Seeing that pic reminded me how long it’s been and how much I miss those clear mountain streams. Those streams run over rock and stream beds that have little dirt, while down here there just ain’t no rock, it’s all dirt. We have plenty of water but it all has so much sediment in it it’s hard seeing 6 inches.
We used to have streams running thru town and a big ‘un coming out of the canyon and they were so clear you could see the trout just hanging in the current, waiting for food to drop into their mouths…you know, like Democrats.

Today’s pic is Lake Superior, believe it or not.

We left the land of rocks behind when we moved south. New Orleans is just a huge pile of stuff that’s washed down the Mississippi over the centuries and here we are a few hundred feet off of bedrock but instead of black mud we have red clay.

We have a spring stream about 8 miles south west of me it’s beautiful, clear cold water, lots of rocks, there are 2 spigots and people can fill water bottles there. Best tasting water. Never crowded.
I may need to take a drive today 🙂 !

The seasonal stream that feeds our lake (not the only source, just the only stream) is cleanish as it flows mostly over grass but it’s not a stream per se. We need rocks!

Next time I go I’ll take some pictures, it is really nice and clean.

We’d do the same but it just looks like any old mud puddle.

Understood. The town I live it used to be a tourist destination for the wealthy because of its natural springs (decades ago). Still a pretty quiet town, lots of woods but for your and Czarina it would be way too noisy. For me being a Chicagoan it always makes me laugh when people complain about the traffic here.

There are some natural springs around the area, with lovely, clean water at a fountain which people visit with their bottles to fill for drinking at home. Kentwood and Abita Springs are about an hour+ drive away. Both have companies which fill and deliver to home and office. But they are not beautiful streams with rocks: Czar is right, we miss rocks. If I win the lottey I’ll have some shipped here…

They sell rocks by the road side here! Seriously 🙂 . I’ll take a ride out today or tomorrow more likely tomorrow and get some picture 🙂 !

You mean…the Warm Gulch Sp[rings?
Main thing that would bug her is the cold, it gets below 65 and the complaints begin. I, however, used to get up, walk out into the mountain snow and air and feel alive! Right up to the point I had to relocate the snow.
I still sorta miss slogging thru that crunchy mush as the snow starts to melt down…it’s very short ‘missing’, gets old fast.

I think snow is pretty, love to go for a walk along the river in a huge snowstorm.
Hate driving in it.
I don’t think it is Big Gulch and I know most of them have dried up. I will look into it. We don’t have a lot to chalk up as our own so we brag on Les Paul, and the natural Springs that used to be. I know there are still some around. Lots of beautiful hiking trails and even some waterfalls.

I used to love hiking the side canyons off of Ogden Canyon in the winter. You could find trails that no human had been on that year, they were so isolated.
There was a Waterfall Canyon on the west slope of the mountains right by the old Catholic hospital and it had a narrow hiking trail up the north side of the canyon – came a hair’s breadth from getting killed on it – that went to the mountain’s top and had a gorgeous view.

Sounds awesome, I loved hiking in CA of course I had a baby strapped to me and thought my native Californian friend was nuts when she wouldn’t flinch when a snake crossed our path.

This also reminds me of some mountain lakes I’ve seen in Colorado and Nevada. There is a beautiful lake up on the mountain crossing of Cherohala Skyway. It has always been clear like that and has smaller rocks in the bottom.

I find the Mississippi amazing. Some years ago I used to be friends with a ferry captain and he’d let me ride the wheelhouse with him. He told me how the river at the dock was 90 feet deep but you couldn’t see 6″ below the surface. One of my favs was when a huge tree trunk would just suddenly pop out of the river, straight up into the air, then sink back in and disappear, he said it was the currents. The trunks could travel hundreds of miles downriver, underwater, in the currents, and hit just the right opposing currents that would make it surface.
He also showed me the whirlpools in the river you don’t generally see. He said that every now and then one would set up shop in the river for an extended time and sometimes they’ll build a mud hill by sucking the silt out of the water and creating a huge mound of mud, there’s that much mud in the Mississippi.

Sedimentary rock is usually stacked one upon the other and standing straight up. This rock must have been pushed up and over like that perhaps by an earthquake thousands of years ago. I tried to google for other photos of the rock around the glacier but couldn’t come up with anything.
I did find this interesting article by a tour guide…
The edge of the glacier facing the upper part of the lake reminded me of a castle wall. Photo: Paul Kirtley

Was this POS a set up? He looked unhealthy. Was he supposed to die in a storm of bullets and be a martyr for the cause ? Add gasoline to the fire?
Idiot dialogue in the video.
I’m pleased he is dead and can not kill any more innocent people.

That guy had a serious personality disorder. He projected his own need to kill onto his victim by saying he had “no choice” but to kill because he was defending his friends of color from being murdered by the victim. Of course, the victim wasn’t trying to kill anyone.
Let’s remember Aaron “Jay” Danielson’s name and forget that this psychopath who murdered him cold blood ever existed…just eliminate his name from our memory banks.
Btw, lovely, the NYPOST photo of the female standing with the murderer is his daughter whom he corrupted. He did the same type psychotic corruption on his son, too. We’ll likely hear from them again when as adults they’ll be arrested for mass murders.

Whoops my first post here was meant to go under Czar’s post I must have replied in the wrong box.
I didn’t watch the interview with the killer. I am just pleased he is off of the face of the earth and can’t kill again. Looks like he died in vain though since I haven’t heard of rioting for him, white privilege strikes again!

Yep, he gained no points with the people he killed for. The Father of Lies is working overtime keeping the whole brainwashed lot on the path to H***.

54° here earlier but slowly climbing up, sunny beautiful sky, my favorite kind of day 🙂 !
It appears from reports that President Trump had 15 miles of people in support of him when he went to Kenosha, Joe Biden had less than a hundred people, his “town meeting” had about a dozen people?
There are Trump signs all over, my favorite is “Keep America Free, Vote Trump!!”

In another article I read about the bird it stated that the echo is an enhancement the YouTube creator put in there. Disappointing! Why would he even do that?

Hey, why not? The climate changed under your feet!
I must have listened to Carol King sing…”I feel the earth move under my feet,

Recently my oldest nephew (b.1964) was sorta upset I didn’t save all my 1960s-80s record albums. He has a huge collection. I put them in a garage sale when I moved from L.A.

A pretty big clarification. The other day there was a huge fake news story about the Vikings QB and his view on wearing masks. Here’s the truth…

JOURNALISTIC MALPRACTICE, SPORTS EDITION
Kirk Cousins is the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. An “out” Christian, he has sometimes been targeted by liberal sportswriters. Several weeks ago, he gave an interview on a podcast that apparently was released today. The interview gave rise to a story in City Pages, a weekly tabloid-style rag that doesn’t pretend to do actual journalism.
