My grandson Conner is fixated on pumpkins as only an autistic child can manage. They all belong to him. Last year we were able to go with him and his family to a pumpkin farm for them to explore and pick their own from the field. Seeing the unbounded joy on his face really was a lifetime highlight for me. I’ll never stop enjoying that picture in my mind.

Precious boy! Does he have a copy of Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin…
“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” (Remastered Deluxe Edition)
DVD $9.99 at Amazon

No, he doesn’t, I’m going to have to fix that, thanks for the reminder Lucille.

He’ll enjoy watching it with you and his other family members. He might even relate to Charlie.

The octopus is like the crow, a smart brain in a limited body. Oh yeah, they taste good too…

Ae they sort of like eating slightly flavored rubber? Texture is everything…I don’t like gritty and I don’t like bouncy.

Depends upon who/how it’s getting cooked. We love deep fried squid and octo and I had some smoked/teriyaki squid and octo that was chewyish but the taste more than made up for it.
It’s all up to personal taste – there’s a dish that I had in Spain where it’s cooked in its own ink…not one of my favorites. On the other hand there are Korean octopus dishes that are killer. You have to chews yourself.

Lucille, don’t ever try muk tuk (pickled whale blubber). It’s like chewing a Goodyear tire.

LOL! You can count on my not trying it.

Good morning, WeeWeed! I can’t even look at this feeble-minded, bigoted old man anymore. Such a travesty!
Also, it’s interesting that out of the “natural born” African-American population above age 35 who have run or are presently running for the highest offices in the land, we have two who are NOT natural born…Barack and Kamala. That is, of course, if you go by the definition of both parents being U. S. citizens at the time of the candidate’s birth, which IMO is the only definition.
After November 3rd, I’m looking to take a cruise on a beautiful ship sailing around the world delivering cargo…say for six months on this ship named Avontuur, built in 1920…

Some years before this incident a BUFF was dispatched to an exercise in Egypt, it flew non-stop and carpet-bombed a chunk of Egyptian desert as a display for dignitaries…perhaps a mild warning too.
We were told that the air traffic control folks at an Egyptian military base were told ahead of time the approximate time it would be there but were unable to pick it up on their radar (older Soviet crap) and were somewhat surprised when it shot down the middle of their runway at hi-speed, so low it shot up a engine smoke and desert sand dust cloud behind it.
If you ever get to go inside of a BUFF you’ll see the biggest factor here is the cramped space the crew operates in. The ’52 ain’t no 737, the space in one makes Southwest flight look luxuriously spacey, and there ain’t no beat little powder room. These beasts refuel inflight so there’s no rest stop, you just work with the somewhat primitive equipment (sorta looks like what you’d take with you camping) and there ain’t much space soooooooo….
At least the Air Force crews get better rations than military crews do, they have inflight rations that soldiers and Marines just dream about. It ain’t Galatoire’s but it ain’t MREs either, but then we didn’t sign up for the U.S, Gourmet Service.
Really amazing thing is that the last NEW B-52 built was delivered to the AF in October, 1962, coming on 60 years ago. The grand, or even great grandfathers of today’s BUFF pilots, flew these things and they’re scheduled to be here in 2040 at least. These things have a ‘lifespan’ of about 32 to 37 thousand hours in the air with the oldest one having some 22-thousandish hours on it so by limiting their airtime their lives can be extended until the B-52/B-1 replacements reach operational levels. There are about 77 B-52s expected to remain in service until 2040-2044ish so y’all up there in 2nd Bob Wing country can expect to be ahavin’ that rumbling background noise for some time to come.

I flew in the Buff for years, the lack of space is exactly right, it’s all missiles, bombs and gas.

I gt to fly back from Torrejon way back in the 60s. I consider it pre-flight training to make one appreciate the roominess of Southwest cattle car seating.

An old friend, now passed, flew B24’s in Europe. Once he and his new wife were on a sight-seeing boat tour of the Danube. As they passed under a bridge the tour guide mentioned that it had been a major target in WW2. My friend looked up and then said, “You know, I think I bombed this bridge.” Slience . . .
Love it!

Good morning everyone. I can’t eat this right now, and burgers are not my favorite food, but he makes this one look delicious. Stella turned me on to this guy, and I signed up for his recipe emails, something I usually never do.
Last year during the holidays he sent out a menu with day by day shopping, prep, and cooking instructions. I think he did the videos over a seven or eight day period.

This year it looks like we’ll have my youngest son, my youngest grandson and my oldest great grandson for at least Thanksgiving. My son and I will be competing in the kitchen so we’d better start getting the menu ready soonest. It’s the fun cooking more than the fun eating. Then there’s the ‘fun with leftovers’ part…

I had read much of this years ago. Being as to how my family workied int he airline industry, I always sit at the emergency door, read the info, look at the people around me, and use my inner strength to help lift the plane off the runway and into the air. Ok, so I’m a little wierd…

Dan says President Trump called him before his surgery. Love our President!

After surgery Wednesday to remove a large tumor on his neck, Dan Bongino tweeted that it may be cancer
By Peter Barry Chowka
Studies have confirmed that a positive outlook and a “fighting spirit” benefit the person who is dedicated to surviving his cancer. It should be obvious to anyone who has followed Dan Bongino’s career that he is a man possessed of not only a positive attitude, but a classic fighting spirit.

Is There a Doctor in the House?
Editorial of The New York Sun | October 8, 2020
https://www.nysun.com/editorials/is-there-a-doctor-in-the-house/91291/
Too bad there’s not a 25th Amendment-type clause in the Constitution granting to the cabinet the power to remove from office the Speaker of the House. That’s our reaction to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s announcement that she is going to lead tomorrow in the House a discussion in respect of using the 25th Amendment against President Trump. She’s upset that he called off negotiations with her over a Covid relief bill.

Good gawd. You would think Whitmer was the 2nd coming of Mother Teresa and Margaret Thatcher by the way the lefties are gesticulating and prostrating themselves today. I’m throwing back in their faces the joy and glee most of them have had with the POTUS and how national journalists have been wishing him dead. Waiting for their response, but I’ll follow up tomorrow night. I will not be holding my breath until then, however.
