner table. The guests politely pretended not to notice him. He thought he was invisible until his parents scolded him afterward. Reminds me of our fake Congress, thinking they’re pulling off their caper and no one noticing. Those leftists live in a dream world…this includes all communists. They’re children.

Yes, children who hate guns except the ones they use on the people. Bide-Harr is hard at work figuring out how they can by-pass the 2nd Amendment. Apparently they want every commie dream for America in place during the first 100 days.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Police say five people were killed Thursday in a massive crash involving 75 to 100 vehicles on an icy Texas interstate.
Fort Worth police say the number of injured is still unknown as they are still at working the accident.
A winter storm is dropping freezing rain, sleet and snow on parts of the U.S
First responders took about 30 people to hospitals after the crash near downtown Fort Worth, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky told the Star-Telegram newspaper. He said some of those people were critically injured.

What we do and don’t know about deaths connected to the Capitol Hill Riot
https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/02/what-we-do-and-dont-know-about-deaths-connected-to-the-capitol-hill-riot/
By saying that the riots were deadly – and often adding that five people were killed – the articles may encourage readers to forget the nature of those deaths and even to fill in the blanks with the thought that the rioters killed five people and killed them purposely. But three of those deaths were described this way in a January 7 article:
Those people were Rosanne Boyland, 34, of Kennesaw, Georgia; Kevin Greeson, 55, of Athens, Alabama; and Benjamin Phillips, 50, of Ringtown, Pennsylvania, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
Boyland collapsed at the Capitol, where police performed CPR, 11Alive.com reported. She was taken to a hospital, but did not survive.
Greeson’s family said in a statement that the Trump supporter suffered a heart attack during the chaos, The News Courier reported.
Phillips, who had organized a group to drive to Washington, D.C., from his home state, died of an apparent stroke after being taken to George Washington University Hospital, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. . . .
Then we have demonstrator Ashli Babbit, who died from being shot by a person who is reportedly a member of the Capitol Police. The rioters certainly didn’t kill her, and we’ve had very little official word on her death except for the existence of an investigation. We don’t know the identity of the person who shot her, either.
Which leaves the fifth person who died, Capitol Police Officer Sicknick. Again, so far we know very little in terms of statements from officials, although there are certainly many rumors. . . .
Sicknick’s death is being investigated, but it’s been four weeks and I’ve not seen any recent updates. And yet if a poll was taken right now, I would guess that for most people who know about Sicknick’s death, the majority of them may think that it is a known and proven fact that right-wing Capitol “insurrectionists” killed Sicknick by beating him with a fire extinguisher. . . .
Moreover, the website ProPublica offered a different explanation.
It quoted Ken Sicknick, whom the site identified as the late officer’s brother, as saying that Brian Sicknick had communicated with his family and never mentioned a fire extinguisher attack.
“He texted me last night and said, ‘I got pepper-sprayed twice,’ and he was in good shape,” said Ken Sicknick. “Apparently he collapsed in the Capitol and they resuscitated him using CPR.”
The site said that on Thursday, family members were told that the officer had a blood clot and suffered a stroke and was on a ventilator…
According to what ABC called “sources familiar with the matter,” authorities believe Brian Sicknick’s death was driven by a medical condition. . . .
CNN goes on to add some surprising admissions [emphasis mine]:
In Sicknick’s case, it’s still not known publicly what caused him to collapse the night of the insurrection. Findings from a medical examiner’s review have not yet been released and authorities have not made any announcements about that ongoing process.
According to one law enforcement official, medical examiners did not find signs that the officer sustained any blunt force trauma, so investigators believe that early reports that he was fatally struck by a fire extinguisher are not true.
One possibility being considered by investigators is that Sicknick became ill after interacting with a chemical irritant like pepper spray or bear spray that was deployed in the crowd. But investigators reviewing video of the officer’s time around the Capitol haven’t been able to confirm that in tape that has been recovered so far, the official said.
The case could also be complicated if Sicknick had a preexisting medical condition. It could not be learned if he did. . . .
Those are not the only facts about which authorities have been silent. Byron York has touched on some of the other dogs that haven’t barked concerning January 6 in his Washington Examiner piece from February 4 in which he lists nine questions he has submitted to Capitol Police (complete with follow up calls) that he claims have gone completely unanswered. He points out that these are standard questions with answers that are usually released even at the start of investigations, and so the failure to answer is unusual. Here are York’s unanswered questions:
How many Capitol Police officers were injured in the riot?
What were their injuries? What is their condition now?
Did Capitol Police confiscate any firearms from rioters? If so, how many and what types?
What is the status of the investigation into the killing of Officer Sicknick?
Is there an autopsy report for Officer Sicknick? If so, will it be released to the public, or will its key findings be released to the public?
What is the status of the investigation into the shooting of Ashli Babbitt? Has it been ruled a justifiable shooting?
Who was the officer who shot Ms. Babbitt?
Did any other officers discharge firearms during the rioting? If so, under what circumstances?
Did any rioters discharge any firearms during the rioting? If so, under what circumstances?
I think it’s likely that the present administration, the Democrats, and the press are hoping that the narrative around Officer Sicknick’s death that has already been established in the minds of the vast majority of Americans – that right-wing Trump-supporting rioters killed him by bashing him in the head with a fire extinguisher – will continue to serve its purpose. In order to do this, it would be important to keep any information that might tend to undercut that narrative away from the public.

