    Mornin’ everyone. I am just checking in before I take a shower and go to the chiro again. I am doing much better. Oh, I ran into a friend here on our walk this morning. She is near my age and she is scared to death of COVID. She is mad at DeSantis because he opened things up completely here. She thinks everybody should wear a mask, etc. on and on until COVID goes away. Boy, they really have her mixed up. And, she is a Republican. I tried to ease her fears, but I don’t think I managed to do any good. Later, Gator. 😀

    It’s not hard to understand why. This area, like Macomb County and other parts of Michigan, has been hit hard by globalization and free trade, two of Trump’s favorite punching bags. Plenty of people here have personal experience with industrial decline in the region. Tom Roy, 57, vice chairman of the Saginaw County Republican Party, says both of his parents worked for General Motors, both were union people, and he remembers what happened here after President Clinton signed NAFTA.

    “You go down to Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, Saginaw, you see the devastation,” he says. “And that was one of the reasons I liked Trump from the very beginning, when he mentioned that we needed to get rid of NAFTA. Because I remember all the days my parents were worried about getting laid off and not having a job and what was going to happen to our economy and what was going to happen to our house. It affects you.”

    The Fascist America That Kamala Promises

    I do not use the term “fascist” lightly, but when even the liberal Los Angeles Times opens an article with a paragraph like the one that follows, I think fascist is apt:

    “California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris is drawing fire from supporters of an anti-abortion activist whose undercover videos and identity cards were seized by the state Department of Justice this week after Harris’ political campaign sought to drum up support for Planned Parenthood.”

    The activist is David Daleiden, 27 at the time of the April 2016 raid on his Huntington Beach apartment. In 2016, Harris was running for California’s open U.S. Senate seat. At the time of the raid, Harris’s campaign website was asking supporters “to take a stand and join Kamala in defending Planned Parenthood.”

    This is an excellent talk released by The White House on October 5, 2020. Hopefully it gets lots of play, It certainly shows from Day 1 that he’s not been sitting on his hands in the WH basement….
