You say the times are troublesome, the times are burdensome, the times are miserable. Live rightly and you will change the times.

The times have never hurt anyone. Those who are hurt are human beings; those by whom they are hurt are also human beings. So change human beings and the times will be changed. St. Augustine, City of God 14,7.

    Morning everyone. Still cold.

      G’mornin’ Menagerie, Stella, All.
Happy belated birthday, Menagerie. Hope you are still celebrating – you’re worth it.

Thank you for St Augustine’s words. We all need these, from time to time.
After all, “this has not come to stay, it has come to pass…” (some dummy in a motivational vid)

Remember back in the day when every Friday at 5:00 p.m. you all always had a bar pic with “Beer, bar…” and the weekend was started? Always waited for those every Friday. Great pick-me-up.

      Have a Great Day.

Both people and actions can be wicked, and the wicked justify their actions. Terrorizing the populace by threatening livelihoods, stealing the minds of their children, eliminating their abilities to speak in defense of themselves or merely express their thoughts, these are all necessary actions to the wicked who wish to rule over us. To them, only their lives and way of life and thinking matter. It is a mindset straight from hell.

If that mindset can be broken through (and only God can set up the scenario through which listening is enabled), and wicked men or women see their error, repent, turn away from wickedness, and believe in the One Who paid the price of sin for us, then they will become our brothers and sisters no longer desirous of persecuting others. Change the heart, change the mind.

Our spiritual task is to pray God will open the eyes of the wicked and they will choose the path of righteousness. Whether they do or don’t is up to them.

These past few days have been interesting for me, in a personal way. I left FB and Twit. Cancelled Amazon Prime. I have been connecting with friends and family the “old fashioned” way: phone.

Just yesterday I had a long, wonderful phone conversation with a dear cousin. We have kept in touch with each other for years via FB. He was surprised to get a phone call. It was so wonderful to hear each other’s voices instead of reading what each other posted online.

The censorship going on is appalling and scary. People in my circle who love and miss each other are having a great time actually hearing each others’ voices! We are making lemonade out of lemons.

I have never replied to myself before. First time for everything!

Next on my list is having my prescriptions moved from Walmart to a small, locally owned pharmacy.

I have been a Whole Foods customer only because my son works for them. I will not spend another penny there. The only thing WF makes that I’ve become addicted to is Rosemary Sourdough bread. Thankfully, I have a nephew who is a baker. He will teach me how to make my own.

It is back up into the 60’s this morning, along with overcast and rainy looking. I don’t know if it will rain or not. Mornin’ all. Lunch with my friend again. We are going to a tea room. I always love to do that. I keep hoping things will get better, but it doesn’t look like they will.

Hi auscitiizenmom! I love reading your posts. Hope you have a lovely lunch with your friend. It is so cold here in Oklahoma that I had to put on my big coat to just take out the trash. Looking forward to spring. Only bad thing about spring here is the tornados.

I am loving the weather here now. The problem with Spring here is it usually lasts a day or two and jumps into Summer with both feet. LOL.

We went to a really nice little tea room. The food was very good. They served scones and I had a salmon salad. It was very good. It was a little pricy, but, hey, it’s not McDonalds.

One of my relatives sent me this note yesterday when I emailed him an article about the timeline of the Capitol incident…

“My cousins were there. They said that they were singing the national anthem and police fired tear gas into the crowd. They also said there were hoards of people there and only a few went beyond barricades.”

Accosted by a Karen at Costco yesterday.

I had gathered what I went there for. Had disposed of the basket “to the right” of the cash register area, and was standing near the end of the conveyor belt thingy.

Karen, Her Royal Superiorness, was standing way up there at the pay position, finishing paying for her purchases.

The first awareness I had of her presence as I stood in public isolation, waiting as I was told to (on the marks on the floor) was her hissing as she pointed dramatically at the floor near my feet and snarled, “Six FEET!”

