One year my friend had a huge tree. It was artificial, but looked real and was very heavy. My friend was looking for her cat, and finally found her in the tree. LOL. Amazing, but I don’t think she knocked any decorations off and didn’t turn the tree over.

Ha ha. I had to play it several times before I realized there were two cats.

Oh, dear! That homeowner has to get points for having the presence of mind and self-control to take the time to video the action instead of just shrieking and chasing after the cats.

I remember a moment when my mother was intending to shriek after the cats, but it took her awhile to get there….she was too accustomed to having to stop one or more of her seven children from doing something.

…we were picking/de-feathering 100 or so chickens my dad had dispatched in an early Montana farm morning, in the barn, circa about 1952. The process was done quickly and cleaning and those particular chickens would be in the big grocery story in Williston, ND by about noon, being prepared for sale. Same with eggs and cream (I really don’t know how many city folks ever do actually figure out where their staples come from….we had a Home Ec teacher when I was in 8th grade who didn’t know where eggs came from….we had fun with her….and afterwards, we did explain to her….)

Anyway, yes, we were picking/de-feathering/gutting…..both fire and near-boiling water were in use.

Suddenly one or two (of perhaps a dozen) cats started sniffing around. Mom intended to stop them, but she started with….”Bill! Virginia! Fred! Sharon!” (going doing the list, having started at the midway point)…..and finally, after yelling my name, she sputtered it out: “CATS!!!!!”

Fred and I were about 7/9, I suppose. We just stood there staring at her.

That was a funny moment on the farm in the barn in the morning in the ’50s!

I hope not! My cat doesn’t have much interest in my tree (but it’s artificial, so maybe that’s why.) The dog, however, chewed one of the paper ornaments last year, and likes to snack on the artificial berries (my tree came decorated with those and pine cones.)

I can say that my constant companion during this still ongoing mess has been our fat cat. He’s been parked on or next to me day and night and I didn’t have a fever.
