We got a big chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for FREE! Our local grocery store, Ingles, sent us a coupon, and when DH brought it home, it is beautiful! They have a nice bakery with talented ladies that do such a good job.

Good afternoon, aus! The other day I ordered from Walmart some Green Giant Veggie Tots made from cauliflower. Now I’m addicted. So delicious and will have those as a side dish for Christmas along with turkey, string beans and potatoes (which I’m not supposed to eat and can’t remember why or which ailment they are forbidden for…LOL!).
It’s sunny today but the temperature is 34 degrees. It was 20 last night and frost was thick everywhere this morning. The frost made the fences glisten. So pretty when I went out for my walk.

With this new diet I’m on and having to cut out beef plus so many of the things I love, veggies done enticingly are called for. I eat an apple each day plus raw/undressed cole slaw with California Ranch olive oil along with tuna. And I get to eat a butter lettuce salad with unfatty chicken. I long for something with eggs, but they are forbidden except for the whites. I think I’ll buy some dried egg whites and see what I can do with them, but it’s just not the same as a quiche or omelette using the full egg with bacon which is also forbidden. My kingdom for a slice of bacon!
Honestly though, I WAS a very bad girl when my neighbor brought over some fresh baked cookies…ate them all over a three-day period. So the diet just may continue AFTER Christmas.

One of the things to keep in your freezer is a bag of frozen peas. So easy to prepare out of the freezer (just pop in the microwave). I eat a lot of broccoli, brussels sprouts and asparagus too. Also squash and roast beets, parsnips and other vegs.

I can eat canned baby peas, but not frozen. I tried the cauliflower patties that look like potato cakes, but must have expected them to taste like potatoes because they were very disappointing. I used to eat salads 4 or 5 times a week but can’t seem to keep the veggies fresh here for some reason. Actually, I think I have just lost interest. Must work harder.

Good morning everyone. Almost Christmas, and I hope your day is filled with fun and anticipation. It’s sunny and going to be 55 tomorrow. We have 100% chance of snow tomorrow according to my phone screen. Let’s hope we can make it 3 miles up the mountain behind us to my son’s house for brunch, and that everyone can come to our house on Christmas Day for supper.
Work to do, work to do! Time to get busy instead of lounge on the couch watching the geese land on the pond.

Black Conservative Patriot has had a news program for years on YouTube. BIG President Trump supporter! He’s a darling; and a graduate of UC-Berkeley, I think; an economist by profession. His college-age children assist in the running of the channel plus they are in charge of the extra reports done on another YT channel. They all do research and BCP pretty much does the news in a chatty way, no teleprompters or notes.

This reminded me of, I think she was a little blind girl, who sang in the church that Trump and Melania went to. It was so beautiful and the tears were streaming down Melania’s face and Trump looked at her with so much tenderness and love.