How I wish I had said – “Oh. So you don’t trust the masks either!” or perhaps (thinking it’s a word game) “Ten feet minus four feet!” or looking down at my feet in confusion and then saying, “Nope. Just two.”

I was so stunned at her rudeness and palpable fear. I stared at her for about ten seconds and blurted out, “I’m perfectly healthy. Are you?”

She stared at me with hostility, then whirled and left. She was already completely done with what she had to do there.

    So……..

I left the store, talking myself down from the adrenaline. Got my few purchases in the back of my car and then – wonderful provision!

Exactly as I started my car and began to back out of the space, it was 3:00 pm, straight up. Mark Levin was starting his program. Now, he always ends his Friday program by playing wonderful instrumental presentations of the service hymns of each of the armed forces (including the Coast Guard, by the way). Yesterday was special!

He BEGAN his Monday program playing a grand presentation of the Star-Spangled Banner.

I immediately rolled down all my windows. Turned the volume up to MAX. And drove slowly up and down the coast parkling lot aisles until it was finished, before I then sought out the exit.

    Felt good to do that..

Spitting in your general direction, Karen.

HUGE! Analysis of Video of Trump Supporter Ashli Babbitt Death in the Capitol Shows Antifa’s Actions Led to Shots Being Fired (2 VIDEOS)
By Joe Hoft – Published January 12, 2021 at 11:07am

The actions of Antifa agitators in the Capital last week, dressed like Trump supporters, led to the death of Trump Supporter Ashli Babbitt.

An analysis of events that occurred in the Capital shows that Antifa was involved in numerous activities that led to Ashli Babbitt’s death and violent exchanges in the US Capitol. They then hid and even changed their clothes after she was shot.

I think this is true, but I also think that she may have fallen victim to a Q narrative. It is true that there were self-identified QAnon followers in that group (like that freak who was sitting in the Speaker’s chair in the House). Ask yourself why she was there in the first place. She was no Antifa follower. It is possible that she believed that it was her duty as a patriot and military member to join the assault on the Capitol. It is also possible that most of the followers like her had no intention of committing violent or destructive acts.

That she was murdered is not in doubt, in my opinion.

“If we had a fair press and a justice system that was just, these guys would all be in jail”.

The above comes from the narrative and I disagree. I say some would have been arrested if the police had did their jobs and arrest the perps rather than follow orders that directed them not to arrest Antifa.
The Democrat leadership needed a Reichstag moment to delay the Certification, something that would cause most of the Republicans to forget the Constitution.

    It’s the little things….

The small local community church here has struggled to stay alive and have reached the point where a full time pastors wage can’t be met, so we ‘share’ clergy with several other little Christian groups in the area, but the doors to our church are still open.

About 50 years ago, the large cross on the side of the church went dark. The wiring became outdated and dangerous and the lower costs of the monthly power bill gave the church a little bit of breathing room.

However, two months ago, an elderly woman in the community died and in her will she left money to repair the electrical outfitting of the cross and to pay for several years worth of increased power bills. An electrical contractor was brought in and last week for the first time in over a half a century the cross was lit up.

Now those travelling across the northern part of the state in the wee hours of darkness are met with a cross, shining brilliantly and quietly delivering a message of hope.

It’s the little things that speak the loudest..

Well, this is interesting. I don’t know how many of you have heard this, but Parler was shut down because of the violence and was accused of being used to cause it. So far, the ones they have in custody say they used Facebook to arrange the violence at the Capital. Just more lying and misrepresentation.

From what I understand, the examples that Amazon used to claim that Parler was used to organize contained info that was copied from Twitter. In other words, the organization was from Twitter, not Parler.

Now they are saying that protestors are planning all sorts of crazy things to attack every one in the government. They are saying these are Trump supporters. I find it totally strange that if that is true, we are hearing nothing about it except from the FBI which I don’t trust at all. I mean, when things like that have happened, we hear some chatter here or next door and I haven’t noticed a thing.
