Hanging in there aus. The pain comes and goes, and now my big challenge is boredom and loneliness. I had a pretty active and one the go life, at least in comparison to the total inactivity of now. That is hard to deal with. At least it will be short term.

Yes, when the dog broke my leg I was down for 6 weeks, except for MD appointments and visits to the hyperbaric chamber the chiropractor’s office 3 x per week. I watched alot of HGTV, read books, caught up on professional journals, did mindless things. Begged the MD to let me go back to work after 4 weeks b/c I was losing my mind!

And then there are to stories of getting her broken self into the car on the day she broke her leg and the Rube Goldberg way of getting her in and out for weeks after that. All that time as a Combat Engineer came in handy.

Good morning, Menagerie! I always think it’s neat that folks name the species of various flowers…so just who were Alex Mingus and Darlene? LOL! I read that dahlias have 42 different species.
Pain is a bummer and forced to be inactive nearly equals it. No high kicks for a while or whirling around the dance floor, but as you say, it’s temporary. God bless, and pull out St. Augustine’s reflections on suffering…still the best explanation I’ve read so far.

Mornin’ All, beautiful day here. Hot, humid, and sunny. What a week! And, more to come this next week. I have to take my doggie to the kennel because I will be in St. Augustine next week. We checked and everything seems to be pretty good up there. So, we should have a good time.

Good afternoon, aus! It’ll be 90 here today and 99 tomorrow! Hope you have a wonderful trip. Are you planning to spend a day on a sightseeing cruise?
Will the kennel allow Loki to bring her own bed or some familiar toy? That might calm a doggie’s fears somewhat.

Well, they wanted to limit what I left there. They didn’t want her leash, harness, or even the bag I brought her food in. Less for them to have to keep track of, I guess. I think it is a good place, but it almost broke my heart to leave her there. She will have to stay in a cage. I hate that for her. She will think she has been abandoned again……..until I come back to get her. The young girl who is took her in seemed very nice and sweet and they have a big yard for her to run in. But, she is only let out for a short while, five times a day. I know………..she will survive it. Oh, they do have a facebook page and put videos of the dogs on it. That may help……….me.

My Grand Daughter works for a place that is like a doggie daycare. They kennel dogs, and she just loves it. Some of the regular customers like her so much, that in the summer she has all the work she wants by pet sitting at their homes when they go on vacation. It’s a well paying sideline she’s found to store away college money. I’m so proud of my resourceful gal and trustworthy as well.

I am not sure what all we will be doing. We both wanted to go to the fort, but it is closed, probably because it has been attacked by COVID. 🙄 I meant to say that I took my doggie’s little stuffed toy that she plays with sometimes and a pillowcase that I had slept on. I thought that would help.

Good day to you, WeeWeed! There is no trick dirty enough that BHO wouldn’t try or approve. A narcissist without conscience.
IMO, only those already convinced of his sainthood pay any attention to him. I doubt that many young blacks think about him at all. He certainly doesn’t have coattails as most endorsements he’s made mean nothing to his minions. They only supported him because of white guilt and POC rage. Few, if any, did their due diligence on him and still bristle if you accuse The One of being a socialist who would love to see America removed from the world of nations.
It annoys me no end to be around most Democrats nowadays. It’s repulsive how many lies they believe. Even in my wildest days of Dem support, I don’t think I was ever as bad as present-day lefties. I can hardly wait until November 4th when we will know if Americans have gone mad or if citizens have decided to love their country and try to improve her under President Trump.

Only in Louisiana, folks: I went to Bogalusa today and it’s election day. In the race (no pun intended)…(Ok, jes a lil’un) the City Court Judge’s seat is being fought over by David Duke (not THE David Duke) and Robert Black (he ain’t). There’s gotta be a Reader’s Digest ‘Life in These United States’ honorable mention in there somewhere.
