One Christmas I came in the house and there was red all over the living room. It looked like somebody had bled a lot. Turned out it was the female lab, who had red on her face, who had eaten most of the little artificial apples that had a really shiny red glaze on them I had just put on the tree. I think some numbskuil had made the apples with sugar to make the glaze.

Suzy, my red Border Collie in Scotland was naughty one Christmas. I hung little foil-wrapped Chocolates on the tree. We only had a small tree on a table in the front room window. They were really pretty in shapes of decorations. She managed to unwrap and eat every one of them, leaving the little foil wrappers in the tree. She sure had had some lips to unwrap them and leave the wrappers in the tree!
I was worried the chocolate would kill her, but she was fine, except for the fact that Mom was a bit ticked off, Lol.

My beagle mix, Sassy, once ate a whole bowl of Hershey’s kisses, foil and all. She was a bit hyper, but otherwise fine. I think the milk chocolate isn’t so lethal.

We were finally able to get things ready for our dogs. I found a wonderful young lady who kept them for after we sold our house and lived in the extended stay hotel. We visited frequently, and missed them so much.
They are pretty confused right now, coming home to a new place. If you leave the car door open they climb in and won’t get out unless bribed. I think the Miss the cabin, and all the freedom they had to run around there. However, they are both pretty old and I think they will enjoy more time inside here. It’s just going to be challenging to keep the big galoots clean.
Glad to have them home, even if they are unsure about the new place.
