Good afternoon, lovely! Beautiful! Love close-ups like this. You’re compiling quite a portfolio.

Beautiful flower. But, it makes me think of flower in a Star Trek episode.

Nice rainstorm, 2″ today with more (but not as much, hopefully) overnight. It’s amazing what the trees look like after a good rain, plumped up and smiling.
I spent most of the evening during the storm with terrierista jammed into the chair next to me, the latest seems to be her fear of heave rain and thunder. Iffin it tain’t one thing…

That should be ‘heavy’ but, in all fairness, down hear it’s pronounced ‘heav-e’.

Usually we keep her out in the living room when we go to bed. She has covered chairs/couch to sleep on while the other dogs have designated spots on the bedroom floor. Last night we let her in and I made her a spot by my side of the bed. She dutifully settled in and, after she knew we were asleep, sneeeeeeeeeaked up onto the bed. She doesn’t push, she knows she’s really not supposed to be up there, so she finds an empty spot, slides in and curls up. You’d never know she was there.

In the 70s here too, temp and humidity, but the ground’s mud. No hiking today.

Beautiful today, no mud, even along the river. Need to mow but I think I’ll wait until tomorrow.

You’re welcome, Mary. I’m noticing so many people are getting down and staying there worrying about what’s going to happen, thinking our President is going to lose on November 3rd, and worrying about their neighbors losing jobs and businesses. Taking time to thank God for the good things, for flowers and vegetable gardens, may seem like a small thing, but it’s such a life saver to keep looking up…and around.
God bless your day!

Mes excuses, I meant to post:
Instead two Vera Lynns showed up though two Vera Lynns are not too much Vera Lynns.
And apropos to the subject I can’t forget THE French WW2 chanteuse, Edith Piaf:
I was in Germany when she died and there was a large French contingent on the base. When she died and the news hit they played her music in their club, drank and carried on as if it were the end of the world. That’s where I first heard her songs.

In my college choral group there was a young French fellow, with a great accented tenor voice, whom us gals liked. He frequently spoke of Edith Piaf, who was still alive at the time, and her tragic, talented life. I think the guys in the group thought he was nutty for his devotion to her and weren’t sympathique. C’est la vie!

Just after 911 I was sent to work at a joint intel office and I brought my Piaf CDs to work. Another analyst from another agency came over to my cube and it turned out he was a big
Piaf fan too so he brought his in and at lunch we turned the volume up and more people discovered her.

Mornin’ everyone. Hope your day is beautiful. My big excitement for the day is my doctor’s appt. It will be over the phone. 🙄 She will be explaining my bloodwork that was done last week. This will be mostly a waste of time because, without the paperwork there in front of me, I will simply be saying “uh huh, ok, yeah” when I have no idea what she is talking about. I am going to pull out a copy of an old bloodwork sheet so I can at least follow the groups of letters and numbers she is talking about.

Mornin’ mom!
The way it works where I am is that the lab, the doctor, and the hospital are all under one roof. I have an on-line account and can look at my blood work results as soon as the doctor does.

I have to go to a lab to get my blood drawn. They are not set up like that. I have friends who go to a big clinic like that, but they pay a lot more for it. Besides, I went to one and didn’t like their attitudes about anything. And, the doctor was Hispanic, a very pretty, very sweet, very nice lady, but her accent was so thick I kept having to ask her to repeat everything she said. So, when my insurance changed I found a different doctor and I am happy even though it isn’t as convenient as it might be. Plus, they have a really great urgent care attached that I have used several times.

I have a choice of labs. One is big and busy, and I don’t like it. The one I usually use is in the Heart Center. I never have to wait (in fact I’ve never seen another patient in there when I visit) and everybody is very kind and nice. It’s convenient to have all of my medical records in one place, and I don’t think I’ve ever paid for routine blood work.

My doc closed her office as she’s in the COVID danger zone, and my visit hit just about two days after she closed. Her secretary tried to do a virtual visit but they’re set up in a 21sr century, hi-speed access to the internet mode, and we’re still in 1989 DSLish mode. She has my bloodwork so I suppose that were anything amiss she’d have called.
On the other hand my ‘doctor-owned’ hospital clinic gave me an in-person appointment last week. When you arrive you give your name to the person at the door, they take your temp, give you a mask if you don’t have one and a slip of paper with a phone number on it. You go back to your car, call that number, give them your info and when they have an open room they call you back. From then on it’s business as usual. They’re desperate to get that full billing back into play.

My last appointment at the heart center was cancelled. They asked me if I had a Ipad which, apparently, is the only kind of device they use for virtual visits. My clinic will call me if there is something in my blood work that I need to know about.

A beautiful shepherd, to remind me of my big boy! Thank you. Procedure went fine. Lab rsults in a week or so. Surgery center has been steilized, and is staffed with very safe acting people, who took good care of me.
Speaking of looking at lab tests, my lab test results are sent to me on my phone, and when I read them I get nine sorts of worried due to the outside the normal range results which show up, and start looking down rabbit holes about what they might mean. Waste of time, since one must understand organic chemistry to make sense of them as a whole. Doctor today said mine were WNL, despite the diffeerences. Whew!

Good morning Czarina! Happy that the procedure went fine. Prayers for good results!
Agree on the lab tests, it’s easy to figure out you have 30 seconds to live if you just go by an internet search, especially for a lay person like myself.
Happy you like the pup, he was just watching us from a second story window, enjoying the fresh air and smiling, not a peep out of him but he kept a close eye on us.
And I actually got a little sun burn!

Good morning, aus! Best of luck in having a successful phone conference. My insurance company, as part of their “senior” care, recommends these types of conferences when it’s inconvenient to actually go to an office. I haven’t tried it yet.
My only advice is to…

It wasn’t bad, but not like going to the office. I don’t have an iphone so we couldn’t facetime, or whatever they use. I’m not in ill health and only take two prescriptions, and all my bloodwork was good . I can certainly see where this wouldn’t work in some situations. I mean, sometimes a doctor should see how an older person especially sits or stands, things like that.

When patriots see the Pelosis of this nation wishing to be our rulers and not our servants, we instinctively know they are wrong and are thumbing their noses at us, our founders, our beautiful founding documents, and ultimately our Creator Who provides us with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…our unalienable rights.
A pastor once said that because hell is such a terrible place, perhaps God–Who declares that He loves everyone–gives extra time to the wicked on earth so they have every opportunity to repent and change their lives before their final breaths. I don’t know.
I do know God gives each human being the ability to choose how he lives his life. I’ve heard it said that God should simply make everyone be good. But that would leave out freedom and we’d be puppets. We automatically bristle at such a thought. We’re stewards of what God has given to us, and He desires us to use our gifts and talents for good. But He doesn’t force us to do anything.
God has apparently given us who see evil for what it is the responsibility of calling out the evil humans among us, bring them to justice, and cause them to cease what they are doing. In the case of office holders, we hopefully remove them from their positions of power…easier said than done, of course. But there it is…it’s up to us. And at this challenging time I don’t think a goodly percentage are doing too terrible a job of it. We just have to keep on praying, doing His will, and expending the effort. God give us strength!
