I’ve seen our Troop Leader, Miss Stella on the MeWe platform, anyone else heading over that way?

Not yet. Except for tweeting stuff that catches my attention I’m not on social media right now. I’m hoping to reduce some of my anger and rage in general, but especially to prepare for Advent. I’m just so tired of being mad at the world. And it seems like everyday I wake up the world has gotten crazier. Because stupid, stupid people.

The owner is a Christian and no-nonsense Trump conservatie who is on top of his game as far as I can tell. His site is growing at a record-breaking pace.

Do you know who owns MeWe? I know nothing about it or Parler.

Doesn’t a Mercer own Parlor? I do believe Sundance cleared that up. I’ve started viewing all of it the same way I view congress, they’re all playing for the same team and it’s against us. Democrat/GOP/CNN/Fox. Hillary spoke to this once when she opined,
‘At this point what difference does it make”

Replacing Mark Esper, Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller activates special operations forces to report directly to him

Howard Cosell; I DON”T BELIEVE IT !!!! I DON”T BELIEVE IT!!!!! They’ve done an end around the Pentagon.
More than one General who passed Obama’s loyalty test is stewing right now.

Only possible snag I see is that both the FBI and CIA have their own ‘spec ops’ teams and both agencies are, at times, so closely interwoven that it’shard to tell where one ends and the other begins.
Back in the 90s the Bureau had some of its HRT folks being trained by DoD folks (notably Delta/Blue Light) at Quantico. Some years later FBI recruitment ads for Army/Navy/AF operators started appearing in service oriented newspapers and magazines, the Bureau was trying to hire already trained and proven operators instead of trying to make them in-house.
Bottom line is it all comes down to who’s loyal to whom and what.

OK, did a little more digging on this. What’s happening is that SOCOM as a command is now reporting directly to Miller. The Secretaries of the Army, Navy and Air Force report directly to the SecDef while the assistant secretary of Defense for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict (SO/LIC) report through the undersecretary of Defense for Policy. Now the SO/LIC will report directly to the SecDef. It’s not so much the SecDef creating a Mission Impossible force as it is untangling the military bureaucracy ‘scent marking’ knots.
SOCOM is composed of special operations forces from all of the military branches and while there are those higher-ups in each service that look on specops people under them as something stuck to the bottom of their shoes, no one wants to lose one body to someone else. You lose a body, you lose power, fewer people reporting to you and you’re no longer the big stick shaker you once were. Even though those, for example, AF operators were assigned to SOCOM they still belonged to the brass downtrace in the AF.
This move was authorized 3 years ago but I’m betting that Pentagon grumbling held back its implementation until Miller just said “to hell with it’ and made it so. This is akin to how in the 50s the three services all had fingers (and rockets) in the space program and different avenues of approach until Congress gave it to NASA and allowed the AF to still keep a toe in with both the Navy and Army also getting to keep a little slice of the pie. I wouldn’t be surprised to see SOCOM made into a separate service like they did the Space Force some time in the future. This reporting change goes a long way to creating that path.

Thanks, czar, for your expertise in deciphering the codes and paths. Invaluable!
Chris Miller lives by the code of honor. If a person “loves honor more” he’s got life 3/4ths down pat.

I’m not ruling the Mission Impossible out, just saying this appears to be a program years late in being implemented. It’s not as much in the power of the SecDef to carry out independent operations, s/he and the entire military apparatus are the tools wielded by the POTUS alone.

Mornin’ all. My new maid didn’t make it yesterday because of certain circumstances that I totally understand. So, she will be here soon. It actually gave me more time to put things away. Hang in there everyone. There is still hope.

There is no hope here. Almost 3 year old underfoot throws everything on the floor, experimenting with gravity I guess.

Good day, aus! Hopefully she turns out to be thorough and competent. A good housekeeper is worth her weight in gold which is at $1,889.00 at this moment.
Good luck!

It’s certainly easy to understand how vacuuming is problematic when being on your feet is only possible for a short period of time due to physical issues. And a house when animals live aboard isn’t easy to keep shipshape. Every once in a while I wonder just how cat hair ends up in the fridge freezer.

Started the day off with a cup of coffee and an Indian scam caller!
I was in a good mood and listened to the message…this was a particularly bad-English message, sounded like someone in Bombay used Google Translate to build it and used someone with a 1930s Indian-themed movie to do voice coaching. Something about my ‘social insurance number’ having multiple suspicious transactions on it and the DEA was going to suspend it immediately’. The area code was the Texas panhandle so I felt comfortable calling (none of those off shore numbers that slam you with monster phone charges) so I grabbed my coffee and ‘dialed’.
The Indian call rep on the other end had miserable English and you could hear the chatter from the boiler room operation going on in the background. He’s obviously doing multiple scams as he didn’t know which agency had called me, he was basically lost. When I finally guided him into the ‘DEA’ scenario I went into a bit about how was DEA involved in dealing with ‘social insurance numbers’…that went on about 3 minutes before he became flustered. I then asked if he were in the Amarillo DEA office as his phone number placed him there – he was caught flat-footed and said yes. I told him that I was an Amarillo police officer, was very familiar with the Amarillo DEA office on 5th Avenue and would get my supervisor to let me off and I’d drive by and see him…what’s your name? By now he’s trying to CYA so fast that he’s flustered and can’t put his emergency thinking into anything resembling English. It was a fun cup of coffee.

Then there’s my story about my having to shepherd our Catholic chaplain smuggling a case of sacramental wine into the Coptic Monastery of Saint Macarius in 1985. We finally get into the monastery and we’re met by Pope Shenouda himself with whom we had tea and lunch. We weren’t looking for St Macarius, it was a clown car with a mad Chaplain, myself and a bribed Egyptian intel guy driving. Someone in heaven was having a god time with us.
St Macarius is one of the four monasteries at Wadi el Natrun and is about a hundred years younger than St Anthony but they all have a non-commercial religiosity about them. Best to go see them before the Moslems finally destroy them.
BTW, this is the time of the year that the Egyptian Moslems start killing Copts and blowing up their churches with what can only be government supplied explosives. The MSM used to cover these yearly events but it seems since the Great Moslem Influx you have to go to foreign news sources for coverage.

That very thing crossed my mind when I first watched the vid…how long before the jihadis remember they haven’t blown the place up yet?

The sites have all been submitted for recognition as World Heritage Sites and as hard up as Egypt is for money they won’t Copt to that. BTW, they even kicked in for rebuilding the monasteries.

I’m on both (although I have misplaced my MeWe password).
Are there any ‘groups’ on either worth joining?

I just called a major US equipment company to buy a part for one of their machines I own. The serviceman had such a thick Latino accent I could barely understand him and when he put me on hold to get someone whom I could explain what part I needed…he lost me. I called back and got a very helpful and knowledgeable woman who, when I mentioned my previous problem, mentioned they’d recently hired a lot of new help.
I keep on waiting for the kiddie educational channels to start offering offerings in Spanglish and Ebonics so that the upcoming generation can converse with each other. I see our future as a less educated and civilized version of Switzerland. I’ll now retire to my Systemic Racism 101 class.

BTW, I spent, all totaled, over an hour trying to have the manufacturer locate the part. My son found it on Amazon in 5 minutes. Sheesh.
