    Mornin’ all. Not very Christmassy here today. The sun is out and bright and it is warm. No snow. Anyway………Merry Christmas everyone. 🙂

      Good afternoon, aus! The sun is out and we’re at 34 degrees with no breeze. I’m behind on getting things done today, but since it’s not 2:00 yet PDT, there’s plenty of time to get to them.

      God bless us, every one!

        That’s a pretty card! I have a collection of Victorian greeting cards and advertising cards. So pretty! Some food-related cards are framed and hanging in my kitchen. I usually make a framed display of the Christmas greeting cards, but didn’t this year.

        My dad found them in an old album, thrown in the trash, back in the 1940’s.

          Your kitchen walls with the vintage and antique cards of all types framed and hung must be enjoyable for family and friends to look over. If you do it seasonally, all the better. Such framed cards are also great to give to those who appreciate the artistry.

          It’s amazing what can be found in the trash. A friend of mine dumpster dives to find things she can sell at her Cancer Society yard sale several times a year. She’s found artworks in excellent condition, old military uniforms, costume jewelry. The end of the month is her best time to collect from apartment complexes because that’s when most people move and throw out all kinds of usable items.

          I took an art appreciation class in college. Had to buy a packet of 5×7 copies of famous pictures. I matted and framed the ones I liked and put them in cheap but pretty frames. They were on our walls for a number of years in two homes and I thought it was a great way to get to enjoy works I could never have even afforded a print of.

          I also framed favorite greeting cards. Once I started the painting business I learned to look for good frames that might have ugly pictures in second hand stores and I painted them or aged them.

          Today my son showed me a huge flag they made with his kids hand prints for stars. They are going to hang it in the big sun room. I like made art.

  5. Morning All! 🙂

    Here is a lovely painting, or illustration as some may call it, of the Angel of the Lord appearing to the shepherds. I just read the story of Joseph getting fire from the shepherd, so I guess we’re all thinking a bit alike here today! 😉

    I do not know who painted this, but I love these images. These are the wonderful kind of images I grew up seeing all around back then.
    Have a wonderful and Blessed day! 🙂

    I have to find my Christmas music CD’s, and put them on as I cook today. We’re having a bacon brown sugar pork roast with roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, with raspberry turnovers and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I’m going to cook the potatoes and asparagus today, and hopefully there will be some left by tomorrow! hahaha! I know there would be no bacon or turnovers left if I made them now. I already ate a pint of ice cream!!!

    Thank you all for all of your lovely, thoughtful, funny, and heartfelt contributions to this wonderful site hosted by Stella! I pray all of my Stellar friends here have a wonderful day today filled with love! 😉

    I’m had to stop by and see your pictures and hear the music of your site all decked out for the season. Thank you again for welcoming a deplorable while Sundance and crew were struggling mightily to move us to CTH2.
    God bless you and yours. Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas Eve to Stella, WeeWeed, Menagerie and all! Today, I have been thinking about Mary. I’ve been 9 months pregnant, but didn’t have to ride on a donkey and give birth in a barn with no medical professionals surrounding me. The lockdown has forced me to be alone with Jesus Christ, pray a lot, listen to Him a lot. For this, I am grateful. Merry Christmas!

      Surfhut, MERRY CHRISTMAS! This life is full of lessons and callings. The Wuhan has brought us lots of extra time to think about our lives. I’ve certainly not used time as productively as I could have. One consolation…there’s always today and tomorrow to start. And what better way to use hours and days than concentrating on things which are eternal.

      Love Came Down at Christmas
      By Christina G. Rossetti (1830-1894)

      Love came down at Christmas,
      Love all lovely, Love Divine;
      Love was born at Christmas,
      Star and angels gave the sign.

      Worship we the Godhead,
      Love Incarnate, Love Divine;
      Worship we our Jesus:
      But wherewith for sacred sign?

      Love shall be our token,
      Love be yours and love be mine,
      Love to God and all men,
      Love for plea and gift and sign.

  9. Here are some fun wrapping ideas for those who, like I used to be, up at 2am wrapping gifts 😉

    https://twitter.com/buitengebieden_/status/1335153578684583936

    There was also one that showed if your wrapping paper is an inch or so too small, wrap the gift on the diagonal, and it fits!
