Here’s another irritation. In the late 90s the fear of a ‘mass casualty incident’ caused a number of major cities to create response plans just in case. Just after 911 the cities, and some hospitals, held ‘biological incident’ drills and created plans. I have materials left over from both of them and apparently the cities don’t, if they had and took the training sessions seriously we wouldn’t have these problems to the degree we do now. God help us if we have another hurricane, it appears the city’s plans are crap…there goes all of the Katrina knowledge.

All of the prep should have been in place for something like this, the main hospital in NOLA that pushed the bioresponse program years ago is doing quite well and hasn’t needed to go into panic mode yet, it’s working through this. The state and city governments, which have had a great deal of real world disaster response in the last 15 years, are running around like headless chickens. All of that experience, all of those lessons learned, all of that planning…

If there’s one good thing about this for the NOLA city government it’s that it’s drawn attention away from the disaster that’s the city Sewerage and Water Board and the Hard Rock Hotel still dangling and over downtown (with dead bodies still in it) and threatening to collapse.

When my kids were younger there was a girl in the neighborhood I tutored in math. Unlike most people, I refuse to believe a person can’t learn math, but this young girl challenged that belief.

Her problem was one big thing. When we finished a chapter, she mentally closed that file, considered it past history, over and done. When we moved on the the next chapter, she could not figure out how to solve the problems. When I (again) explained that we had been learning the process to solve in previous problems she would sometimes actually cry. She considered having to retain knowledge grossly unfair and cruel. This is no exaggeration, that was her mindset.

Hundreds of people like her run government offices and are politicians today.

Well, there was the Fed civil servant I worked with who had a BS in accounting who worked with us and said time and time again that he was ‘no good with numbers’. Or the Nigerian accountant with a MA in accounting from a major English university who came to work with us after leaving a well known local university who left in disgust after finding out many of the accountants couldn’t reliably count the number of toes they had.

Local network affiliate has their medical doctor expert on not only painting the network’s ‘it’s Trump’s fault’ on the pandemic but also trying to cover the mayor’s butt.

It’s being said that the NOLA infection rate’s so high due to Mardi Gras and some are questioning her honor’s lack of speed in shutting down the city. Well the mayor’s saying that had the Feds have warned her she’d have shut Mardi Gras down. Mardi Gras day was 25 February but the entire celebration ran from 12th Night to the 25th with a surge in parades during the last week., what major US city was shutting down in the US in mid-February? Also, as I’ve said, the city and state did its best ‘deer in the headlights’ until it got to the point of a pandemic in the city.

The city of New Orleans also owns the Moisant International Airport and it’s still open and operating, just today the Texas governor said he won’t allow aircraft or passengers from Moisant to deboard in Texas, they’ll have to undergo a 14 day quarantine if they do. The city still potentially exports infection thru the airport and we’re seeing no signs of the city closing it. Right now the power player’s pitch is to CYA the city’s first black, female, outsider mayor and so far her administration’s been one disaster after another.

The medical consultant was saying it was the government’s fault that the mayor didn’t get the correct info because the agency in the CDC that was to have warned the nation was shut down, closed down, defunded (by Trump, the MSM/Rat line). When I called the station and gave the names of the other Federal agencies that should have also sounded the alarm and asked why, after years of planning and prep the city and state is still running around flailing its arms…they hung up on me. The city’s planning its Democrat CYA narrative to explain yet another failure and the media’s in bed with it, defending the family.

Michigan’s nitwit governor is following in Nevada’s footsteps by forbidding doctors and pharmacists from providing or prescribing the very drugs that may save Covid-19 patients. The ones that New York is now using in clinical trials.

…But if you live in Michigan, and you or a loved one is infected with this potentially lethal disease, you’re out of luck.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs literally threatened all doctors and pharmacists in the state who prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.

The agency’s March 24 letter warns physicians and pharmacists of professional consequences for the prescribing of hydroxychloroquine (and chloroquine). Beyond the rational recommendation against hoarding as production of this medication needs to be ramped up, the letter deviates into open threats of “administrative action” against the licenses of doctors that prescribe hydroxychloroquine.

The letter also instructs pharmacists to ignore physician orders for this medication. Due to the debate over a pharmacist’s right to refuse to fill medications that go against their religious beliefs, this could place pharmacists in the unprecedented position of being told that they must fill prescriptions that violate their “conscience (religious belief)” but must not fill prescriptions to treat COVID-19.

Even worse, the letter indicates health care providers are “required to report” their fellow physicians who are prescribing these medications. This draconian measure carries ominous Gestapo-like overtones of neighbor reporting neighbor to “authorities.” …

If the meds cure people this will really blow up on these idiot governors. Won’t be long until we know, I already saw one article saying one man said he was dying and the meds saved his life.
