Local Walmart looks like it did after Katrina, empty shelves abound. The butter, margarine and much of the cream products section was bare. Lotta empty shelves and while there was a goodly amount of chicken there were spotty pork and beef outages. Plenty of Chinese seafood though.

Bread and paper towels are back, didn’t get into the TP aisle though. Did manage to get the last bottles of Pace mild salsa, smoked sesame oil and sugar free French Vanilla coffee creamer and the last 40 can pack of seafood pate’ cat food -they may be of stray origins but they’re fussy.

Walmart’s put in arrows to route customers down one aisle and up another, trying to prevent two-way cart traffic and keep shoppers from passing. Great idea but impractical as shoppers don’t allshop at the same speed and stopped shoppers, not to mention Walmart clerks restocking shelves from large aisle-blocking conveyances, block the aisle and still cause big knots of shoppers. Oh yeah, about half of the shoppers don’t follow the arrows and still go whatever way they want. Walmart might say it’s for customer safety but it looks like sharp marketing to me, forcing shoppers to use aisles they otherwise wouldn’t to access aisles they want, perhaps impulse buying along the way.

The staff is supposed to be wearing masks though I saw a few who weren’t and more than a few whom weren’t wearing them correctly. Hardly any were wearing gloves and where they have a person ‘sanitizing’ the checkout areas it’s perfunctory. On mine there were wet areas on the belt, most likely from condensation from cold products, that were rotating thru as I put my items on the belt.

It is what it is and it’s a learning game. Luckily we were stocked from hurricane prep and ahead of the curve in obtaining medical supplies to prevent infection and help treat it too. Czarina’s been in COVID patients’ faces for weeks now and nary a sniff – we’re blessed.

So what, they caught a picture of Uma and John on the way back from a Hollywood Obama fundraiser?

BTW, two of your BUFFs are going to be doing a flyover in NOLA tomorrow…wonder if they’re taking targeting suggestions?

Yeah, we wouldn’t have enough laser designators to pass out for NOLA alone.

BTW, one of the two cops ambushed and shot in Baton Rouge by an oppressed individual has died, the other survived his head wound and is on the med though no word yet on how much residual damage there’ll be. There’s been a rash of cop shootings in NOLA and BR of late.

Yes. The same oppressed individuals here refuse to self isolate/shelter at home because I suppose they have robberies and whatnot on their calendars and can’t reschedule, thus – incidents.

Oh yes, go into NOLA and despite the stay-home and wear-a-mask orders you see the oppressed and downtrodden trolling for Medicaid benefits.

BTW, 7 months after the Hard Rock Hotel collapsed while the inspectors who were supposed to inspect it were out someplace else, the derelict mess still stands. I’m getting closer to my beer bet that it will still be standing come hurricane season, 1 June. I love Democrats, they’re so predictably incompetent.

Two of ’em, one’s legs are dangling but covered by a drape. That area’s lousy with tats too, probably ain’t gonna be much to recover…when they get around to it.

They’re going back into civil court tomorrow to work on who/what’s going to be done’ issues and the preservationists are getting in now as the city wants to destroy three or four historic buildings around the demo site so the cranes can get access. The fact that the demo’d historical buildings will become YET MORE #$@%&%# hotels that will produce more tax revenue than the old historic buildings did.

Once the demo’s done the city is looking at millions in tort suits related to its failed due diligence issues.

It appears to me that New Orleans exists only to provide a home to the most elite thugs in the entire nation, and a bedrock of litigation potential to thugs with law degrees. But that’s just outside looking in, I admit. If all the good cooks moved north a couple hundred miles one day what would be left, other than some beauty in architecture?

The city’s a dystopian playground. It was a diant Disneyland as far as celebrations for adults went but it’s thug elites took over and have become more visibly heavy-handed than before.

As far as the lawyers go, they’ve always been more crooked than the crooks, they’ve just become more polished.

Mornin’ everyone. Sunny and warm here with only a possibility of rain tomorrow. And, my big excitement for tomorrow is…………my hairdresser has not cancelled my appt for tomorrow afternoon. She said she would let me know if she wasn’t going to be there. She was pretty mad last month at my last appt about this whole C19 mess.

The House of Representatives has identified itself as a non-essential service
    By Andrea Widburg – April 29, 2020

The original plan in Washington, D.C., was for both the Senate and the House to reconvene on May 4. News broke on Tuesday, though, that the House will not be returning to work. It turns out that so many members of the House panicked at the thought of working once more for the American people that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer was forced to announce that the House would remain closed next week…

Disappointing, and infuriating. We expect the FBI to act better. Or maybe we don’t now.

Totally disillusioning. With the head of the FBI reporting to agenda-driven lefties such as Obama’s Attorneys General Holder and Lynch and to the likes of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, nothing good was going to come of it. When whistleblowing was a national necessity, it appears no one (though we don’t know for sure) in the FBI stepped up.
