The entire “fetal cell” argument has never been about anything more than money. They have yet to produced a gene therapy using them (72 using adult cells) and Brown University demonstrated that an adult cell can be stimulated in any fashion rendering the “embyronic” argument moot years ago. It is all about the money.
They can harvest those cells easier from murdered. A it’s than having to deal with actual live people to get them. The umbilical cord blood has the cells needed for scientists to research but they prefer aborted babies as it doesn’t involve any others to obtain. Just knock on pp doors and they’ll sell whatever parts you want. My heart and head hurt! 😢

Thank you. I really have to get back to reading the NCR. I was so upset a week or so ago at EWTN pro-life news show spokeswoman almost up out of her chair emphatically, almost hysterically, trying to get the Catholics to sign something about they will get the aborted cell shots because the bishop said it was OK. (EWTN owns NCR for those who don’t know.)
I have to go back and find the article at GraniteGrok, but IIRC basically it said the abortion laws in NH are so liberal that one of the companies that buy aborted babies and their human remains for commercial/scientific/medical so called uses may be coming to NH because we don’t even keep track of how many abortions are done here.
THIS is why I started looking at voting here a few years ago. There is no way an informed normal person would allow this. We elected all republicans at the state level, but somehow Dems won national offices. I think just maybe it had something to do with the unConstitutional ruling by a “judge” right before the election that out of state college students, living out of state could vote in the election. Sigh – can we give give Dartmouth College to Vermont? The students there are the ones that almost annually file some ridiculous lawsuit right before an election.

Sorry. Sometimes I get silly. Truth is, I know of some places in Florida that are more humid than others, but none that are not humid. Except for sometimes in the winter the weather is very nice because the humidity is low. Not today. It is very humid and even though it is 81* here it is not so comfortable.

So in the winter it is drier, but not always, and it’s always humid everywhere in the summer?
What months is considered winter down there? I lived in places where winter is 8 months out of the year.

Winter in FL is usually Dec, Jan, and part of Feb. Then there is a mysterious cold (FL style) in Mar, I believe, near St. Patrick’s Day. I remember that because that is my friend’s week at her time-share at the beach and it is very windy and somewhat cool. But, winter here and up north is very different. If you see that it is 32* here, that means it dropped, usually at some time in the very early morning hours. As soon as the sun come out, the temp climbs fast. When I lived in Upstate NY, I was shocked that the temp often dropped during the day. Not something I was used to.
Right now I am sitting in my LR in a sleeveless shirt and pants that end at my knees, and barefoot. And, I have been complaining about the heat all day. The air conditioner finally came on.

Thanks. If it’s only dry 3 months out of the year, I don’t think I could even be a snowbird. I really have difficulty breathing in humidity. Sadly i think that leaves out most of the southeast as well.
My friend loves the Rockies, and I probably would too, but I don’t know how the high altitude would affect my breathing.

Sometimes in the summer the humidity is so thick, it feels like trying to breath under water. But it isn’t that bad in the winter.

I love the Rockies, but the altitude would definitely affect your breathing. The first two times I visited Colorado I suffered from altitude sickness on the second day. I was young, but still a smoker. After I quit smoking, I no longer had the problem.
Anyone with any problem with lungs or heart can be affected.
I hear that after you live at altitude for a while, your body adjusts by increasing your blood volume.

Back when I was in my early twenties, we were in Hawaii and we drove up to the volcano. I kept falling asleep, even in the middle of saying something. We finally decided I was passing out. When we got to the top, I had trouble standing up. I had never been at that altitude before.

The highest altitude I’ve ever been at has been skiing here in the white mountains – probably 2500-3000 feet at most, and that was almost 35-40 years ago. I might be able to go some places out near the Rockies, but not above 2500 feet probably at 1st. It’s easy to get some acclimation to that height by some weekend drives with the mountains right here.

Denver is at more than 5,000 ft, and it’s flat there. I quit smoking 32 years ago, and I don’t regret it a bit.

The mountain here where I used to ski peaks at about 4000 feet. You can drive up the mountains in the summer, but I’m not sure about the winter for public driving.

I’m not having a problem. Could it be your browser? I have noticed that it makes a difference. I’m using FireFox and it works. I tried to get away and tried Brave, but had problems with it.

I don’t have a WP account that’s why I can’t “like”. I never knew there was a bar with a notification bell so I’m guessing it would not make much of a difference to me. I have to sign in the 1st time, then as long as I don’t clear cookies etc., my email and screen name pop in the blanks, but I have to always copy the url in on every comment. I constantly am clearing cookies and cache etc. when hopping between sites and whenever I’m not on the computer. It makes it more time consuming to comment, but as long as I’m not too tired, you guys are worth it! 😉
I have to try a test comment next door. Have not done that in probably a month or more.

I was awake all last night watching videos of planes (and old dance/musicals). I love flight, and am always amazed at the size of planes lifting into the air with just a few engines. Sometimes I watch the take-offs of the big military transport planes – it’s amazing! When I worked at an Air Force base we were allowed to go up near the Blue Angels flight demonstration planes that were there for the annual air show. I was amazed at how thin the wings were for the amount of force exerted on them!

