I said many years ago on the CTH was that the Republican’s biggest problem was they didn’t know how to effectively use the internet, especially social media, and the Democrat’s biggest plus is that they did.
The Republicans stayed in 1985 and had to be forcibly pried into the 21st century and much to late. Had the Republicans have tackled and embraced the new social media as early and enthusiastically as the Democrats we’d be in a much better place.

Anything’s gotta be better than the $#%&?&^%$#@ day we had yesterday renting a U-Haul truck for a short haul run. Makes you wonder if someone’s not somewhere out there (beneath the pale moonlight, for you Disney fans) planning these days, they’re too ‘Monte Python’ to be random or accidental.

I ended the day so pissed that I came home, looked up the name of their CEO and wrote him a letter before I even ate dinner. I know it won’t get to him, there’s phalanx of minions that stop the Great Herd from ever bothering the Big Guy but a lot of times these minions will rain down fire on the transgressors just because they were the cause of the corporate guy’s irritation. Either way it’s better than trying to get some satisfaction from the ironically named ‘customer service’.

His Never-Trumpism disqualifies him from voting on any issue relating to the election. That he is not vocal on the subject is unimportant because his actions speak for themselves. I wish the Left would reveal whatever it is they have on him.

Mornin’ all. Just came back after gettin a massage. She beat me up pretty well. LOL Last time I went was before I flew to Ohio and I would never have been able to go without the massage. The politics is getting so thick. I don’t have a problem with a lot of the reporting, except for the “what do you think he is going to do? And, what do you think the outcome is going to be?”
Hope you have a nice day. Say a little prayer for Melania to feel better and get her strength back. I have been concerned about her even though she is younger. Ever since I was sick back in Dec. and Jan. I have been more tired and even though I knew I had some arthritis, it has never actually bothered me until a few weeks ago and now my joints are swelling off and on and my fingers hurt. I don’t know if there is a connection. I also get out of breath more. I hope she doesn’t have any after effects.

WP is all over the place this morning. The tweets don’t show up, say I can’t see them, then have a blank spot, then work. I clicked on this thread and it wouldn’t all come up so I clicked again and it did. It is really squirrelly. (is that the way you spell it?)

Just do what I do in a pinch: If you’re not sure of a word’s spelling you just begin it with a capital letter and call it a proper name.

One of the YouTube channels I follow was ratted out to the government by a “concerned” viewer (National Park Service AND the FAA!) for filming in a National Park for profit, and flying a drone which makes them commercial drone users. They were fined $1,000 by the NPS and the FAA says they have to get a special commercial drone license in order to use drone footage in their YouTube videos. So. No National Parks and no drone footage for the moment.
In my opinion the “concerned” viewer is a sad little rat. There are many, many, YouTubers who use drones, and I’ll bet none of them have special commercial licenses.

If people do not wish to follow laws or legally instituted rules, they have to be willing to suffer the consequences. If they are willing, then that means they are at least complying with the penalty section of the law. This will leave them morally free to try to get the law changed.
That is the philosophy behind the type of resistance to unjust laws which keeps the participants’ moral stance at the proper level…passive resistance. It was practiced by Gandhi and King and I agree with it.

I agree and, if you watched the video, you know that they agree also, were not willfully breaking the law, and paid the fine.
Even so, would you have reported people for using a drone in their videos to the FAA?
As far as the NPS rule is concerned it is really tailored for film companies that make planned feature films, not for a YouTube channel that doesn’t plan visits very far ahead and uses a few minutes of footage.

I think they have an enemy, or someone who is jealous of their success. They aren’t even my favorite channel, but really – who goes to the trouble to report someone to a Federal agency (in this case, TWO Federal agencies) for relatively innocuous infractions?

I finally found the application form (there were no handy links on most of the sites that mention the form.) The cost to SUBMIT the form for each park is $90. You have to allow enough time (not described; check with each park.) Then there is a cost per day that is at least $150 (I found that somewhere else, not with the form.)

Stellars…didn’t want anyone to think I’ve dropped off the earth if you don’t hear from me for a while, but I’m going to take some time off from posting and being on the computer at all.
I overdid it. My right hand, arm, and shoulder has gotten to the point if I don’t follow doc’s advice to immobilize it, the injury just might get into the hard-to-cure mode. LIFE!
