Thanks, lovely! I just listened to this vid and remember our teacher trying to teach a bunch of 7th and 8th graders to Mambo…hilarious! We did, however, learn to perfection the “huah” toward the end of the record…LOL!

Apropos gardening, we had our GGS out making his Mother’s Day present. She was asking me about what plants would go good around her house inside and out, she was going to buy some. As we’re plant-heavy we had GGS out making cuttings of our giant schefflera plant, popping pups off of an airplane/spider plant and repotting a croton for Mother’s Day gifts.

Afternoon Wee 🙂 ! People here are openly defiant of Evers, even eating in outside patio restraint space. So far I haven’t heard of any harassment, still waiting of the WI Supreme Court ruling as to whether it is lawful to demand we stay home until May 26th,
I can’t post here what I would say to that little Commie Evers if I saw him but he and his BS can go to hell.

My attitude exactly 🙂 . I don’t think they are trying here, I’m sure Milwaukee is a different story.

Mornin’ Everyone. Sunny outside. My friend lives about a 1/2 hour from me and she said it rained for 3 hours hard and they only got about a 1/2 inch. We got nothing here. Hope you guys up North didn’t freeze over the weekend. Looking forward this week. More good news, Maybe? 🙂
Got an email last night that we could have a week in Key West at the end of the month. We have been trying to get one for years connected with her time-share because it is the only way we could afford it. We had gotten a week after waiting over 2 years and then it got cancelled at the last minute because of the hurricane. Se, we were back on the waiting list. So, we were all happy last night. Woke up this morning that the rental company had jumped the gun and the place isn’t opening until July. 😦 This time share stuff is pretty much a racket.

Sorry about your vacation!
Temps went down to freezing last night, but it was raining. When I let the dog out last night about 11, big fluffy snow flakes were coming down, but nothing stuck.

I really loved it when it snowed when we lived in Upstate NY. I imagine my attitude might have changed if we had stayed there or I had to go out to work. LOL

Good morning, aus! It’s 60 and the sun is in and out of clouds. The trees are leafing and blooming prettily awaiting more rain tomorrow for a few days.
The Spokane radio station often has ads for companies which assist people who want out of their timeshares. Apparently the contracts are open-ended in favor of the owner and often the contractual obligations pass to heirs whether they want them or not. Bizarre but apparently legal way of doing business.

She has two timeshares. One that she loves and uses and another one that is near Miami and she hates it but can’t seem to get rid of it. There is a way she can “book it” and go somewhere else instead which she uses. But, all her friends are too old and sick to travel, except me and I’m too poor, so she doesn’t get to travel as much as she would like.

I can remember back in the 90s when timeshares were ‘the’ thing and developers were converting anything they could buy in New Orleans to timeshares.
Residents couldn’t get off the ferry at the foot of Canal Street without being tackled by a herd of timeshare salescreeps, you had to forcibly wade your way thru them. I don’t know what happened to most of those timeshares after Katrina, but knowing NOLA someone got scammed out of something, and the big thing now is turning most of the city into hotels, you just don’t see local timeshares advertised any more.

WHEN AND BY WHOM WERE THE CONTINENTS GIVEN NAMES?
By Diego Alejandro García, a voice from the Southern Cone (Answered Apr 29, 2015 · Upvoted in 2020 by Nicholas Sokol, Ph.D. Geography & Atmospheric Sciences, University of South Carolina)
Most of us know America is named after Amerigo Vespucci; however, I didn’t remember about the cartographer who first used the name America.
“America comes from the name of the Italian explorer Amerigo (Americus) Vespucci, the first to propose the newly discovered lands were a new continent and not India. Cartographer Martin Waldseemüller named the continent America (land of Americus) in his 1507 map and the name stuck.
“Africa comes from the Roman designation of the area around Carthage in what’s modern day Tunisia, Africa Terra, meaning “land of the Afer” (pl. Afri). It only began to represent Northern Africa (excluding Egypt) after the administrative restructuring of Diocletian in 293 and later the whole continent as knowledge of it grew in the middle ages. The etymology of the word is unclear and but could be Phoenician in origin.” See modern map:

This afternoon the Louisiana governor was supposed to give his take on reopening the state. Instead of the gov on comes some string bean geek with 30 minutes of charts and graphs. The guy’s clothes don’t fit, they’re all way too big and his tie dates to about 1957. After a half hour of his hawking charts, statistics and projections – all spoken with flailing gestures and a midway pitchman’s delivery – on comes the gov and says the state largely meets the criteria for reopening at Phase 1 level.
And to think I was watching reruns of Judge Judy and they seemed more captivating.

WI Gov. Tony Evers allows nearly all nonessential businesses to reopen with limits

So our Socialist governor is giving the little people permission to live their lives under his new draconian rules.
Dirty little secret Ever’s no longer has the power of a State of Emergency, it was declared March 12th, 2020, the law only allows him to declare it for 60 days. Now he has to get legislative approval.
That is not going to happen.
Can’t wait to get out to some restaurants and small independent businesses. Evers can kick his “not serve more than 5 patrons” in the gutter where it belongs.
WI Supreme Court still has not ruled if Evers and what’s her name over stepped a legal boundary.