We’ve had some sun up here lately, but still I’ve been thinking about a nice, warm, sunny beach 😉
I was going to do travel poster art for a while in case anyone else has a case of wanderlust.
I like all the marine mammals in the second poster, especially manatees. I feel a special kinship with them for some strange reason – hahaha! 🙂
and since I missed Caturday, here’s the pic I had picked out:
So here is a little warning: I had a minor surgery last week which went well. When it was time to replace the doctor’s dressing I replaced it with a CVS brand bandage rather than the Band-aid brand I usually use because the CVS brand was larger to give me more of a space around the stitches. Both bandages were supposed to be the SAME THING. The CVS brand is made in China, and the Band-aid brand is made in Hungary. Well, i had an allergic reaction to the CVS bandage that has left me with what looks like a bad sunburn in the exact shape of the larger CVS bandage as well as splotches of red/pink for about 6 inches all around it!
The moral of the story – even if the item is SUPPOSED to be the same thing, check where it’s made. (usually in 2 font tiny print). I have been exhausted from lack of sleep due to this and last month’s surgery, so did not even think of checking where made as I usually would if not so tired. It is important to have someone else do this if you have help. Otherwise from now on I’m making a list of things like this to put out even if it’s a small surgery.
BTW has anyone else notice the cheap, ill-fitting “surgical” masks they now make you wear when going into a medical facility smells like car exhaust & chemicals? I saw people taking them off their car rear view mirrors and being let in, but my freshly washed, properly fitted silk mask was not allowed because it is reusable! Oh well, Trump is out of Washington, so as we can all see the “pandemic” is over and states are re-opening.
remember – Test your bandages b4 a surgery!

I try not to put too much detail in personal comments of this nature, but hopefully this story will keep someone else from being hurt by Chinese junk. This must be why the ‘made in’ font is so small I had to use a magnifying glass to read it!
btw – how did you get that little clapping emoji? It’s cute. I only remember smile, frown and wink, but I’d like to know more. I can not “like” comments, and they would be a nice thing to use as a reply. I used to have a list on my other computer b4 it died, and I’m wary of downloading from some unknown site. I also had how to do italics and bold, but that was also lost in the tragic computer accident. :-O

When DH had his hips replaced whatever tape they used actually ate away his skin. He can only use the Nexcare Gentle Paper Tape. Just checked NGPT it says “made in USA with globally sourced materials” which means they can change the formula and where they get the materials anytime without you knowing. Hmmmm. The physical therapist is using a type of tape to tape my arm in an effort to reduce swelling. It’s amazing tape that does not bother me at all. As long as you fold it all the way back, not at a 90 degree angle to your skin, it comes off easily, but it is made to stay on for at least 2 days. I want to get the name of it to buy it myself and have DH give it a try.
You may want to give anything new a try on your arm – 1st for a half hour, then a few hours, then a full day and night.
The other thing the docs & physical therapist said is take off bandages after getting them soaked in the shower or putting a warm, damp cloth over them to dissolve/soften the glue. Soaking won’t help with a true allergy, but it will probably reduce irritation. My allergic reaction was not to the tape part of the bandage, but the colloidal middle part that covered the stitches.
I think where it comes from, and perhaps the brand name does make a difference.

The doctor that looked at mine said it was an allergy to the glue. I have had trouble when I give blood because whatever they use makes my skin turn bright pink and swell within minutes. So, I just pull it off as soon as I can.

Getting it off quickly is a good idea. Maybe try the wet cloth to soften the glue, but not warm as the heat may increase the reaction. I know heat makes my allergies worse.

I use the Brave browser. I right click on the discussion box and select “Emoji” and it opens up with lots of emoji’s to choose from…👍😁😍 Firefox does not have emoji’s but you can download an app for that…😉

Brave doesn’t do the trick here for me. I can’t even access my WordPress admin functions. I tried it out for a week or so, and finally gave up because it was so annoying.

It really struck me because I was saying to my friend yesterday that she needed to let go and give the problems to God. She said she did, but I could tell she held on to them. If they are keeping you awake at night, you haven’t let go.

And it was actually a sacrifice for them. It was not easy to travel, they were entrusting their homes, families, and business interests, often even the running of plantations, to others while they served their country.

I would also like them to not be able to pass laws just for themselves (sex pervert slush fund) but have to follow the laws they pass for us (obamacare vs their platinum policies), only be paid the same wage as the mode or majority of citizens of their state EARNS (no counting gov’t benefits), and because that may be a hardship for those living in let’s say Calif, they get free military barracks and food. Then Nancy can spend her own millions going back and forth to Calif.
Sigh… I can dream can’t I? I think if someone is a PUBLIC SERVANT concerned with the welfare of their constituents versus wanting to be at the top of a feudal system, they would be all for these proposals.
