Got a doctor appointment tomorrow, gonna stop at the package store on the way back and see what they have to help with dealing with a 2-year old.
He didn’t stop moving or disassembling anything he got his hands on today, refused to take a nap until about 3PM when he just hit the couch and passed out. He slept for about 3 hours and is now screaming and banging on his bedroom door as he’s not ready to go to sleep yet…we are though.

Too bad it’s not 1913…you could mail him somewhere…
Apparently when Parcel Post was introduced by the USPS in 1913, children could be posted to destinations around the U.S. This service was disbanded two years later but a few folks slipped their children through anyways.

Yeah, knew about that. Thing is that with as ‘efficient’ as the USPS is now he’d be in grad school by the time he was delivered.

Nothing like a two year old. The perpetual motion machines, combined with their inclination to scream NO! at you 30,000 times a day. Our littlest guy is three now, and shows no ability to slow down, along with major gains in being agile enough to climb the side of the Empire State Building, if given the chance. He’s also an escape artist and specializes in getting out of the house in stealth mode.

that’s ours – at two. We’re gonna have to get him a harness and modify the winch on the tractor to reel his fast-moving butt back in.

My daughter did use a harness on our older grandson when he was two and three. It was for his own protection in public places.

I used them, I’m 100% ‘for’ them, to hell with what detractors say, if they dislike them they’re welcome to relieve me of the terror-child for a few hours.

My three year old grandson, the terror, takes me back in time. He is so much like my oldest son. My oldest was the most daring, reckless, on the go child I have ever seen. He simply could NOT be still. When he was ten and a half months old he crawled out to the middle of the room, stood up on his own, and took off running.
I don’t think we saw him walk for years, and he always had a big goose egg knot on his forehead. One we walked into the kitchen and found him on top of the refrigerator. There as a chair next to the counter, but no sign of how he got from counter to the top of the refrigerator, which was a greater distance. He was under two.
The only peace we got was when he was on his rocking horse, which he used to bounce high off the floor. He kept getting bigger and better ones until the last model. Then my husband replaced springs, and ultimately took it to the shipyard and welded the frame. We would bathe him and put him in his pajamas and he would bounce until he fell asleep on the horse, wrapped around its neck.
We never got a minute’s rest with him until he was…hmmm. I’ll get back on that, he’s 44 now. Anyhow, it is a very strange deja vu experience with the current little one.

Interestingly enough, the current terror is the son of the calmest of my three sons.

Mac’s like his uncle, my middle son. His uncle was so active he burned off what he ate, his grandfather nicknamed him ‘NAA’,m short for ‘no ass at all’. He ran, never walked, and we had a harness and leash on him when we went out, he was ADHD and managed to use his hyperactivity to treat his hyperactivity. This one’s well on his way to making a happy medium – there’s nothing he won’t eat and he can’t stay still. We’ve taken to putting his meals on a plate on a table in the living room and, as he cruises by, he grabs two hands full and eats on the run. We refer to it as ‘drive-by feedings’.
In contrast my oldest son ate everything in sight and if he stopped working out for a week started looking like the Michelin Tire guy but at 6’4″ in top shape looked quite respectable. There was a short time when they both were together and the oldest had let his exercise routine…slip. They both looked alike, both were well over 6′ and side-by-side looked like one of those weight loss ‘before and after’ posters.

Our neighbors used to tie their youngest boy to a tree when we were out in the lake, he was wild. It was like Stella’s grandson for his own safety, he would just keep swimming with no destination just swim and swim and swim. It was impossible to keep their eye on him and their 5 other children not to mention their friends …..

I’ve been looking at those clips from movies/commercials where the kid’s duct taped to the wall or a door.

LOL!! I know I’ve told the story of my cousin and friends duct taping their friend to a speaker at a heavy metal concert.
Long story short. Some hearing loss to this day.

Sounds like my son when he was about 18 mo. He didn’t want to take a nap, but would sit down and fall asleep at 5:30 PM and want to sleep for several hours and then stay awake all night. So, after trying to get him to take a nap all afternoon, I then had to keep him from falling asleep until at least 8:00 so he wouldn’t be up all night. It was quite a tussle for a while.

This kid MOVES. He has thighs like tree stumps and can run as fast on tip-toes as he can on flat feet. He moves quickly over our uneven farm yard and was cruising with my son and me though the wooded areas that are not only uneven but have a good bit of debris on the ground. He has fantastic balance for a 2-year old, it ain’t easy keeping up with him and we can’t trust him outside alone, even with the dogs.
I’d pay dearly to have half the flexibility and energy he has, it’s hard to remember having that kind of energy and ability.

Oh no! My oldest daughter only needed about 3-4 hours sleep and would just go go go! She is the same way today as an adult….I can’t complain too much though because she does get it from me, I don’t need a lot of sleep but I remember those days of my child telling me “I never sleep.”

Mornin’ All. Another Great Day in the Looney Bin here.
Hey Stella, dunno if WP is still having probs, but working from the WP Reader, it skips the Viva Frei and General Discussion posts. Had to hunt for this one.
Myself, i take it personally, but that’s just me 🙂
But WP informs me today nitrous oxide is 300 times more powerful than CO2, farming being the main cause, and we’re all gonna die.
Just fyi

I don’t know why, as I don’t use the WP Reader as a rule. As far as nitrous oxide is concerned, my only opinion is that it’s great for dental work.

I haven’t take it for a long time, but I sure do prefer it to Novocaine.

I used to have a dentist who would use it if you asked. The way it seemed to me was that you might still feel some pain……..but you didn’t care.

That’s true. I just hate Novocaine because it numbs your mouth for hours.

EXCLUSIVE: Six Points on the Denver Homicide of Trump Supporter that Are Not Being Reported
By Joe Hoft – Published October 13, 2020 at 8:38am
On Saturday it was reported that a local Denver news producer and the news agency’s ‘bodyguard’ were taken into custody for the fatal shooting of a Trump supporter during dueling rallies that afternoon.
To date there are many problems yet to be uncovered by the Denver police. This may have been a coordinated attack.

My goodness. WP has been a mess today. Next door seemed all right, but I had trouble finding Stella’s General Discussion. And, then sometimes I could post without signing in each time and sometimes I couldn’t. I can see I have to sign in again for this comment. 😦

I’m now fully into the “nothing will happen to any of them” column. The “hope” thread has broken.
