Good afternoon, WeeWeed! Who knew! Frankly, Mr. or Ms. Owl would likely have preferred to keep it secret seeing as they are so spindly looking.
I woke up this morning feeling semi-OK and as of about 1/2 hour ago I’m showing total signs of having a cold. So how did I get it? I’ve not been anywhere except here on the duplex property taking out the trash and getting my mail. Spoke to two people in a week and neither was close.
If I’d been out here…
…at least I would have had an enjoyable rainy day at the beach!

Mornin’ everyone. Sky is white here, I expect more pop-up showers, and the temp is a little lower, down around 80*. I have a lot of cleaning and packing to do today. It sure is a lot of work to go take a relaxing vacation.

Absolutely gorgeous day here. Clear blue skies, warm sun, glacier-clad mountain peaks across Cook Inlet and air temp in the low 50s. Green grass finally shooting up after the last snow melted about 2 weeks ago. Time for DH to get the lawn mower going. And time to plant the seed potatoes we got from the local greenhouse yesterday. Happy Thursday, y’all! And have a great vacay, Mom.

I think here on the Kenai Peninsula we have about 110 frost-free days. Maybe a few more the last few years, seems like spring has been coming earlier than it used to.

If you don’t think things have adapted to the modern world…
I just watched a honey bee harvesting pollen off of the roof of my car. It’s been very pollen-heavy here and the vehicles are coated, it was just walking on the roof picking up bits of pollen and stuffing them into its leg pouches -and they were full. I guess it works, why should the bee wander from flower to flower when there;s a sea of pollen there on the roof. I wonder how, when it gets back to the hive, it will dance-explain the pollen trove on the gray, 2019 Chevy in the driveway?
