Oh don’t even start me. I’ve seen various blogs and news spots where mayor Cantrell and her lap doctor have been whining about how Trump let this happen to New Orleans as he dissolved the section of CDC that would have warned the city. There has been a number of civilian contractors involved with Mardi Gras who’ve stated that they did have talks with the city about the virus threat well before Mardi Gras day and were told by the city that the city would lose too much money were the event cancelled so it was a ‘go’. They’re doing this anonymously, of course, as if they were ever identified their contracts with the city would be a gone pecan forever but there’s enough of them to make it believable.

This is supposed to explain all of her bad decisions she’s made about the virus, and using her TV personality lapdoctor to shill for her gives her a fig leaf for her actions with her electorate. As much of her electorate’s…less than worldly…their ability to distinguish their elbows from their kneecaps is limited and their interests tilt more towards ‘throw me something mister’ rather than deep political thought. They’re Democratic drones, after all.

BTW, they put a lot of the NOLA EMS on quarantine as ‘suspected’ as having the COVID before the tests came back, leaving the city short. Many health workers are still working despite being suspected, they just wear full protective gear, but a lot of EMS were taken off line.

One of the major problems used to be, and most likely still is, that many low-income residents use the city’s EMS as a taxi service. I was in EMS training in the mid-90s, I wasn’t going to do regular EMS but with the SO as a ‘just in case’ EMS as if there’s a gunfight and a deputy goes down the regular EMS won’t come to the scene until it’s completely clear and secure. One of the things that bothered me was that as part of our practicum we’d have to ride with the regular city EMS and the instructor was going on about how a good number of our calls would be in the old Projects, carrying overweight residents down multiple flights of stairs to doctor’s appointments, dialysis, all of those things regular people do on their own. Not only did that go against my grain but I’d be working unarmed in Projects I’d worked armed with the SO so that made me uneasy.

The city has the regular EMS but every fire house has FD EMS personnel too, seems someone realized that the city needed EMS who were not also livery drivers. Oh, by the way, the city’s infamously inept Sewerage and Water Board also has a large number of personnel on paid quarantine as they are ‘suspected’ of being exposed to the COVID. That potentially makes operations a problem and makes me wonder how healthy you have to be to lean on a shovel or hide under a bridge while you’re on duty? With the levels of disfunction the city has during ‘normal’ conditions operations under pandemic conditions are really scary.

Welcome to public service in a Democrat-run city.

I must admit that it’s funny that in this video, the bassist just stands there and looks unamused.

I had to laugh just now. The mayor of Ft. Lauderdale, a Demoncrap who probably supports bringing in unchecked illegals in huge numbers, is against the cruise ship full of (probably) Europeans, some of whom have the virus. I agree with him and our governor DeSantis that they should NOT be allowed to embark here. He is trying to dump it in Pres. Trump’s lap.
