    Christians Need Not Apply?
By Jerry Newcombe – Posted: Sep 30, 2020

Should being an active Christian bar you from public service? Yes, say many pundits today. It would seem that the left wants to impose a religious test to bar anyone who truly believes in Jesus from serving in government.

This drives me right up the wall. The Dems are lying about EVERYTHING. Varney just was on FOX and FRIENDS explaining that JoeBlow lied about being the one who should get credit for the economic recovery.

Mornin’ everyone. It is only 73* here and the humidity must be low. It is a nice respite from summer. Hope it holds for a few days. Hope everybody has a good day. I am going to go get more of my hair that has color on it cut off today. Soon I will be white headed. Uh oh, is that rasisss?

Good morning, aus! It’s 58 degrees right now, heading to 76. If you feel fine with white hair, go for it. I love the white/gray look.

A small reminder of how we females have coped with the need to look “acceptable” in the past…LOL!….

LOL. Right now I am more of a white/orange look. I did have bright red hair, so as it has grown out it has faded to a sort of strawberry orange look. remember the , I think they were called creamsickles that were vanilla in the middle and orange on the outside? That’ me.

I’m growing out my hair too. I thought I would hate it, but I don’t. It’s beautifully white. Right now it is mixed, but since mine is shoulder length, I french braid the back, which looks really interesting, and the top is pure white.

Good morning everyone. It’s going to be in the low 70s today, cooler the rest of the week. Last year on October 1-3 the highs were 97, 100, and 100. I like this better. Have some homemade tomato soup lined up for supper tomorrow night. Mmm, first soup of the year.

If you wouldn’t mind, perhaps you could include that recipe on the Thanksgiving Recipe post.
I’ve naught to offer in those posts, but read them assiduously. Thanks!

How many people are you making soup for?

If just one, use one can fire roasted tomatoes, with juice, one of the single serving size chicken bone broth jars, about the same size as the can of tomatoes. You can also use chicken flavor better than broth and make up your own. I also have used and like the vegetable flavored. Sauté about a quarter cup very finely minced onion, if you like it, in a little butter and olive oil, along with chopped garlic to taste. I use canned roasted garlic in mine. Simmer all this for an hour or so, add Parmesan cheese to taste, just to flavor and stir until it melts. Add heavy cream when you cut it off, for this small an amount of soup just a splash, and add chopped basil.

Thank you so much! Will give it a try Monday – stores too crowded over the weekend.
              Thanks again.

For that amount I use four cans, and one of the big jars of bone broth. Forgot to give you an important step! Purée those tomatoes before cooking in a blender for food processor! So sorry, I hope you see this. We also add more park when we heat the soup, and it is great with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Good morning, Menagerie! It’s very nice weather right now. I should get out my lawn chair and sit outside. Have a lovely day planning your soup menu for autumn.

Memo to self….the cat may be trying to do me in……

Iggy Bop decided to wake me this morning by pushing a 10# metal sculpture off my headboard onto my head. The sculpture split my forehead wide open but his strategy worked, I was wide awake….

My head’s a wee bit sore, but it’s 41 degrees at the moment and it’s going to be another beautiful fall day.

I’m curious about the photo on the home page, is that really a residence or was it photo shopped? Or is it The The Newsom, Pelosi, And Schiff Suicide Prevention Center?

It’s really a residence. One of the commenters at a YouTube I watched on Cornwall which contained views of the bridge and house said he remembers the day a huge crane showed up to transport a grand piano to the single residence.

Stella, I think I remember you told me you tried the rotisserie chicken packs from Costco. I just had another favorite for lunch with it. Half of a cooked spaghetti squash, forked up in the shell, and arranged scooped out so you can add the chicken. Top with salt and pepper, whatever cheese you like, and either salsa or fire roasted tomatoes. Nuke in microwave.

It is delicious and takes about five minutes to make. Since I can’t really cook much now, I’m buying the packages of pre cooked spaghetti squash at Costco, so all I have to do is assemble. Can’t remember if I already mentioned this and apologies if I have. It is just so rare for me to stumble on an idea like this that is so easy. I usually come up with more complex stuff, and this beats most of them.