I remember reading at GP that the death of officer Sicknick may not have been caused by the fire extinguisher as was originally reported.

Well, if she “openly cheated” I guess it isn’t a revelation. No, I don’t support that behavior and I think it demonstrates questionable character, morals, and judgement. But why doesn’t that matter when the sex life being discussed is a Democrat?

Like Eric Swalwell, who cheated on his wife with a Chinese Communist spy, but who is still on the House Intelligence committee?

Pretty sure I read that Swallwell was no longer in a relationship, either personal or professional, by the time he married. So I hit the search engine and found he married on October 13, 2016.
Also, according to FORBES: “Fang reportedly continued work as a ‘bundler’ for Swalwell, convincing high-money donors to write big checks for the campaign, before unexpectedly leaving the U.S. in mid-2015 after living in the country for four years, amid an ongoing U.S. intelligence investigation into her activities.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/12/19/heres-what-we-know-about-rep-swalwells-connection-to-a-suspected-chinese-spy/?sh=5c76076f2050

While interesting, my objection to him being on the Intelligence Committee isn’t influenced by whether he was committing adultery or engaging in fornication. It was his choice of partner and his judgment.

Well, gee. I wonder how they figure out that matches up with the Dem. Swalwell, who cheated on his wife with a Chinese spy and lied over and over about Pres. Trump? Oh, and is still lying about Trump.

I’ve spent almost the whole day doing a deep dive into the 15 candidates for mayor I had to choose from. A few were agitators and activists, easily ruled out. One had workers who got my cell number and decided to duel with me a little, also easily ruled out. Not one, a single one, says whether they are Republican or Democrat.
So, the guy who gets my vote is the only one to mention the Constitution. He was appalled that his fifth grade granddaughter not only can’t recite the Preamble, she’s never heard of it. He’s also the only one to mention wasteful spending and cutting the budget.
I’m sure you’ll be shocked to know he isn’t one of the three leading contenders.

Rittenhouse’s attorneys argued that threats have forced their client into hiding. He moved into an undisclosed “safe house” after conservative groups posted his initial $2 million bail in November. His attorneys say they have offered to reveal his new address to prosecutors but only if they would agree to keep it sealed, the Associated Press also reports.

Anyone up for a laugh?
Listening to John Solomon right now, on Bannon’s show.
Swallwell, aka FartnBoy, put up two tweets today from two women saying they were coming in on the 5th of Jan, and they were bringing the Calvary.
Read that closely. Calvary. Not cavalry.
Solomon called the two women to verify, who with their pastor confirmed their church group met on the 5th and prayed.
They have now been doxxed and threatened, of course.
smh We pay these people way too much.
