    Every day is such a new day with me and my computer. I finally pushed some buttons and got it where WP keeps me logged in, but now, the Like button at the top of each column has disappeared on my Mac desktop. Some days I just want to go back to about 2005 and keep whatever OS it was at the time, and never change it, or update it………..ever. Sheesh! Mornin’ all.

    Has anyone ever got a straight answer in your state about the Corona testing, and how many cycles they use? The scuttlebutt I hear is that most run about 37-40 which will result in extremely high positive rates, and then in TX, we’re testing about 120-140k/day. Even two months ago, we were testing around 100k/day. I’m not the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but it seems to me they are really cooking the books to such a level that we will never get out of the “new normal”. But try to get an answer for these questions and it’s like watching a democrat debate. They say absolutely nothing and look at you like you’re stupid.

      My daughter in law, an investment banker and really smart gal with numbers, went looking for a more complete picture in our city than just number of positive cases. She said they offer nothing but the numbers they want you to see.

      You know what this reminds me of? Physics and engineering classes. I will never forget how hard it was for some students in those classes to remember than any answer was meaningless without units of measure, and it was wrong, even if your number was right to multiple decimal places. If you don’t know whether you are talking about mph, N/m^2, then your answer has no relevance and is just scribbling. Also, the problems came at us with variables in all kinds of units of measure, and you had to choose one system and convert all other variables before solving the problem.

      This is what is going on with the virus reporting. The number of positive cases is one little piece of the whole picture, and it should be put into the whole to make sense. Also, I think the “experts”, most of them, barely can read a ruler and might be assembling various numbers that are not relevant to each other or in the correct units in relation to each other.

      In other words I’m saying some of them don’t know what the hell they are doing and all of them are manipulating what data they have. Numbers themselves are not good or bad, they are meaningless. Two people can take the same numbers and paint a drastically different picture of almost anything based on how they use them and what they leave out.

        Statistics, IMO, is the math and science of politics. It’s the fat lady dressed in velvet and fake gems who can read a crystal ball and make so many people believe she is psychic.

          If you give me at least three numbers, I can come up with just about any answer you would like. Statistics can be good, especially outside of politics, but in a political vein, they are designed for maximum effect, good or bad, depending on who’s using them and what their end-game is. Miss Wee is right, Maths iz hard, especially if you’re a politician.

    Mornin’ all. It is in the low 40’s here today. I had to wear a coat (that is a jacket to you Northeners, ha ha). But the sun is shining and the sky is perfectly clear from where I sit. The news is still coming in fast and furious. I saw a news video last night just before I went to bed of doctors and nurses getting their COVID shots, only it was all phony. The reporters went back to the hospital and the doctors admitted they were. MORE LYING. They did the video to convince us to take the vaccine when they don’t even want to.

        Good day, aus! Weather here is rain spitting but not pouring and it’s around 38 degrees with a cold wind. I’ve no intention of getting the Wuhan shot. The talk is that it changes your DNA but have no idea if that’s true.

        I was amazed today to see my neighbor–a very nice lady probably about 12-13 years younger than me and retired–NOT wearing her mask when outside. Prior to this, she wore a mask to get the mail, take out the trash, walk her dog and while she was driving alone. I wonder if she got the vaccination made “necessary” by China’s intentional dissemination of an illness. Xi is following in the footsteps of his hero, Chairman Mao. No one actually knows how many Chinese died under Mao’s regime…estimates are up to 130 million, likely more.

        Here’s another video which will give you pause. Uh-huh, China really DOES intend to take over the world via multiple methods of takeovers….

      Did you see that video of the nurse here in Chattanooga fainting? They all rushed in to say it had NOTHING to do with the vaccine.

      I’ll wait. First until I’m sure it is safe, and second until I do my own due diligence on where the vaccine came from and whether I can, as a pro life Catholic, be assured I can ethically, morally receive it.

      Sad to say, I do not trust what the American bishops are saying, and a few are indeed dissenting. Those happen to be the more traditional, faithful to doctrine ones too.

      Good afternoon, WeeWeed! Hopefully this angelic-looking little giraffe was being a good boy or girl. I recently watched a video of two giraffes fighting…boy, they can be vicious.

      Crazy how my mind flits from one thing to the next…LOL! And I got to thinking about animals someday being peaceful with each other and looked up the line: “”the lion shall lay down with the lamb” which I’ve heard for years as being in the Bible, though I don’t ever remember reading the verse.

      Turns out the phrase comes from a song entitled PEACE IN THE VALLEY, not the Bible:
      “Well the bear will be gentle
      And the wolves will be tame
      And the lion shall lay down
      By the lamb, oh yes.”

      Next I remembered that Elvis sang that song on the Ed Sullivan Show, even though Sullivan apparently did not want “gospel” music in the program. But Elvis told him that he’d promised his Mama that he’d sing it for her on the show, so he was going to do it.

      So this is for all the Mamas (and other fans) out there who remember Elvis as a young man…
